"Meanwhile, Mr. Manafort faces a second trial on seven more criminal charges [snip] The charges include money laundering, failure to register as a foreign agent and obstruction of justice." More bravery. Seven more braverys. Kinda’ heartwarming in a folksy, long-suffering male way. Might inspire a remake of the Shawshank Redemption.

Say what?!?! Has Hatch lost it!!
Hatch after Cohen plea deal: 'I think Trump is a much better person today than he was then' BY ARIS FOLLEY - 08/22/18 11:09 PM EDT
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said he thinks President Trump is a “much better person today” than he was in his past, one day after his former longtime lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts of fraud and campaign finance violations and implicated the president in a felony.
“Eight years ago to 10 years ago, Trump was not what I consider to be a pillar of virtue,” Hatch, the Senate’s senior Republican member, told The New York Times in an interview published Wednesday. “I think he has changed a lot of his life once he was elected. I think Trump is a much better person today than he was then.”
Hatch’s remarks come shortly after Cohen pleaded guilty to charges of bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance law violations in a New York courtroom on Tuesday. Cohen said he broke campaign finance laws "in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office," indirectly referencing the president. ** “I think most people in this country realize that Donald Trump comes from a different world. He comes from New York City, he comes from a slam-bang, difficult world,” Hatch told the Times.
“It is amazing he is as good as he is. If anything, you have to give him plaudits for the way he has run the country as president,” he added. ** More at link: thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/403193-gop-senator-after-cohen-plea-deal-i-think-trump-is-a-much

From the Boston Globe (article about Trump's interview with FOX & Friends)
Trump claims people who decide to cooperate with the government ‘‘make up stories’’ and Trump claims people who decide to cooperate with the government ‘‘make up stories’’ and ‘‘just make up lies.’’ Here’s what the president says: ‘‘It’s called flipping and it almost ought to be illegal.’’ He says ‘‘it’s not a fair thing.’’
‘‘If I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash. I think everybody would be very poor.’’ Trump says Americans would see economic ‘‘numbers that you wouldn’t believe in reverse.’’

Well, at least she did the right thing by convicting him even though she has bought into trumps idea that Manafort is a victim and was “in the wrong place at the wrong time”, leading Him to get caught breaking the law.

Here's another one. Betsy DeVos is considering allowing federal educational grants to pay for guns to arm teachers. Only the best people.

Oren Hatch is 84, and along with several other demented old men still serving in the Senate, should retire, or at least submit to a mental acuity test.
Amazing how these spineless Republicans can spin anything.
Character is not a regional issue. You either have it or you don't, and Agent Orange has none, nada, nothing.

Soooo... it’s totally okay for someone to commit a crime as long as they never get caught? Alrighty then. I’m glad the lady quoted did finally come around, but it’s pretty telling that a percentage of people are still willing to let some really serious things slide despite all the evidence presented proving guilt. Unbelievable.

Yes, well, there *are* all those bears out there lurking around outside in the schoolyards and all. Never know when a gun might come in handy. That woman is seriously whack.

David Axelrod...
“.@potus mind-blowing quote of the day: “I don’t know how you can impeach someone who is doing a great job?”
Let’s be clear, he has done nothing positive. Nothing. What he is doing is riding on the coat tails of President Obama.

Kyle Griffin...
“Ex-Trump attorney and long time friend Jay Goldberg says that the American public should be worried that Trump can't "be counted on to tell the truth."
Duh!

Kyle Griffin...
“Fox News poll: Do you favor or oppose Medicare for All?
46% Favor 31% Oppose 23% Don't know
Is health care the responsibility of American government?
63% Yes 30% No”
I wonder if trump labeled this poll “fake news” while watching Fox during his executive time?

Laurence Tribe has the best take on that ridiculous comment trump made yesterday...
“Trump tells FOX, pointing at his own head, “I can’t be impeached. You would be poor without me.” Recall when he said “I alone can fix it”? He really meant it — and really thinks he’s beyond the reach of law because of his imagined genius at doing stuff.”

I live in a good sized city in Colorado. We had a bear climb up on a power line and broke it. We lost power at the school for the rest of the day and the bear didn't survive. We also kept the kids in school until the end of the day. Bears happen!!!

Fox News..,, .”@alandersh: "Every candidate violates the election laws when they run for president...here they're trying to elevate this into an impeachable offense or a felony against the president." #Tucker” Bullsh!t, Tucker. Wrong is wrong. We don't (and shouldn't) accept "but everyone's doing it!" from our children. We sure as hell shouldn't accept it from our candidates and elected officials. You're right we shouldn't accept it, so don't forget that Obama violated election laws. From Politico in 2013... "President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign was fined $375,000 by the Federal Election Commission for campaign reporting violations — one of the largest fees ever levied against a presidential campaign, POLITICO has learned." And spare us all the "it's different when Obama does it" mantra that never fails to follow.

Except, Cohen had an office in Trump Tower and was VP of finance for the Trump Org. He was also finance officer for the RNC!!
Boy, how he likes to spin. Manafort was a coffee boy and he doesn’t recall knowing Felix Sater....next he'll claim Don Jr and Ivanka aren’t his kids!

Trump also had to pay fines for the same thing. But what we are talking about here IS a different crime and to point to Obama at every turn is very old.
