I recommend a couple of easy reads:
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah ... a story about a teen who moves to Alaska with her dysfunctional parents in the 1970's
The Woman In the Window by A.J. Finn ... a thriller that features a woman who has agoraphobia

Far From the Tree, by Robin Benway. It is about 3 adopted siblings who find each other. It won an award and is a YA book. I loved it.

I stayed up late last night to finish Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. It was a difficult read, as it involves the death of an infant, but it was *so* hard to put down.

I loved the last Harry Bosch novel by Michael Connelly, Two Kinds of Truth. If you like the show Bosch, on Prime, this is the series of books it's based on.

Then She was Gone by Lisa Jewell. I half listened on audio and then read the rest. The audio was great because the narrator was British and this was set in London.
About a girl who goes missing and her family looks for her for years never giving up but trying to survive. Many years later, the mom meets a man in a cafe and meets his daughter, who looks exactly like her missing daughter.
It was really good! I’m currently reading another book by the same author.
Also liked The Baker’s Secret about a girl during the war who would bake bread for her village and then for the invading army.

I, Zombie by Hugh Howie. If you enjoy The Walking Dead you might like this. It's told from the point of view of the undead, whose minds are still intact inside their zombie bodies. Pretty gory, but tragic and riveting. I think he's a great writer. Another one by him is the Wool omnibus.

Steph, if you're looking for beachy reads I enjoyed the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. They're fluffy, but fun.
If you want a serious read, I couldn't pull myself away from Memoirs of a Geisha. It's mesmerizing.

I haven't ready it yet, but I've been hearing great things about I'll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara (Oswald Patton's wife who passed away a couple of years ago). It's about the Golden State Killer crimes and by all accounts, she was "obsessed" with the case and all the details of it.

If you haven't read Behind Closed Doors by B A Paris, it is one of the best thrillers I've ever read. Had me gasping at several things in it.

So many of these mentioned here are amazing.
Before We Were Yours and The Alice Network were two of my top three fave reads in 2017. My other top read was an older book, A Fine Balance. Simply stunning.
I will also mention four others that I have read and loved this year.
Beartown Girls Burn Brighter - this has really stuck with me! The Home for Unwanted Girls, which is based on horrifying and tragic historical facts. White Chrysanthemum - so incredibly well written.

Finn ... a thriller that features a woman who has agoraphobia I am reading The Woman in the Window right now. It got good reviews but I am about 160 pages in and am tired of her getting drunk and popping pills and explaining her depressing family situation and agoraphobia. I am very close to stopping the book. Does it get any better!
