JFC. I should probably stay off of Twitter today. I hate people. Yep, and the sad thing is that Twitter just purged a lot of Russian bots, so unless a whole slew of Russian bots got right back on, these are actual people acting like the west end of east bound mules.

You may be on to something that with the Russian Bots banned from twitter you understand it’s fellow citizens are saying stuff like this.
NRATV..
"These people, these monsters, want to kill the #NRA. And they want to do it so they can destroy America. Once you are disarmed, their violence will only escalate. Mark my words: We will not let that happen!" –@stinchfield1776“
There is a video with it and it’s clear he is talking about the high school kids that have been protesting.

It seems trump doesn’t like it because McMaster tells the truth based on facts and not the truth based on trump’s alternative facts. Trouble is that the less competent people he brings in will cost us, the tax payers more every day.......Possibly with some of our lives! This is how Wayne LaPierre describes Democrats just before Pence speaks at CPAC: "A party that is now infested with saboteurs who don't believe in capitalism, don't believe in the Constitution, don't believe in our freedom, and don't believe in America as we know it." (via CBS) Someone in the WH doesn't do too well with the constitution! Capitalism is great, too bad the low-income and middle-class have to pay for the 1%'s tax cut! And who is threatening our freedoms, including freedom of the press?

Well hell. Maybe this is how this administration kills the public school system in this country. If they do this, teachers will leave, students will get yanked. Not all of course. Then maybe some charter or private schools open up that advertise gun free education facilities. Suddenly all the students, parents, and teachers flock to those schools. Funding for the public schools dries up, forcing more and more cuts and ever expanding class sizes. More teachers leave. Public school dies out, and Betsy DeVos and Donald Trump effectively privatize education in this country. Can’t afford private school? Guess there’s no education for you! Getting rid of our public schools has been the adgenda of the right for decades. They may finally achieve it. It will be the final nail in the coffin of this country.

Breaking News from trump. “I never said “give teachers guns” like was stated on Fake News @cnn & @nbc. What I said was to look at the possibility of giving “concealed guns to gun adept teachers with military or special training experience - only the best. 20% of teachers, a lot, would now be able to ....immediately fire back if a savage sicko came to a school with bad intentions. Highly trained teachers would also serve as a deterrent to the cowards that do this. Far more assets at much less cost than guards. A “gun free” school is a magnet for bad people. ATTACKS WOULD END! ....History shows that a school shooting lasts, on average, 3 minutes. It takes police & first responders approximately 5 to 8 minutes to get to site of crime. Highly trained, gun adept, teachers/coaches would solve the problem instantly, before police arrive. GREAT DETERRENT! ....If a potential “sicko shooter” knows that a school has a large number of very weapons talented teachers (and others) who will be instantly shooting, the sicko will NEVER attack that school. Cowards won’t go there...problem solved. Must be offensive, defense alone won’t work! I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health. Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue - I hope!“ I guess someone finally clued him in that it has to be Congress that can ban the sale of bump stocks and not Jeff Sessions. Last night I read that at one mass shooting it took armed guards just 90 seconds to take down the shooter and by then 5 people were dead. At the Orlando club there was an off duty police officer who engaged with the shooter and yet 49 people died. Mass shootings don’t just happen at schools. Armed guards are not the answer. And he sure is fixated on “gun free zones”. Emphasis on mental health huh. Does that mean you are going to repeal the one law you signed? But as always with trump its not what he say it’s what he does that matters. What an idiot. What they don't seem to get is that these shooters don't care if they die. How many kill themselves after their carnage? It's not going to stop them if they expect to die going in.

“TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Every Florida school and school administrative building will have to prominently display "In God we trust" under a bill passed by the Florida House.
The House on Wednesday approved the bill on a 97-10 vote.
Rep. Kimberly Daniels, a Jacksonville Democrat and sponsor of the bill, cited the recent shootings at a Florida high school during her closing speech on the bill. Seventeen people were killed last week at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
Daniels said that God is the "light" and "our schools need light in them like never before”
That’s certainly going to protect the kids from a nut case with an AR-15 intent on killing as many kids as he can.
Well that piece of legislation is certainly a waste of tax payer dollars.

