We've been having issues with DH getting DS to school late. He doesn't have a remote for the garage door, he has to use a keypad on the side of the house and if you put in the wrong number it will blink at you for several seconds before it lets you put the number in again. He is notorious for running late, then blaming it on the garage door not wanting to close -no, you're standing there trying to punch in the number while its blinking, you can't do that you have to wait. Meanwhile, DS is in the car upset that he's going to be late, again. it's happened enough times that now we get a note from the school basically taking us to task for him being late every time. I get a call at 8:45 (DS MUST be dropped off at 8:30). we overslept can you call the school? of course the school secretary is like suuuuuuure he had a doc appt, and I've got oceanfront property in AZ I'll sell you. I told DH I'm going to start coming back home after dropping DD off at school which starts an hour earlier. he gets pissy with me and says no, I just need a better alarm clock. Seriously? No you don't you need to start getting your a$$ out of bed and getting your son to school ON TIME. Just have your son ride the bus and the problem is solved.

We just bought a new refrigerator this past week, the ice maker is SO LOUD when it drops the cubes into the tray. Like I can hear it in the next room loud. I mentioned to dh how annoying this was, he swears he can't hear it. HELLO? It's insanely loud. Dh usually has the tv on when he's home, he was gone all day, so the tv has been turned off. Which made the ice drops seem even louder. So today, the dogs have noticed it too. They've spent the majority of the day in the kitchen giving the stink eye to the refrigerator. And growling at it each time they hear the ice drop. My sister-in-law came over for dinner and brought her pup to play with mine. Her pup watches mine, hears them growling so she starts barking at the frig. Which then made mine start barking at it. I actually had to put a bag of frozen veggies in the tray to muffle the sound. It worked, pups found some other entertainment. Dh comes home and I'm telling him the story. His takeaway? Well, it'll make less ice if there's a bag of vegetables in the tray... A first world problem for sure. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg) Does it happen to be a Samsung? Our new one is and the ice-drops scare the crap out of me and the cats too!!!

Once the ice tray fills up, ours stops making more ice. Since we have hard water and don’t have a water softener/filter, I don’t use the ice because it has all that particulate in it. I almost never hear the ice drop anymore because the tray is always full. My annoyance is that we have a big storm coming tomorrow but it’s not supposed to get bad until the afternoon and evening. So instead of cancelling school, they’re starting at the normal time and letting the kids out early. If I’m being honest, I’d rather they just be closed from the get-go so I didn’t have to get up and get dressed when it’s cold and dark outside. And if I’m being really REALLY honest, I dread making my night owl kid get up and ready in the morning even more than dragging myself out of bed! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/pd7N3dneptLj3pbgz5Gd.jpg) That kid is SO crabby and pokey in the mornings! That stinks! If your school district is like ours, they will still get credit for holding school on that partial day and it won't have to counted as a snow day! UGH!!!

Once a semester I volunteer at our high school. We have a Food School program, and I go in and demo buttercream, fill & crumb coat a cake, fondant it, talk about owning a business, that kind of thing. And the Chef instructor always warns me - there is always a challenging class. But you would think, that since she talked about being disrespectful to her (as stragglers came late and tried to explain it away and kept talking over her) when a guest was there, one might think that they would MAYBE try to shut their freaking mouths while a community GUEST is volunteering her time and skill to teach them something new. AHHHHH!! First period was polite and lovely. Second period had a good third of the class that never shut up. And I'm loud - but they sucked. And not my place to yell at them. I should have stopped and just done the evil stink eye at them until they caught on they were being rude. But somehow I figured that wouldn't work anyway. I'm on a lunch/third period off break, I go back for 2pm for another class. Which is supposed to be better. You are wonderful for going in and teaching for your friend. There is always one class that just sucks the life out of a teacher. It is one thing I do not miss about teaching.

