I remember reading somewhere that this trick doesn't work on the Kindle Fire. How about the Kindle Paperwhite? I guess when I get it on Wednesday I can test it. It works with the paperwhite. I had that before the voyage.

At least, I hope you do. My husband ended up ordering one for himself yesterday after seeing me use mine as my clock/sound machine for the past 5 months.

Well it’s marginally better today. But within 5 minutes of opening the app my phone was up to 105 degrees. And I don’t see now how to watch deals. The drag and drop method they showed doesn’t work. The app is super laggy and keeps closing or just freezes.

The app is super laggy and keeps closing or just freezes. That sucks. I finally was able to look last night late and found the deal I wanted for the extra inner pot (25% off). I also bought a long chenille type microfiber rug that I wanted for the lake, some work gloves DH was wanting, and a couple dresses that might work for the two cruises I’m taking next year. I put a couple other things on my shopping list to think about so I can find them again quickly later if I decide to pull the trigger.

I got the Bose noise canceling headphones - for $125 instead of $300 I did too. My current NC headphones are a cheapy off-brand, and while they work just fine the earpiece broke and I had to gorilla glue it back on. Now they don't fold to fit into the case...and we have trips planned that I want to take them on. FWP, I know. I asked DH and he said "Bose for $125? Yes get them!"

Okay, good to know. So the day we leave, just turn it on airplane mode until we get home. Thanks, Peas. I'm guessing I might not have to buy the Amazon deal then since I can get books from the 2 libraries in the area. I remember reading somewhere that this trick doesn't work on the Kindle Fire. It will work with the KF, but you won't be able to use it as a tablet since it's in airplane mode and wi-fi off. But if you just want a book reader it will work.

I have to use my pc because the app just won't work-so I haven't been able to get the special $5 off deals from the app.

I bought the Nintendo NES Classic with 30 retro games from the Amazon Truck for $59.99. They apparently started manufacturing them again in the last month or two. Woo-hoo!

I just got a generic clarisonic for $15. I've been wanting to try a face brush but didn't want to spend big $$ until I know if I like it. The generic one actually has better reviews although I don't always trust that at amazon anymore.

Wonder if the people on the DIS board were referring to a newer version of the KF, but several reported that it didn't work for Overdrive ebooks. cadoodlebug, you'll have to try this and report back.

Maybe that's it. I have the 2nd ver KF. But I don't use Overdrive to actually read I use Kindle App. I request books from my library using Overdrive then when I click "Borrow" another button comes up that says "Read now with Kindle". When I click that it takes me to Amazon and I click "Get Library Book". I can deliver it to any of my devices - KV, Phone, Tablet or KF . ETA: Maybe it also could be the library. I'm accessing the Northern California Digital Library through Overdrive.

I wasn't planning to buy anything, and I should have just not even looked, but then I ended up ordering a Sprinkler System Smart Timer: Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller$100 off with great reviews. I couldn't resist. I hate adjusting the sprinklers.

Can I also recommend one of these types of furniture dollies? They're about $20 (maybe $15 if you have a Harbor Freight near you) and are AMAZING for moving stuff in a different way than you can do with the hand truck dolly. The hand truck is awesome for boxes, appliances, things you can stand up on end. The furniture dolly is awesome to slide under things. We saw our movers using one and then picked one up because we were still moving furniture around, and WOW - wish I'd bought this thing 10 years ago. www.homedepot.com/p/800-lb-Capacity-Wood-Moving-Dolly-WFD1830/202259417

How does the truck thing work? After seeing the post earlier I checked and it was scheduled to be not 2 miles from me several hours later but it was also shown as sold out too? But it still had one more stop scheduled (45 minutes away) later this evening. And do they sell out fast? Are there crazy hoards of people?
It would have been a super fun retro holiday gift for my 28 yo old son. He and his dad had that and also Nintendo 64. Just hearing Super Mario Bros music brings back such specific memories ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

I didn't have anything super specific in mind, but knew I wouldn't mind buying a TV. I ended up with a 49" LG smart TV for $150 off. I bought the 43" version in November and really like it. Then I bought a desktop power strip (exciting, right), a car mount for my phone (finally), and then got $40 on this PEDESTAL FAN I hope it's as quiet as it says. I'd love not to have to crank the TV and/or music to hear them over the fan.

You have to prebuy and then select your pick up location. I jumped on it as soon as I saw it come in. My sister will love her Christmas gift this year. She has been wanting one since these launched two(?!) years ago.

I did all my shopping today. Much easier to get through!! I got 3 packs of Epson photo paper 1/2 price (I have a BUNCH of pics to print so I'm "collecting" paper for when I start printing), DD bought an 8 pack of lip smackers lip balm(I bought it, she paid me with her allowance), and we got DD an Echo Dot for her Birthday next month. She has been asking for a week to do extra chores so she could buy one on Prime Day. LOL I keep telling her I can't get on, we saw on the news about the clog up on Amazon so she believes me.

I found one more thing to buy tonight, a dual alarm clock FM radio with Bluetooth for $15 off. Our old dual alarm has been on its last leg for a while now and is easily close to 25 years old so I was happy that this one popped up to replace it before it totally died.
