Karl the Fog.., Current view of San Francisco: ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ ☁️☁️☁️☁️🌁☁️☁️☁️☁️ I like Karl the Fog. I have seen the Golden Gate Bridge like this many times during my commuting days. You mean...like this? that is a gorgeous photo!! (by the way, a view quite similar to that was my very first look at the Grand Canyon!! I had to just 'trust' that it was out there... lol!)

4) “Barack Obama: "The fact that countries which rely on rabid nationalism and xenophobia and doctrines of religious or racial superiority as their main organizing principle ... Eventually those countries find themselves consumed by civil or external war." (via CBS)” ^^^ unfortunately, this sounds very much like what's going on in the US right now- or at least what the ultra conservative Republicans in power are trying to accomplish. And I agree, stories like that never have a happy ending. His speech was wonderful, the parts that I saw. He was referring to the US, but ever the diplomat, never mentioned anyone by name. There was no doubt that the people that were listening to it also knew who he was talking about. Here's a BBC video of some of it about FACTS!

ABC News..
“JUST IN: Asked by @ceciliavega whether Russia was "still targeting the U.S.," Pres. Trump says "no." abcn.ws/2zLP2t4”
I think we all know that isn’t true.

So, apparently, the brooch HRH wore to meet Trump was the one given to her by Barack and Michelle Obama. They chose and paid for it out of pocket to give to her. If that wasn't a backhanded statement I don't know what is lol No the one she wore when she met Trump was the one she wore at her father's funeral. On the first day of the Trump visit, the Queen wore a simple green brooch that was given to her by the Obama's to signify their friendship. On the second day, she wore a brooch given to her by Canada, a country with which Trump is less than pleased at the moment (also, it was in the shape of a snowflake, a classic Trump term for people who disagree with him.) And, for the last day, she chose a brooch she wore to the funeral of her father, so not one associated with happiness and joythis write up is pretty funny the way it's written LINK especially this opening paragraph What fashion lessons can we learn from Trump’s visit?
Nancy, London
Well, none from Trump himself, other than the obvious; when meeting the Queen, it is best not to wear a suit that looks as if you found it at the bottom of a dry-cleaning pile and, for the love of God, button the jacket, man. Look at the state of you.

WTF?
I don't get the constant making shit up. I really don't get it. And what a stupid thing to make up!
Same here. Half of the crap he makes up is so stupid and inconsequential (and easy to fact check) that it’s seriously just insane. Lying to get out of trouble or about something that would be harder to determine if it was true later? I don’t like it, but I can understand why people do that. But it’s all the lying just to lie that I completely can’t wrap my head around. I was saying as much to DH last Sunday. It’s absolutely nuts. And to top that off. The groups of people who still believe him -take every tweet- as total truth. Never once fact checking for themselves, and if a fact is placed before them they will ignore it and keep on believing the lies. I simply can not fathom it

He was a part of Milo’s team of trolls for the longest time. I never had any personal contact with him, but I can’t say the tragedy he created surprises me. The people who spew the hateful sludge he did are either unbalanced or sociopaths. Geez, like others I thought he went away and found something else to do. Reminds me of Todd Kincannon, who became a RW poster boy. The crazier his Twitter feed got, the more attention and kudos he received from his toxic audience. Then he wigged out and everything fell apart for him.

This is beyond the pale. Giving up innocent people to a murderous dictator. I'd say Putin has him by the balls, but he has none.

And to think, six years ago today, the scandal that rocked the nation and left the future of democracy in doubt was that President Obama wore a tan suit.
Simpler times....

My first read through, I can see both sides to this. I can see wanting to protect individual donors' privacy especially in this political climate. However, HUGE caveat...not if they are foreign. Knowing what we now know it is foolish, at best, to allow that. We need that transparency because obviously the NRA has been able to sidestep campaign finance regulations for a while now. And they just made it easier for that to continue to happen. What do y'all think? What nuance of this am I missing?

Interesting at who those being interviewed are: Ahhh, Yes, Meshawn Maddock. I couldn't remember where I knew her from, read a few articles about her around election time. She's a big time cultist. Those others aren't just "average" Michiganders either. But they are members of the cult.

And they just made it easier for that to continue to happen. It is not just Russian/NRA money that is hidden. If you are exercising your rights to donate to a political cause, or politician, then you should own it, and not be hidden. This is a disclosure to the IRS, and not generally public knowledge. However, I want to know what companies I deal with and how they spend the money the earn from my purchases. They have a choice to contribute to candidates and causes they choose, I as a consumer, have a right to know if the money I spend at a business, contributes to cause hat run counter to my beliefs. The former rule also acted as a checks and balances. Again, that is now gone. But the main point is that as we focus on one aspect of this administration, they are pushing policies and rules that affect the middle and lower class, and favor the big cash cows. Just like they rolled back laws protecting consumers (Dodds-Frank act) when another of the cheetos diversion tactics was going on. As all the drama continues, this Congress and agencies, keep sneaking stuff past us.

Maybe I need to go reread, I thought this was only about individuals' personal contributions over $5,000? I absolutely think company donations should be made public. And I realize that it is not just the NRA/Russia. My meaning was that I think this change will make it easier for back door funding like that to continue.
