Congratulations!! I don't follow this board as much as I *should*, but wanted to offer my best wishes as you begin this new phase. I, too, did a similar thing-- ICU RN of many many years to CRNP with Neurocritical Care... and now in Management (was a great opportunity where I thought I could really make a difference), but I do miss the clinical side of things and get my hands in whenever I can;) Remember to give yourself time to adjust. I don't think I was prepared for how HUGE of a transition it was, despite my years of experience. Being a provider is a completely different approach to patient management. Best advice... find yourself a mentor (and highly recommend that mentor being another CRNP). Enjoy!!

I will definitely miss being at the bedside for all the traumas, cardiac arrests and bones sticking out,  but I will certainly not miss the drop-off overdose patients, the drunks, nor the 2-3 times per day regulars. My dd is an RN. I don't know how you all do it, but I have the utmost respect and admiration for all nurses. Congratulations and best wishes!