www.vox.com/2018/2/22/17039950/gun-control-laws-military-parkland-shooting"We should act”: former top military officials tweet support for gun reform That adds to a growing veterans movement for changes to gun laws. By Alex Ward@AlexWardVoxalex.ward@vox.com Feb 22, 2018, 12:00pm EST SHARE Former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired Gen. Martin Dempsey, looks on as President Barack Obama delivers remarks after meeting with members of his national security team concerning ISIS at the Pentagon July 6, 2015, in Arlington, Virginia. Drew Angerer - Pool/Getty Images Two of America’s most respected former military leaders tweeted out their support for gun reform on Wednesday. Their voices added to a growing chorus of current and former military service members who want gun laws changed after a shooter killed 17 people at a Florida high school last week. Retired Gen. Martin Dempsey, the former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and retired Adm. William McRaven — formerly the nation’s top special operations officer — backed the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Twitter. “Our next generation of young Americans are calling for inclusion in finding solutions to keep our children safe,” Dempsey, former President Barack Obama’s top military adviser, tweeted on Wednesday. “I’m proud of them. They are right, they should be heard, we should listen, and we should act.” About four hours later, McRaven put out his own statement on Twitter: “This is exactly what we need the youth of America to do: to stand strong, to stand together, to challenges the laws that have not served them well.” Those messages are a big deal. These former military officers, especially McRaven, know what it’s like to carry around an assault rifle and kill someone with it. They understand the awesome power and responsibility that comes with wielding a weapon of war. For them to speak out an amplify the message of Parkland’s students could lend more legitimacy to their activism. And they’re not alone — other military veterans are also increasingly speaking up in favor of gun reform. “We believe in the Second Amendment and the individual right to bear arms,” Joe Plenzler, a retired 20-year Marine combat veteran who forms part of the online #VetsForGunReform movement, told me, “but we also believe that the Second Amendment is not an unlimited right.” In other words, Plenzer said, civilians shouldn’t necessarily be entitled to own and operate military-grade weaponry. “We don’t allow people to hunt rabbits with rocket-propelled grenades,” added Plenzler, who also served as an aide to current Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. Joseph Dunford and current Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis. If seeing former military officials campaign for gun law reform feels new, it’s not. It’s happened again and again after mass shootings — and it appears the current iteration is only heating up. “We need to look at everything we can do to safeguard our people” Some of the nation’s most prominent veterans have openly called for changes to gun laws for years. Here are a few examples: In 2013, retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal — who commanded America’s elite troops worldwide as well as troops in Afghanistan — came out in support of gun control. “I think serious action is necessary,” he told MSNBC’s Morning Joe in 2013. ”Sometimes we talk about very limited actions on the edges and I just don’t think that’s enough,” he continued. “The number of people in America killed by firearms is extraordinary compared to other nations. And I don’t think we’re a bloodthirsty culture, and so I think we need to look at everything we can do to safeguard our people.” Retired Gen. David Petraeus, who commanded troops in Iraq and served as Obama’s CIA director, co-created the gun control advocacy group Veterans Coalition for Common Sense in 2016. “As service members, each of us swore an oath to protect our Constitution and the homeland,” Petraeus and his co-founder, retired NASA astronaut Mark Kelly, wrote in a statement. “Now we’re asking our leaders to do more to protect our rights and save lives.” And last November, Dr. Dean Winslow, a former Air Force colonel whom President Donald Trump nominated as the Pentagon’s top health affairs official, openly derided the idea of civilians owning assault rifles. “I’d also like to, and I may get in trouble with other members of the committee, just say how insane it is that in the United States of America a civilian can go out and buy a semiautomatic assault rifle like an AR-15,” Winslow said during his own confirmation hearing. I asked Plenzler why politicians, especially Republicans, who usually support positions of current and former military officials seem to ignore their advice on gun issues. “It’s all about money,” he said, adding that he believes the National Rifle Association’s influence on politicians has blinded American leaders to the risks of civilian ownership of military-grade weapons. As of now, it seems like the Parkland students have found an audience for their activism. Many who served in uniform want to stand alongside them.

Oh oh. From CNBC.. “Despite Trump tax cuts, small-business owners won't increase employee wages” From the article... “In the Q4 installment of the survey, about a third of small-business owners said they would use their — at the time, hypothetical — windfall to "pay down debt." In second place, 22 percent of small-business owners said they would "invest in new facilities, equipment or technology," and the third most popular choice (12 percent) was to "pay for maintenance or repair of existing facilities, equipment or technology." Just 10 percent said they would raise employees' salaries.” The reality is the only business that will increase wages are those competing for and keeping skilled workers. Unfortunately that is not going to help the workers that need the increase in their wages the most. And that is another reason why the tax cut is a bust. link

Trump says he's thinking about pulling ICE from CaliforniaBy Kevin Liptak and Tal Kopan, CNN Updated 1:51 PM ET, Thu February 22, 2018 Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump declared on Thursday he was considering withdrawing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from California as punishment for what he claimed was a "lousy management job" in patrolling illegal immigration. "You know what, I'm thinking about doing it," Trump said at a roundtable with state and local officials to address ideas to stop gun violence in the wake of the Parkland school massacre. His comments came after he decried the state of law enforcement in the Golden State. More at link: www.cnn.com/2018/02/22/politics/ice-california-donald-trump/index.htmlHe is such a child! George Takei..
“By this logic, John Hinckley who tried to kill President Reagan would not have ever tried, because Reagan was surrounded by heavily-armed secret service. Madmen with weapons are dangerous and irrational. You of all people should know that.”
Our Secret Service agent’s are highly trained and will throw their body between the assailant and who they are protecting. Reagan was still shot. So George has a point.
A thought just occurred to me. If trump thinks newly trained armed teachers will deter future attacks on the schools, how about we replace his Secret Service detail with newly trained armed teachers.

