Do you?
My uncle's wife was the only adult I knew who took a nap, well besides my 7th grade english teacher during the middle of class.
The wife would put her hair in rollers and take off her makeup she would undress from her morning clothes and put on her napping pajamas. It was quite a ritual. She would get up put in her face again put on her afternoon clothes and start dinner. She would change into evening clothes when uncle got home.
My mother said she did it because she used to have the neighborhood husbands ( one at a time) over to "fix" things around the house and she was tired by noon. My mother said the neighborhood wives threw her the biggest bridal shower even tho she was a widow, because they were happy she was remarrying and moving across town.

On my days off, yes, I nap. In my ideal world we would be awake for 4-5 hours, sleep for 3-4 hours and repeat.

HAHA!!! love your story.
No, I don't take naps- it takes me a while to fall asleep, and sleeping in the middle of the day makes me feel sluggish. Unless it's like, Sunday afternoon and I'm not planning on doing anything at all during the day, anyway. Then, I might fall asleep for a while when I'm watching television, but the sluggish feeling is still there when I wake up.
My parents take a nap every afternoon after their dinner (which is lunch, for people who aren't Midwesterners). It basically means my dad sits in his recliner and falls asleep while reading the paper. But then again, he just turned 88, so it's not so unexpected that he might want to take a nap.

Its pretty rare for me to take a nap, even though I sometimes have time for one. The only person I know that naps regularly is my Dad--he came home every day at lunch time to eat and take a quick power nap. It's not surprising to see him power napping while sitting during family events...

yes. only on the weekends though. i only sleep about 6 hours a night. a good 20 minute nap and i'm reset for the rest of the day/evening.
ETA: yes, napping clothes. it's a thing. i was just having a discussion about this with my sister and nieces. house clothes, nap clothes, work clothes, play clothes, church clothes.....all of it.

I do, but only because of my health issues. My mom has always been a napper. Always. It's a childhood memory of mine even. She was a morning person, and a napper. Now she's just a napper.

I love naps. But I hate waking up from them. I’m always groggy and slept longer than I intended to. Sunday is the only day I might take a nap, other days I have too much shit going on. But I don’t change clothes and all that. That’s too much damn effort.

I can easily sleep for 8-10 hours straight on the weekends, though, so I really don't need / want a nap in the middle of the day, either.

No, I am not a napper unless I am sick or really tired because I did something out of the ordinary (woke up extra early, back from a trip, etc.).

I lay down and rest after lunch with a boring tv show if I am tired. I may doze off a few minutes, but seldom sleep very long. Not a good sleeper either.

No. The only place I took naps was when I lived in India for a few years. Most people lie down in the afternoon when it's swelteringly hot and have a sleep under a fan or the aircon.

Sometimes. If I have a Saturday or Sunday afternoon with nothing to do, you can find me on the couch taking a nap for at least an hour (or however long I sleep; I don't set an alarm.) I love naps. They complete me. If I come home from work in the evening and have a headache I will take a 20 min cat nap in a chair (setting an alarm so I don't sleep long). It usually helps the headache disappear.

My dad naps has napped every afternoon since retiring 30 years ago. We know never to call between 1 & 3 or make plans for than time frame if he is visiting.
I love having an afternoon nap although I don't get one very often. Twenty minutes is good enough most of the time and I usually set an alarm, every now & then the snooze button gets hit a few times.

I have severe sleep apnea and fibromyalgia so I am tired all the dang time. Naps are a necessity.

I like to stay up late and get up early. I take a nap most afternoons. I lay down on the bed and set the alarm. It's a habit I got into when the kids were babies.

As an adult, I typically don't nap unless I'm sick, or feel like I'm getting sick. I used to nap a lot, because I was quite depressed. In order to combat the depression, and because I didn't want to take meds, I resorted to an afternoon walk followed by coffee. That practice has served me well and I continue it, even though I'm no longer depressed.
When I was younger and in college, in order to maintain my party schedule, I would go to my am classes, take a nap, go work out, study, party, repeat.

Rarely, but on the very occasional time that I do decide to take a nap, I make it a good nap. None of this falling asleep sitting on the sofa crap for me. I do the whole "get into bed, under the covers" nap taking position.

I almost always nap on Sunday afternoon. I usually fall asleep on the couch watching tv. We have a large ottoman that fits against the chaise and couch that is almost a full sized bed.

I can't nap. No matter how exhausted I am, I just can't fall asleep in the day unless I'm ill. DH can (he calls them "20-minute power naps") and I envy him. I wish I could.

I nap once a year. I had my annual nap last week and I won't need another nap for another year. I don't sleep during the day. I would like to and think the concept is great. I just don't do it.

I almost always have a delicious nap after church on Sundays... Since it's just the two of us now, Sunday afternoons are slow and quiet. I snuggle up in my chair with a good book and usually only get to a page or two before z-z-z-z-z. I'll wake up in an hour or so, usually with the dog snuggled up to me (didn't start out that way and he knows he's not allowed on the furniture but if mama is asleep, she can't yell at him...).
The other time that I love to nap is when we travel in our RV. 'Nothing better than plopping down in the bed in the middle of the day, with the doors/windows open with a good smelling pine-scented breeze..... ahhhhh....

Wow - sounds like she was doing more than napping!
I used to take naps every afternoon for 2-3 hours when my thyroid was low and also when I was eating carbs for lunch.
These days I have salads and protein at lunchtime, and my thyroid numbers are right - so if I nap it's only 45 mins, maybe once a week.

Every day, given the chance. I love a nap. Almost always on the settee whilst watching something on the telly. Usually sometime after 3.30-4ish, sometimes a little later. That's the time I stop after being busy the rest of the day, and relax before starting tea. It could be twenty minutes or an hour. As soon as I start watching telly, my eyes get heavy.

My parents take a nap every afternoon after their dinner (which is lunch, for people who aren't Midwesterners). Thank you! As soon and the rest of the world comes around to realizing dinner is at NOON - it will be a better place. Supper is in the evening. DH usually snoozes for 15-20 minutes after dinner. The day starts early. Usually up around 6 now that it is the slow time of the year, and home by 6 in the evening, but soon the day will start earlier and end later.. so a nap kind of keeps him going. I don't every day - but once i a while - boom.. I must have needed it.

My DH is another one that can do the power naps or more than the power nap if time allows. I, unfortunately, am usually only a sick napper. I will say now that I'm getting older I am falling asleep more quickly than my youth. I took a nap the other day, I gave up caffeine about a week ago and the last 2 months dd has kept me up late. I was out like a light and didn't even feel the usual grogginess afterwards. I hope I'm turning a corner and will be able to nap in the future too.
