I found a cute gingham gingham shirt at Factory Jcrew. its a small gingham, which works well for my body, in black and white. Might check there. I will have to look for that. Living on a farm, I have a serious Elly May complex when it comes to gingham š thats funny! Try it out. It was waaaaay cuter on than it was on the hanger. I bought mine last weekend, with the hopes it would be on the list. Now, I do have a blue gingham and I always feel 'farmerish' when I wear it. But the black makes it less-farmy.

I signed up!
I have a hard time with gingham, since thatās the āuniformā at my familyās restaurant... I have plenty of those shirts already. And Iām really not feeling the vest, just seems like added bulk that I donāt need.
Iāve added a few things to my online carts, though, and will āshopā more when I get home tonight.

I really want to do this challenge but I know myself and it will cause me to want to buy too much. I love seeing what everyone is wearing though!

I'm intrigued by this but I gotta say the $40 price tag is holding me back a bit. Anyhow, would it be worth it for a SAHM? Or will I revert back to my comfortable jeans and an oversized hoodie? I did the spring and lasted about 10 days, then I was back to comfy faded jeans, hoodie and [gasp!] a vest. Because of the challenge I do have nicer clothes when we go out to dinner but for daytime my old habits don't die. Maybe if I was still working I could stick with it.

I would love to do it but I did the summer challenge - bought a bunch of stuff and barely followed the outfits or wore it Still might sign up for fall for the fun of it I bought the spring one and didnāt follow it, either. For the most part I like my clothes and style. However, I do need help getting out of my comfort zone sometimes. I buy some things (like colored jeans) and then donāt wear them. So the challenge helped with that a little. I agree about finding exact items, although I am one that needs to follow the ārulesā. If I am using a recipe, I have a really hard time not improvising. Same with a scrapbook sketch. If I donāt have a part of the recipe, I search out all of the items rather than sub an item or go without. Iām working on that.

AH! I LOVE to shop and the hunt was actually fun for me, but I'm happy that a majority of the items I do already have. I went ahead and bought the work wear so I'm waiting for that but I also modify the seasonal challenges to wear to work too on casual days. I bought a maroon puffy vest at Old Navy that I had my eye on. 8when does the work wear one cone out?

I'm mostly a SAHM (my kids are older and I have a part-time job). I started last winter with GYPO, but didn't follow along a ton, then in Spring I bought almost all the items, but I don't follow the daily prompts 'cause I'm a rebel like that. LOL I take all the combos and wear the one that fits my mood on any particular day. I didn't love the summer challenge, but am really looking forward to Fall. All that to say....I very rarely wear jeans and a hoodie out and about anymore! I don't dress up really, but I think about what I'm wearing and it's just as easy to put on a cute jacket or cardigan as it is a hoodie. My friends have noticed that I dress nicer too and I get compliments at work all the time.

Iām in - first timer. May I ask why people on the FB group seem to be concerned with getting exact(ish) pieces when the whole challenge is written so generally? If you donāt like the suggested dress, buy a different one, no? Or no dress - isnāt that kind of the beauty of the challenge? My solid shirts wonāt be teal and burgundy, my puffer jacket is grey and I, for one, won't be buying new shoes - no leopard, no boots, no. Iāve noticed the same thing too and it bothers me to some extent. I quite often see people saying (just as an example) āIām subbing a blue shirt instead of the pink oneā when really the prompt said a ābrightā shirt . Or theyāll say āIām subbing pants instead of shortsā, when really the prompt was bottoms. A lot of people try to follow the picture of the prompt exactly. I tend to follow the description of the prompt rather than the picture. Even still, the Facebook group has been very helpful in getting my confidence up to try new things! Pam

I am very excited about the fall challenge! I do have grey jeans and black jeans on my shopping list. Not because of the challenge, but because I've been needing to update mine anyway. I already have all the other basic clothing pieces, so I think I'm going to focus on investing in comfortable shoes. Trying to find metallic ones that aren't too shiny, not sure yet about leopard print (I've never liked it buy maybe I'll cave and get the belt). I can't ever see myself wearing riding boots, but I could go for some booties in a couple different colors. Pam WHAT!?! Leopard is my favorite! Embrace the leopard! LOL LOL, I caved but not on a belt. I had a hard time finding a belt that was large enough in the plus size but then it was $25 which Iām not willing to spend on a belt when all of my shirts cover my waist band anyway. I never tuck shirts in so the belt isnāt going to show. But I found leopard flats at Walmart very cheap. So Iām getting there. I can handle this small amount of leopard. Also found gold ballet flats there too that arenāt super sparkly. And if I end up hating either one, they were only $8 each š Pam

