A couple of weeks ago there was a thread about GoPro cameras and lots of discussion about them. I just finished my latest GoPro movie edit, if anyone is interested to see it. We spent 10 days at Disney World at the end of August. Maybe three clips were filmed on another camera; everything else was shot on the GoPro. It gave some great point-of-view perspectives on the roller coasters, etc. Hope you enjoy and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Great job!! Looks like you had an awesome famili trip!
We got a GoPro earlier this year and we are really looking forward to using it on our upcoming trip to Disneyland! Loved your music choices too!

Silly question. Did you wear it on your head the whole time? I so want one of these. In New Zealand, they are $500.

Love your video! I was enjoying your trip right along with you. I'm starting to feel like it's been too long since our last trip to Disney...

This was awesome! I've never made a video before, but you've inspired me! I love how you caught so many different aspects of the trip: walking, getting views of you while riding rides, food, everything! Like a video scrapbook. Silly question. Did you wear it on your head the whole time? I so want one of these. In New Zealand, they are $500. I was going to ask the same question. We have one, and it has a head strap and a suction cup, and I'm wondering what you used while doing different things.

I forgot to ask what editing software you used? I also forgot to compliment you on your music choices. Very upbeat and fun!

Thanks everyone! I used a pole mount exclusively on this trip. The pole (brand name is Platinum) telescopes from 9" to 28" long. Most of the time I kept it folded down small, but on the rides I would extend it out and rest it on the car in front of me to provide some stability. Also, the Disney water parks don't allow you to use a pole on their rides, so I used it hand-held there.
My personal opinion is that the head mount perspective is not as good as a handheld at waist or chest level, and is shakier. Good for times when you need your hands free, but in this case it was no problem to carry it.
I use iMovie to edit… the version that came with my Mac; I think it's iMovie '11.

I feel like GoPro could be the new scrapbooking. It's such an amazing little thing and so versatile. I absolutely love it! I didn't have time to watch it all; but I LOVED the Frozen stuff, especially the sing along!

That is awesome! I'm 159 days out from our next trip and I think that Santa might be bringing DH a Go-Pro for Christmas! I'm going to share the video with him for some inspiration. Thank you for sharing this - love it! One totally off topic question - did you love AKL or did you find it was too far out from everywhere else? We usually stay at the Beach Club, but we've both been interested in staying at AKL except that you can't really walk to any parks or other hotels. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts...

OMG. I've never been to Disneyland or world. Loved watching your video. The music was perfect for each section. So much better than looking at just photos. I did like that you also include still shots in the video. That Gaston pic is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thanks everyone!
Animal Kingdom Lodge is truly a beautiful resort - I think it and the Wilderness Lodge are the two best-themed hotels. But it is quite secluded. On the one hand, it's nice to come back after a busy park day and have that (relative) quietness. On the other hand, you are away from the action, so to speak.
This trip and our last trip, we did split stays between resorts. Partly because we wanted to try out several different resorts and partly beacause of location. On this trip we did our Animal Kingdom days while we were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, stuck to Epcot and Hollywood Studios when we were at the Boardwalk and could walk to both, and then at the end we stayed at the Contemporary and walked to Magic Kingdom from there. It really helped to cut down our transportation time overall.
Have you considered a split stay?

We are 73 days out from our next visit - we go at least 2 times a year. I showed your video to my family and they loved it! I think a go pro is in our future! I have so many photos but a lot fewer videos of our time at WDW. Thanks for the great idea!

Love it!!!! I think we need to invest in one. Our kids love watching a camp video we get each year. We could make our own. Sidenote: My mom is a stockbroker at heart and invested in GoPro at a great time and the company has had some great growth! Sure did help him in meeting some of her goals. I am going to show your video to my dh.

Loved your video. I sat and watched it late last night with my 20yo. I've been to WDW but he has not and now he wants to go. We have been talking about getting a go pro and may be sold. The memories you are helping you children create and remember for a lifetime

I just watched your video and loved it! Your kids are so cute! I think I need a GoPro now. We are going back to Disney in November and I really want to take more video this trip. I can take it with my dslr, but I'm not very good at using it. I love the perspective the GoPro gives you on rides.
We are doing a split stay for the first time this year. We will start out at Beach Club (our fave) and then moving to Contemporary. It will be our first time staying at the Contemporary. I am so looking forward to it and your video got me in such a Disney mood now!

I think we'll have just jump in and try it one trip. And I showed your video to DH and now he's definitely on board with getting the GoPro and making our own!

Can you tell me what font you used for your titles? Love that one, and would love to use for digi scrapping!