The first year, was great! The second year, not so much. First, the school didn't have the projector / screen set up as we has previously discussed so I was winging it anyway! Then, there was a fire drill in the middle of my presentation. It was down-hill from there! The kids could not be riled back in for anything! I haven't gone back since. Hope it all went well!

So today I have a mountain of paperwork and shipping to take care of and of course the school calls and my DD was sick in the nurses office. So I stop what I'm doing, pick her up and go to the urgent care (which that places annoys me specifically) and I'm annoyed in general because that took 4 hours like always and she's not sick enough for medicine like always and I've got ebayers messaging me about their stuff not shipping yet and it's too early for a shot of vodka.
18 days and counting till vacation!!!!

Is there another family in the neighborhood that could take your kid to school with their kid/s?

What does your husband do for a living? As a former teacher I can tell you it is very disruptive for a student to walk in late to class. It is even more so when it happens daily because students will make comments to the offending student. The rest of the class resents the fact that they can get to class on time. Remind your dh how disruptive it is when a coworker walks into a meeting late.

Is there another family in the neighborhood that could take your kid to school with their kid/s? there might be but DH needs to get his a$$ in gear is what needs to happen. We are a family of night owls, I have multiple alarms set on my phone and my watch, DD HAS to be at school by 8 and if we're not out the door by 7:30 to go sit in the car rider line she doesn't make it in on time. Therefore one of us has to get up to take her to school. There's no reason he's still sleeping when I'm leaving at 7:30 on a weekday. (either of them) This has been an ongoing issue this year as we have transitioned from having both kids in one elementary school to one in middle (and in a different location) and one in elementary that starts an hour later. DH's solution is to pay an extra 90 bucks a month and have DS go to before care. Mine is everyone gets themselves up at one time and gets ready to go out the door on time. We've had to adjust with the car rider line for middle school taking up to 25 minutes, he can adjust to the fact that the garage door is cranky and doesn't always want to shut by leaving early.

I'm also going to double back and get DS, to make sure he's getting there on time. Maybe we will start a breakfast together routine when I get back from dropping DD off. DS is an anxious kid to begin with and is really upset this is happening.

Yup, everybody needs to get up and get ready at the same time then. And as hard as it will be, I’d start making the move for *everyone* to start going to bed earlier too, especially your DH. ETA: How much does a new garage door opener cost? I’d be willing to bet that it’s less than $200. Wouldn’t it be worth saving your sanity to look into that as well?

They one of those alarm clocks that uses light to wake you up. That might help DH. But if it was me, I'd take DS with to take DD to school. Then drop him off. Maybe get breakfast occasionally, make it more fun. And DH could use that extra time to replace the garage door opener. He sounds annoying.

I suspect it's very reasonable, but we just got our power bill from the first few weeks in Jan when it was stupid cold here (-20 degree windchills) and we're going to have to sell a kidney to be able to pay it. I have earmarked a new opener fob on ebay which is 20 bucks and will pick one up on payday.

I guess it never hurts to ask! I was browsing our work classifieds last week and a woman was looking for a 3 bedroom apartment for $7-800 per month near our work (the most expensive part of town). A 3 bedroom in that area would cost about $3500 a month. Maybe more. I hope she finds someplace, but we all got a good laugh at those somewhat interesting expectations. I would also love to spend $700 a month on a three bedroom (Reality check- my kids are sharing a bedroom until they are 24!). $3500 for a 3-bedroom??? Are you in a major metropolis? Hold on, let me pick my jaw off the floor. I have to say there are some things I don't love about Texas, but I appreciate our housing costs, even in our slightly expensive small town. I just moved to Texas from Washington DC and my rent for the same size apartment is 4 times less. AND the new apartment is nicer. I'm in total shock! SaveSave

I'm annoyed at myself. Finished one of my writing assignments and turned it in and then noticed I had it formatted at 1.5 spaces instead of double spaced. Gahhhh needless loss of points for format!

My mortgage for a 5 bedroom/3bath house is just over $1000 a month. I live in SC.