This is my first challenge. I live in an area where all of our department stores have closed within the last year. I pretty much have to buy my clothes online. I loved all of the links and the list of substitutions. Because I started following her blog, I had several of the items on the list. I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon first. I put some items in a cart and am waiting for a sale. I can't pay full price at Loft knowing that in a week or so I'll get an email saying everything is 40% off. I was wishing that our Penneys store had not closed. I would have been able to get a lot of items there. As someone who does not like to shop but wants to look nice, this is perfect for me. Well worth the $39.
Do any of you have friends or coworkers who also do this? I shared the blog with a coworker last year when we were complaining about the lack of shopping opportunities. We are both doing this challenge. We decided that it's not going to bother us if we show up wearing really similar outfits. It has given us something fun to talk about.

I signed up for the fall list.
I donāt love most of the clothes. Iām not wearing a denim shirt, and Iām not wearing a gingham shirt. Iām not too keen on the metallic shoes.
Going to attempt to do some online shopping this weekend. We will see.

I can't wait to see everyone's outfits!
I probably should have done the fall wardrobe instead of spring....part of the problem with the spring challenge is that it was not even close to being spring weather here when the challenge was on. But, fall comes early where I live! lol

We work in completely different areas of the office so we arenāt concerned that we will dress similar on a daily basis. We do not hang out outside of work. My main concern is that when she joins the Facebook group she will try to friend me, as she has in the past. My policy has always been not to āFB friendā coworkers. Pam

Pam We talked about how our classrooms are located on opposite sides of the building and we will likely be the only ones who notice. We did buy the same navy dress when she did a blog post about teacher outfits. We bought it knowing that the odds were fairly good that we'd both buy it. She wore hers on the first day of school. I'll be wearing mine this week.

Ha! I think some are so fashionably challenged that they don't trust themselves to find something to substitute and its just easier for them to purchase the exact thing that will be styled. Why no new shoes?! Shoes are fun! Iām quite boring when it comes to shoes - Blundstone, Birks, Converse. Do you have any birk boots? None of the linked ones in the capsule excited me so I started checking out my favorite comfy shoe brands (Dansko, Birk, etc.). I found 2 different Birk booties that are pretty cute. Just curious how their shoes/boots compare to sandals if you have tried them.

I will say - I was surprised there wasn't an army green vest/jacket. I thought for sure it would be on the list. Iām subbing an olive vest for the burgundy one. Not a huge burgundy fan.

I signed up for the summer challenge and bought some of the pieces. I hardly followed the prompts at all though as we were on vacation a lot and it just didnāt work. I also wear dresses in the summer so I much preferred choosing my own outfit. I wonāt be signing up for the fall challenge but from what Iāve read so far, I have most of the pieces already.

I probably should have done the fall wardrobe instead of spring....part of the problem with the spring challenge is that it was not even close to being spring weather here when the challenge was on. But, fall comes early where I live! lol Opposite problem here ... for the fall challenge, Iāll probably only wear the outer layer for a photo, and then take it off as it will be āsummerā here until November. I wonāt bother with the summer one next year - Iām just way more interested in staying cool and comfortable over the summer vacation than looking cute. For those seeing things outside of their comfort zone, I encourage you to try one thing youāre not sure about. Buy a budget version of whatever it is. I was really uncomfortable with the metallic shoes last spring, but theyāre one of my favorite pieces now. I bought a version that is more of a matte gold/champagne. Or sub something that reads the same way - for example, I tried the gingham over the summer and now all my gingham pieces are going to Goodwill or Poshmark. Itās not for me! Iām subbing a black challis button down with a subtle white plaid for the gingham shirt this fall. Also, if youāre willing to spend some time getting it set up, the Stylebook app is a great way to try out your subs ahead of time to make sure what youāre planning will work out. Iām subbing quite a bit in the fall challenge, but Iāve put together the first week of challenge outfits in Stylebook with my subs and Iām happy with the results.

Alright, you guys have me just about talked into it. Last year I started following FrumpyFighters (nowthaticando.com) on facebook and downloaded the free parts of their system. I feel like it's gone off the rails a bit and tends more towards young moms (pregnant women and those with babies). It's a lot cheaper than GYPO but hopefully GYPO is better. Anyhow, I can already see having to make some adjustments.....I just bought an army green jacket in the spring that I was looking forward to wearing this fall, doesn't it just figure

But, last year I wouldnt have said it was my style, so maybe by the end of this challenge the camel Blazer will be my new favorite.

Iām subbing a camel-colored leather jacket for the blazer, and Iām eyeballing a blush colored moto leather jacket for one of the cardigans.
Iām excited!
