Count me in for missing a it when AC didn't own so much and each company had its own trademark look. I even miss the grungy distressed era. At the top of my miss it most list is Basic Grey, Sassafras (sadly I hardly bought any when it was readily available and would love to have a stash of it now), KI memories, Scenic Route, Junkitz, and Making Memories. riversong1963 also mentioned Gin-x...I have to say they made the world's most incredible alphabet rub-ons. They came in a small box with one sheet of each letter. I stocked up on them and they are still going strong. Unlike others they never flaked off or dried up, instead they go on like butter.

Basic Grey is the company I miss the most. I also miss the old Bo Bunny before they got all vintagy. (Vintage-y?)
Someone mentioned LSSs. I miss mine! It was only two miles from my house. Such happy memories!!

My heart broke when Daisy Ds went out and the disappearance of Basic grey felt like the end of an era. Luckily I still have a good amount of BG in my stash.

I miss the old manufacturers too, magazines, scrapbook clubs that have closed and their forums that were so chatty while they were in business. I'm talking about between 2005-2010. So many great kit clubs have went out of business. I so miss pretty papers and don't really care for all the graphics that are out there right now. I also miss plain old scrapbooking without all the fluff, mixed media. I feel like I'm an old dinosaur struggling to survive in a scrapbooking world that is slowly slipping away. So many are stamping, card making, art journaling, planners, travelers notebooks etc., etc. and I don't find much of just plain old scrapbooking anymore. Makes me sad! But, I know there are those that love it and I'm glad there's something out there for all of us...at least for now!

They really remind me of scrapbooking of years ago in the sense that it's about the pictures, not the stuff.

I didn't want to hijack the thread about OA, so thought I'd start one. What products or companies to you miss? I loved & miss My little shoebox!! I will say that some of the Echo Park stuff is close, maybe that's why I love EP. LOL I used to visit a LSS who was the owner/designer of My Little Shoebox. I actually overheard her talking about drama on Two Peas in a Bucket, so of course I had to go see, and I never left! Anyway, I just looked her up and it seems like she may be designing for Doodlebug Design now. See if that looks like your style maybe?

I miss the uniqueness of all of the different manufacturers. I miss the excitement of the new releases. They just don't get me as excited as I used to be. I miss the 2 Peas gallery. Ours is nice, but it's just not the same. I miss magazines to flip through; getting them in the mail, or seeing them in the stores. I miss (Well, sorta) the craziness of working the KI Memories booth when I worked for them. I miss working with all of the LSS owners. I do miss the amount of LSS's. We have one closeish by, and I LOVE that we do, but I also loved visiting all the different stores around town, as well as on vacation.

I know you meant companies, but I miss a whole lot of things. There was an aura that just isn't around anymore.
- The anticipation of the SB magazines arriving in the mail.
- Having 4-5 LSSs to shop at.
- Two Pea badges
- SB conventions with tons of crafty vendors, and not women or family products.
- The anticipation of the Quickutz release every month.
- Two Peas Gallery
- A whole bunch of peas that never made it over, or were long gone before 2 peas died.
- Having tons of SB related blogs to read
- Going to Michaels and their house brand not being 90% of the products available.
- The stamping board Peas at 2Ps.
- Many, many paper brands that are no longer around.
- Taking solo crafty trips, but sadly just not worth the travel $$ anymore.

I miss the old QVC craft shows. Since I’m on the west coast I got to watch the Today’s Special Value presentation at 9pm. I’d just started scrapping it was a great place to get kits (they even included albums).
Making Memories was one of my favorites. Paper, tools, even paint—they had it all. Basic Grey, Seven Gypsies, and Senic Route are also sorely missed.

So many things that I miss! I miss having real life people to scrapbook with, lss that I could go to without having to travel 2+ hours, the many sb message boards like Lifetime Moments (wonder what happened to everyone from there?), new products all the time, 2 CHAs a year, the magazines that you couldn't wait to receive in the mail! Sigh.

FurryP I know what you mean. I also miss talking scrapbooking. No one I know scrapbooks. If I try and sell it and try to make a craft buddy, their eyes glaze over. :/

I miss the wanting. I can remember when I kept a running list of items that I loved with each new CHA, all the while knowing that I wouldn't be able to get it all before the next big release of fabulous things. There's no anticipation anymore. 99% of new releases aren't my style, and the ones that are have become predictable and boring.

I miss lots of things - some already mentioned like Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, the magazines, the variety of manufacturers and unique products. Maybe that’s what I miss the most - we’re now living in an AC world where the emphasis seems to be on cookie cutter collections and it’s getting harder and harder to tell which designer is behind which line.

I miss Making Memories products back in the hey day of scrapbooking. It was my favorite company, i loved their supplies so very much. I still hold onto many of them & remember running to the LSS to get every product they made.

I can't use it anymore because a piece broke off, but I can't seem to throw it away! I loved that darn thing!! I miss Making Memories the most. I still have full lines of Basic Grey. I stopped scrapping for quite a while and have just recently started again, its fun to bring out all the stuff I have again. Oh, also there was a smaller online store that had kits for like $5 that were a couple sheets of patterened paper, a rub on and 1 or 2 die cuts that all coordinated from My minds Eye. I loved those so much! They made it so easy to throw together a quick layout. I can't remember the site. I think maybe she had a disabled child?? She had really great prices.

Scenic Route and Basic Grey for sure. I also miss Hambly cause they did some cool stuff.
I too miss the LSS and crops. SC was so cool back in 2008/09/10 and then that all went to custard. And the magazines, especially Simple Scrapbooks and CK. There just used to be so much more excitement in the hobby didn't there, more dramas and scandals, it was interesting lol!

I miss running to Archiver's on my lunch hour. It is so much more fun to see things in person, rather than buying online.
My checkbook is happier, though! Popping into Archiver's for red cardstock usually ended up with a bill of at least $25.

I absolutely wish that scrapbooking magazines were still around. My local big box craft store has loads for stamping, sewing, general crafts but nothing for scrapbooking.

I will say that some of the Echo Park stuff is close, maybe that's why I love EP. LOL I am also a MLSbox fan that migrated over to EP. OA has had a sort of a rebirth with Carta Bella, which is a good thing. Now I am waiting for someone--anyone???--to pick up the torch for My Little [Yellow] Bicycle! They had the dynamic lines, happiest colours, funnest embellishments! I soooooo miss them! Then for awhile after LYB backed away from the sb scene I was able to find some of that vibe with Bo Bunny, until they first got really artsy then jumped into the big vat of pink paint with Ac.