I didn't get my 8 hrs beauty sleep. I think I had sugar to late yesterday. I sat down just now after prepping dinner taking out recycle and doing dishes. I'm going to regret it. I'm not sure what else I'm intending on doing. As my To Do list for week is not in reach. DH decided to have a lie down when we got in so putting away laundry isn't something I can so with out disturbing him. I need to get up get dinner in the oven. Maybe I will go scrub the tub.

I live in an older highrise condo building that is well insulated between units. 2 floors above and to the left of me a unit is being renovated. At least the jack-hammering to remove the tile flooring is done. Now comes the noise of the rest of the renovation. The contractor is really nice and has given me ear plugs and does place a paper under my door of the expected daily "noise"activities. The new neighbours will need to supply the rest of us with plenty of wine & cheese at their house-warming party.

The jackhammer sound for hours on end was so restful (dripping in sarcasm)

If I have to justify to ONE more person why I'm going to NYC this weekend when I am out of a job I will SCREAM.
No, it is not ideal. But the ONE day I miss looking for a job is not going to be the ONLY day I can get a job. Yes I will spend more money on food for my daughter and I then if we stayed home. But, I spent $1000 on the trip before I lost my job.
So we will go. And why am I explaining myself to anyone???
That is for my family not the peas.

I have an expensive medication that gets shipped from a "specialty" pharmacy. First of all, I go through hell every year trying to get it pre-authorized. Now, my insurance company is FORCING me to use THE pharmacy of their choice. I have been using the same pharmacy for over 10 years and love their service. It's not a monthly script- it's actually every 24 days and they always call to remind me it's time to refill and set up a shipping time. It just annoys me to no end that I have to change and start over.

Today has been one of those super irritating days, but the kicker was that my DD borrowed my computer for her homework and she did something so that all of my bookmarks, passwords, user names, browsing history, etc. are completely wiped off of my computer. It's like I don't exist. She says all she did was "log out of Chrome" but I am thinking she deleted my cookies and browsing history somehow.
I don't even save important passwords on here, but it's the non-important ones that I WILL NEVER REMEMBER that are poof! gone! And, I am addicted to only typing in one or two letters into the address bar, and it knowing where I want to go, and that is poof! gone! as well. It's kind of unsettling.

A former classmate on my FB list shared a video with a "I hope this isn't true." Someone told her it wasn't, a quick Google search proved that. She replied with "I don't have time to check." I want to say if you can make time to share a video, you have time to check if it's true or not. Hell, I clicked on the original post and the first few comments were "this isn't true!" It's not that hard. But she loves drama so I keep my mouth shut.

So annoyed that I go to the gym to improve my health and relieve anxiety; however, my indulgence while I'm there is to watch TV shows that I love so I can pass the time. To have to endure pharmaceutical commercials related to my health condition (and others) only amps up the anxiety. I don't need to know every disgusting side effect of the advertised medications/conditions, nor do I need to be reminded that in rare cases, XYZ can result in death. I'm at the gym to try to avoid the medications (and death, of course). Having these incessant reminders feels so defeating. I know the solution is to watch Netflix on my tablet instead of watching the gym TVs (and then watch the shows I want to see on DVR at home so I can fast forward through the commercials), but I just feel like stomping my feet and throwing my own little personal hissy fit -- 'cause I don't wanna. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/crazy.jpg.gif) Definitely a first-world problem, but thanks for letting me vent!

NO, lady. The store refusing your return because the items you bought (supposedly) yesterday now REEK of cigarette smoke is not discrimination against smokers.
God, I just wanted to smack her silly. Especially since she argued with the cashier, who had to get the manager. And then, when the poor manager gave in after relentless bullying, it turned out that the lady did not have a receipt nor the tags still on the merchandise, so no return was possible anyway!
You are stupid, illogical, a bully, and worst of all, a time waster.
(And yes, they reeked. I was standing 10 feet away and I could smell them.)
