And the plastic wrap on the toilet; really, why; what can be wrong with the toilet? That toilet is for the man of the house, I think......

Whoa... trying to be positive.. I did like the garage door on the inside. That was pretty cool. It's a clean house for sure.. they must have a maid that just dusts 6 days a week. Although that ceiling in the kitchen is weird, I kinda was drawn to it.. it a very weird way.. HA. I bet those antique kitchen appliances have never been used.. lol

This house makes me think she either made the best cookies and potato salad you ever had, or only ever ate take-out and had a nasty 2-pack a day smoking habit.

I am trying to picture the owners of this house. Elderly shopaholic? Eccentric gay couple? I think I know how they died. They tripped on the āobjet dāartā on the floor and hit their head on a cement statue.

Oy my eyes...Beyond all of the crap in there; I have to say the kitchen and bathrooms need to be gutted and redone. The appliances look like they are from the 60ās or 70ās. And the plastic wrap on the toilet; really, why; what can be wrong with the toilet? If I suddenly woke up with those statues staring at me; it would probably scare me to death. Itās possible that the house has been winterized and the water has been turned off. When we were house hunting in the wintertime, we toured a few foreclosure houses that had been winterized and the toilets had plastic over the seats to prevent people from using them or flushing them. That could also explain why it can only be shown on sunny days if the electricity has been shut off too.

It looked like the plastic was on the floor, too, unless there was simply that much excess plastic and for whatever reason they opted not to size it more appropriately. Given how meticulous everything else is that really stood out to me, too.

Ouch! My eyes, my eyes! Where is the eye bleach? I hate visual clutter. It hurts my brain. I could only make it a 1/3 of the way through before I had to turn it off.
If I was seeing that house in person I'd be the one stumbling out of the front door with my hands in front of my eyes moaning.
Isn't it funny how people have such different tastes? I love mid-century designs. Houses from the 60-70's (structurally, not the crazy patterned 70's wallpapered ones we've seen here before) with clean angled lines, lots of window space. Inside I am partial to mid century teak furniture from Denmark, and clean classic furnishings. Things that are soft on the eye. Like ivory paint and white on the trim. Color will come from the furnishings. I hate clutter like I mentioned above so I've always believed a place for everything and everything in it's place. I hate cold metal so I prefer natural products for storage like baskets. Light natural wood floors like maple-doesn't show the dirt with warm area rugs made of wool on top. And bookcases. Bookcases everywhere.
Sorry for going off tangent.

What fresh hell is this? All of that in under 2000 sq ft. My goodness y'all I don't even know what to say. And why can we only view it on sunny days lol? Damn that is a lot going on. And the realtor mentions the it comes with the Frididaire appliances c. 1951 - as if that's a selling point?

I want to sit and drink coffee and crochet in this groovy room. Seriously would fit with my house. And somebody please buy it and send me the end table! At the very least I must have that. Funny you say that because the only thing I saw in the whole place I liked was that orange chair!

Are we sure "everything included" doesn't also mean the dead owners? I swear, that picture could be from a mortuary and their caskets might be under that velvet drape. Bonus is the cremated pets stored in lovely boxes at the foot of the casket. Quick, which pea lives nearby and has a sunny day free to check out my theory? HAHA - I used to live a few blocks away, the surrounding neighborhood is filled with blight and is not very safe.Ā I can't imagine they will get the asking price. I currently live about 3 1/2Ā miles from here, my niece is a realtor, maybe I can finagle my way into a showing... on a sunny day!Ā Ā We need you to get the scoop on this house! What is the story behind it and the owners?! Careers, interests, hobbies, kids selling it?!

Is that a crocheted ceiling in the brown/orange snug type room? I saw that too! I think one room had carpeted ceilings as well. Those dolls in the dining room...stuff of nightmares! Did you see all of the black trash bags???

They tripped on the āobjet dāartā on the floor and hit their head on a cement statue. He said not dead. I found an article about the house. It don't know how to link it via mobile. Someone who can should look it up and post. It's titled: "Story behind $550k Detroit home...". Thanks for sharing this listing, OP. Great fun. I can't imagine living there! Whoever said it looked like a mash up of Liberace and Brady Bunch is right on. I think My house has a lot of clutter, but mine looks empty and spacious compared to this.

Darn auto correct. I meant to say, The owner is not dead and there's a picture of him in the article I mentioned.

I don't think the guy cooked, based on all the stuff on the counter in front of the ovens/microwave. Unless he didn't actually live there...

Wow, the article said thereās a safe room there too! Those creepy dolls sitting at the table scared me and I could never sleep with those statues standing around my bed like that. I was really surprised that the owner was still alive, I totally thought it was heirs trying to unload all that crap.

Here is a video from a news station. Video about weird house and interview with its ownerAnd for those of you ohhhing and Ahhing over the ceiling in the brown and orange room. ITS CARPET! The interview news lady touched it! Also, My oldest and I were sitting here looking at all the pics. it appears as if there is a covered "walkway/hallway" in the front yard, that goes down to the basement. Maybe it was made for parties? it could explain the outdoor covered "hallway" and the tons of tables and chairs. Maybe they play BINGO on the weekend!
