When this whole thing first started, I never dreamed that Beto could win. Too many Texans just sniff out the "R" and pull the lever. But it has picked up steam like nothing I have ever seen. Beto has been to my somewhat small, very red Central Texas town twice. The first time there were more people there than I ever would have thought there would be. The second time was just a few weeks ago and they had to move to a larger venue and it was packed. It's exciting times in Texas politics right now and Beto is the best thing to happen for Texas Democrats since Ann Richards.
I see a lot more Beto signs than Cruz signs. In fact, I don't recall seeing any Cruz signs around here.
I don't remember Cruz ever coming here before but he came the other day to a thrown together gathering at the BBQ restaurant. Tells me he thought he had this race won easily and now he's scared. Very scared. And he should be.
I know a lot of Republican teachers who are posting on Facebook about voting "them" out. Mostly meaning Dan Patrick but they show a lot of interest in Beto too.
I don't know if he can win. I have a hard time letting myself believe it, but I know he's giving Cruz a hell of a challenge and I'm loving every minute of it.

And he always makes time to take pictures with anyone who wants one. The line is usually very long and he’s supposed to be rushing off to the next event, but he stays as long as necessary. Sometimes I think his people have a hard time getting him to stop talking and get on the road. And he’s very, very tall. 😁

DT is coming to Texas to help Cruz. I think we should put help in air quotes... because we all know DT's "help" isn't exactly about actual HELP for the candidate. It's helping DT's ego. Lmao!! That was my first thought too!!!!

TBH, that only made him more relatable to a lot of people. He’s totally desperate. His campaign has had to “smear” Beto with some trouble he got into in college and the fact that he was in a band in high school. Because there is literally nothing else.

Before the smear campaign, I didn't notice many in my circle mentioning Beto. But in the last week, I've had 3 different friends mention Beto and how Cruz was dragging up old shit in hopes of killing Beto's chance. Then Beto's message on Ellen, and I think people are really seeing him as someone who could do some good vs. the same ol' crap.

I believe he was in one of them evil, long haired, rock music bands. 😉 I love that Ted Cruz and the morons on his campaign staff seem to believe there are folks who are going to be all “You know, I was thinking of voting for Beto but then I found out he was once in a band...”

I was totally coming in here to ask that!!!!! i'm going to take shot and say that he mean silicone, as in the booby kind. why would anyone be averse to silicon as in Silicon Valley, tech, and the jobs that come with it? that's why i'm going with silicone because it's more in line with his aversion to hair dye too.

Normally, no one ever comes to my area. Its just a given that we would go Republican. But Beto has been here (guessing) five times already, with Cruz only coming 3 times or so. He has been to each and every county in the state of Texas. Do other candidates do that? You forgot that Beto also (shock) can ride a skateboard. Very well at that!! TXMary you look so cute. He IS tall!! BTW: Beto O'Rourke has taken no, zero, nada, zip, dollars from PACs. Just individual donations.. Happy to get $5 or any other amount...And he has raised more than Cruz has to date.

Not usually, no. Amarillo (where I live) typically may get one visit from one candidate. But the towns (and counties) north of me NEVER get any visits and Beto has been there. Cruz? Nope.

There aren't a lot of Cruz signs out b/c his campaign didn't make any really, hence that stupid pic of Cruz that the one Republican group made into signs. I hope Beto wins, Cruz is a freaking tool who hasn't cared about his constituents until just recently, and even then not really, only if you're conservative.

Thank you. You’re sweet. I am only 5’2” but he’s REALLY tall. No other candidates ever come here. They don’t have to...the election is basically a formality and has been for years. And for those who don’t know...there are 254 counties in Texas. It’s incredible that he’s been to all of them.
