You know what’s really a disgrace, Trump? That you’re President.

I want them to do a forensic search to see if Cohen was in Europe when the dossier says he was. Manafort already proved that these scum buckets have multiple passports. And even if they didn't find a second passport, he had to make his travel arrangements somewhere where there will be a record.

It looks as if it wasn't a swamp that needed clearing but a cesspool. The whole lot of them are drowning in it.

A couple of questions and observations on this>
Why is Cohen in a hotel ( was his apartment or office in Trump Towers damaged from fire?)
Didn't Trump already throw Cohen under the bus when he stated that he (Trump) knew nothing about the payment to Stormy (in his conversations with the press last week on AF1) First of all no attorney can act on behalf of their client without the clients knowledge so either Cohen just set himself up ti lose his license to practice law. If Stormy gets to depose Trump, then Trumps statement can be proven/disproven
And now Stormy can tell her story if there is no NDA between her and Trump
Also, this search was done under the NY ATtorney General and Trump cannot pardon under a State crime. I have always felt that Trump was going to go down under the New York Attorney General.

I'm waiting to see how Trump responds to this. He is not going to be happy, especially with the AG's office signing off on this. Firings to come? in any other case, i don't think trump would hesitate to throw anyone under the bus to save himself. but, cohen knows where all the bodies are buried so trump is going to have to handle this with kid gloves. there is a lot cohen can't discuss under attorney/client privilege but i have no doubt he could find a way to give up trump if it meant saving himself. When will one of these guys start singing like a canary? That's the way it always goes down with the mob. I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet, or maybe we just don't know about it. He was also involved in a lot of the pay-to-play nonsense with Moscow Trump Tower and Ukraine issues. He certainly does know where the bodies are buried. Sad to say, but I wonder if anyone is on the Russian hit list because they know too much...

He is supposedly in the hotel because a pipe burst at his home.
And it was done out of the US Attorney's office of the Southern District of New York at the direction of Rod Rosenstein so this is still a federal crime/investigation.

“But her emails...” never gets old for these crooks, does it.
How many criminal investigations can one circle of “colleagues” have going on at one time? Amazing.

Trump calls Michael Cohen raid "an attack on our country” From CNN's Kevin Liptak President Trump in his harshest words to date on the investigation called the FBI raid on his personal attorney Michael Cohen “an attack on our country” saying it was a “whole new level of unfairness.”
Read his reaction:
“So I just heard that they broke into the office of one of my personal attorneys, a good man and it's a disgraceful situation. It's a total witch-hunt. I've been saying it for a long time. I've wanted to keep it down. We've given I believe over a million pages worth of documents to the special counsel. They continue to just go forward and here we are talking about Syria, we're talking about a lot of serious things with the greatest fighting force ever and I have this witch-hunt constantly going on for over 12 months now and actually much more than that. You could say it was right after I won the nomination it started. And it's a disgrace, it's a real disgrace. It's an attack on our country in a true sense. It's an attack on what we all stand for so when I saw this and when I heard it, I heard it like you did, I said that is really now in a whole new level of unfairness. So this has been going on, I saw one of the reporters who is not necessarily a fan of mine, not necessarily very good to me, he said in effect that this is ridiculous, this is now getting ridiculous. They found no collusion whatsoever with Russia, the reason they found it is there was no collusion at all. No collusion. This is the most biased group of people, these people have the biggest conflicts of interest I've ever seen. Democrats all -- or just about all, either Democrats or a couple of Republicans that worked for president Obama. They're not looking at the other side. They're not looking at the Hillary Clinton horrible things that she did and all of the crimes that were committed. They're not looking at all of the things that happened that everybody is very angry about, I can tell you, from the Republican side and I think even the independent side. They only keep looking at us so they find no collusion and then they go from there and they say well, let's keep going and they raid an office of a personal attorney early in the morning and I think it's a disgrace. So we'll talk about it more but this is the most conflicted group of people I've ever seen. “

I'm patiently awaiting the inevitable grousing that the Bureau sending a couple dozen agents to two Cohen locations is going to stretch resources to the point that the other 15,000 agents (and 20,000 additional employees) won't be able to follow up on warnings about potential school shooters. (Left unexamined in that argument is the fact that DC field agents are often, if not routinely, assigned to political investigations ... Watergate, Iran Contra, Valerie Plane, maybe a thing or two to do with people named Clinton.)

Amazing. well, with 22 indictments with guilty pleas so far, (19 people 3 corporations )he has already surpassed the G W Bush administration on indictments& convictions, they had 16 if each. I’m sure by the end of the month, if not by the end of the week, he can surpass the 26 indictments ( only 16 convictions tho ) from the Reagan administration. Mind you, G W Bush and Reagan both took a whole 8 years to accomplish that. Trump has done it in just over a year. He sure does hire ‘the best’

I also hope that a grown-up will restrain him from starting a war or entering into the Syrian war. Don’t count on it; Bolton is now the NSA, and he seems to think of himself as a sort of walking, talking, rigid warrior penis. Let's see if Bolton gets confirmed. I'm not so sure about that one. He has quite a history and a lot of enemies. ETA: Excuse me, I'm completely wrong. He doesn't need confirmation and started the job today. But he does still have a history and enemies.

I actually feel a bit guilty that I am feeling a sense of schaudenfreude about this. He is the president, on one hand. But on the other hand, he is a clueless man who apparently has zero curiosity about the true nature of his job. My bottom line: this guy is bad for the country.

The President of the United States appoints the US Attorneys for the various districts. Trump appointed the current US Attorney overseeing this investigation. All of the US Attorneys are members of the US Dept. of Justice serving under Rod Rosenstein/Jeff Sessions. Mueller brought the information he had to Rosenstein because he felt he had evidence of a crime which fell outside the parameters of his investigation. Rosenstein reviewed and referred to the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York to obtain the search warrants which were then executed by FBI Agents from the NY field office. This is all still under federal purview but getting rid of Rosenstein now won't do anything about the local investigation. Trump still has the power to pardon though.
This is different than an investigation by the NY Attorney General which would result in state crimes if applicable.

Someone from the NY Times just tweeted (sorry, my twitter timeline is moving fast and I didn't screenshot) that the raid was carried out in part by the Public Corruption Office of the local FBI field office which indicates that criminal misconduct of a public official is involved.
