I don’t know why, but I am craving egg salad. I didn’t grow up with it and have probably only had it a handful of times. But I went to the store and bought a bunch of stuff for it because I can’t get the idea out of head haha.
So tell me: What’s in your favorite egg salad recipe?
Celery? Relish? Dill pickles? Sweet pickles? Herbs? Dijon? Worcestershire? Etc...
Bonus points for a link to a recipe. TIA!

I tend to like my egg salad pretty plain but it does vary.
Sometimes it is as simple as chopped eggs, enough mayo to hold them together and a little salt/pepper. THat is the starting point for all my other variations.
Maybe a dash of tabasco sauce or a little cayenne pepper.
Other times I like to add some diced onion and a sprinkle of dill weed (either dried or fresh) or if I don't have any dill add some finely minced dill pickle or relish.

Mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, green onion, celery. No recipe, pretty simple, just eyeball it. One time I made it so perfectly that I ate it for 7 meals straight, breakfast included. Unfortunately I can’t seem to reproduce it so now my egg salad tastes like disappointment and I have quit making it.

Usually just mayo, a tiny bit of mustard, finely diced onion and celery and salt/pepper. But I also like the variation with crispy bacon.
Now I want egg salad. Time to boil some eggs!

Since I don't make it all that often I pull out my Betty Crocker cookbook when I do. Basic & good.

I'm a simplist with egg salad. Chopped eggs, a little Hellmans mayo, salt, pepper, and chopped chives. Conveniently, I made hard boiled eggs yesterday! I know what I'm having for breakfast.

I must have egg salad now. I am headed to the InstaPot for perfect hard boiled eggs.
I'm an eyeballer as well. I like a smidge of honey mustard, a smidge of horseradish, mayo and dijon in equal parts. Salt, pepper, chives and paprika.
Mine is always so good. I must have this now!

Cook the eggs in the Instant Pot, if you have one! They turn out perfect every time! I like mayo (Duke's), a tiny bit of mustard and sweet pickle relish. Sometimes sub white wine vinegar for the pickle relish. Crispy, chopped bacon makes them wonderful. Also, you can sub mashed avocado for half of the mayonnaise. SaveSave

I was craving egg salad and made it last night to take to work for my dinner. I like mine pretty simple...eggs, green olives, mayo, salt, and pepper. Eggs and olives chopped small. All on a yummy onion roll from one of my favorite bakeries.

super simple here - chopped eggs (by hand -not in the mini-chopper - they taste better uneven), mayo, a pinch of dill weed, optional finely chopped onions

I am not an egg salad fan, but my daughter is.
She made an egg salad a couple of weeks ago and instead of using the mayo to hold it together she used avocado. So, there is my egg salad contribution.

Just mustard and mayo.
And then spread it on very soft white bread.

As others, I make my eggs in the instant pot. My recipe is eyeballing, too.
Chopped eggs (I usually mash with a fork), mayo or miracle whip, a tiny bit of ketchup and salt & pepper. Bacon would be great! I haven't done that before.

Celery? Relish? Dill pickles? Sweet pickles? Herbs? Dijon? Worcestershire? Etc... Definitely none of that. Like others, I like my egg salad simple.

I like dill in mine. That and some celery for crunch. I prefer Miracle whip tp mayo and like just a squirt of mustard.

Also, you can sub mashed avocado for half of the mayonnaise. Mind. Blown. Must try this! I usually make it with mayo, salt, and pepper. If I'm going fancy, i add a tiny bit of relish, some onion powder, and a shake or two of mustard powder. Maybe some dill, especially if I have some fresh. I love finely shopped celery in it, but I loathe chopping celery, so i only get that if DH makes the egg salad!

I semi frequently take egg salad sandwiches to work for lunch. My sandwich is two hard boiled eggs but give one of the yolks to the dogs. Too much yolk makes me gag. A little bit of mayo - too much is gross! Generous pepper, and generous chopped green onions. That’s it. I like simple. Bacon would be really yummy but one of the reasons I like to make egg salad is to not have meat since most of my other lunch option contain meat.

But I am sorry for your disappointment I have never been able to make oatmeal cookies like my mom, so I finally quit trying.

Here's my go to formula. It's all eyeballed. Two boiled eggs, mayo, mustard, about 5 slices of pickles chopped finely. Then the spices. Oh yes, the spices! Salt, pepper, a dash of cayenne, dash of paprika, dash of sage, and a heart shake of the poultry seasoning mix. If your mix is heavy sage feel free to not double up. I prefer to use ground white pepper - because no reason other than once I used it and it was perfect and I chase the perfect one every time. And it must be on toast.

I love egg salad!! I think mine is just chopped eggs (by hand), a little Miracle Whip (or generic), tiny bit of mustard and dill pickle relish or chopped pickles.
I also love tuna salad, and I love to add chopped eggs to it. Mmmmm.

I'm so disappointed!!! I tried to make my egg salad for breakfast, but somehow I soft boiled my eggs yesterday instead of hard boiling them. Yucky cold goopy yolks slimed all over the place. Boo.
How the heck did I do that? I make hard boiled eggs almost every week. Now I need to go buy more eggs - those were the last two.

I'm an odd bird, but I love egg salad on toast. I rough chop using an egg slicer, add enough mayo that it's creamy, a bit of mustard, paprika, salt, pepper and dill.