Immigration agency removing 'nation of immigrants' from mission statement: reportBY MAX GREENWOOD - 02/22/18 02:26 PM EST ** The new statement reads: "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services administers the nation’s lawful immigration system, safeguarding its integrity and promise by efficiently and fairly adjudicating requests for immigration benefits while protecting Americans, securing the homeland, and honoring our values." The current statement, which is still posted on the agency's website, reads: "USCIS secures America’s promise as a nation of immigrants by providing accurate and useful information to our customers, granting immigration and citizenship benefits, promoting an awareness and understanding of citizenship, and ensuring the integrity of our immigration system." In his email, Cissna defended the changes, according to The Intercept. "In particular, referring to applicants and petitioners for immigration benefits, and the beneficiaries of such applications and petitions, as ‘customers’ promotes an institutional culture that emphasizes the ultimate satisfaction of applicants and petitioners, rather than the correct adjudication of such applications and petitions according to the law," he wrote. ** More at link: thehill.com/homenews/administration/375112-us-immigration-agency-to-remove-reference-to-us-as-nation-ofThe take out the word 'customers' ....... changing it completely....... That's why it's insane to keep letting them keep more and more in profits instead of using that money to employ people in government jobs that don't make money - caring for the elderly poor, for example.

Trump raises concerns about impact of violent movies: 'Maybe they have to put a rating system for that'
President Trump on Thursday warned about the influence of violence in movies while discussing school safety and mass shootings, suggesting it could be a contributing factor to recent mass shootings.
Trump made the comments during a meeting at the White House on school safety attended by lawmakers and top administration officials, where the president addressed a number of issues in addition to gun violence.
"We have to look at the internet, because a lot of bad things are happening to young kids and young minds, and their minds are being formed, and we have to do something about maybe what they're seeing and how they're seeing it. And also video games," Trump said, according to pool reports.
"I'm hearing more and more people say the level of violence on video games is really shaping young people's thoughts. And you go one further step and that's the movies. ... maybe they have to put a rating system for that," he added.
However, ratings systems already exist for both video games and films in the United States. The Motion Picture Association of America and Entertainment Software Rating Board both rate and classify content based on its suitability for specific audiences.
The president's remarks come a week after 17 people were killed in a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. The alleged gunman, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz, was a former student at the school and reportedly used an AR-15 rifle he legally purchased.
Trump held a "listening session" on Wednesday with parents of victims as well as survivors of last week's shooting, where the president stressed that his administration would take action to strengthen background checks for gun purchases.
"We're going to be very strong on background checks," the president said. "It's not going to be talk like it has been in the past. It's been going on too long. Too many instances, and were going to get it done."
Trump also tweeted earlier Thursday in support of raising the age required to purchase a rifle like the one used in the Parkland attack to 21, as well as banning the sale of bump stocks, which let semi-automatic rifles fire more rapidly.
"I will be strongly pushing Comprehensive Background Checks with an emphasis on Mental Health," Trump wrote on Twitter. "Raise age to 21 and end sale of Bump Stocks! Congress is in a mood to finally do something on this issue - I hope!"
Well by all means let’s get right on this here rating system you are talking about.
What an idiot.

‘I just don’t know what that means’: Trump gets completely lost during meeting on school shootingsBrad Reed BRAD REED 22 FEB 2018 AT 14:05 ET www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCBBN3SPBDIPresident Donald Trump on Thursday appeared to get completely lost during a discussion on preventing school shootings being held at the White House. During the talk, Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill talked about active measures that schools can take during shootings that can go into effect automatically without the police even being on the scene. “We also have countermeasures that can be employed by the sheriff’s department within seconds to contain the attacker and in a sense turn the attack on them,” Hill said. “That is a critical piece.” A confused Trump asked him to explain the concept of countermeasures. “I just don’t know what that means,” he said. “Honestly, I don’t know what that means.” More at link: www.rawstory.com/2018/02/just-dont-know-means-trump-gets-completely-lost-meeting-school-shootings/I believe this is about the 'Safest School' ..... www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/inside-the-safest-school-in-america-1166029891710
