Anyone know of things to do off of the Strip and Fremont Street besides Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon? DH rented a car for 24 hours and we were wanting to do stuff around the area. Last time we rented a car, we went to the Valley of Fire and it was amazing. Hoping to find another hidden gem. Any suggestions?

We went to "Counts Kustoms" you really can't see to much, but you can tour about 15 of the Counts personal cars. We love classic cars so it was fun for us.
We also stopped at a diner "The Coffee Cup" on the way to Hoover Dam. It has been on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. Breakfast was really good.
Of course we had to find an "In n Out" to have burgers and fries, and a new t-shirt for the hubby.

If you are into Pawn Stars, the Gold and Silver Pawn shop is off the strip. More of a Vegas type thing to do, but might be worth a stop if you like the show. I've also heard good things about the Neon Sign graveyard.

There is a candy company out there called Ethel's Chocolates... I think they give tours, if you're interested. (I didn't look very carefully at the details about it because I don't go off strip when I'm out there.)
Oh, if you stamp, Viva Las Vegas Rubber Stamps is usually pretty highly recommended (although beware that they evidently have a ton of cats in the shop). It looked like it was walkable off the strip, but evidently that is not wholly recommended for, oh, safety reasons.

I will definitely keep "The Coffee Cup" in mind. I forgot all about Pawn Stars being filmed there... that will be a possibility as well! Thank you, ladies! ETA: I just saw a youtube video of the Viva Las Vegas Rubber Stamps and it's absolutely going on my list of places we are going! Thank you for the suggestion!!!!!

Ethel M's chocolates is always fun. If your adventurous you can zip line in Bootleg Canyon. I want to go to the Neon Sign Museum next time we are there. Also don't forget the Ferris wheel is open now. It's HUGE!!!

We just got back from Vegas. We didn't leave the city as we didn't have a car, but I just wanted to tell you to have a great time. It was our first time and we can't wait to go back.

Definitely hit up the pawn shop, we were out there in March and stopped in and saw/met Chumlee.
If you want to venture out further, Zion National Park is gorgeous. It's a 2-2.5 hour drive from Vegas, I think. We spent a day doing that in March, too. We were also out in Vegas for 6 days so we had plenty of time.

We drove to "Buffalo Bills" many years ago, close to the California border.
Red Rock Canyon is beautiful.
Have fun!

That's what I thought Boulder City is a lovely small town...one of, if not the only, towns where gambling is not legal.
