Beto just comes across as someone you could sit down and have a beer or a cup of coffee with and share an engaging conversation about most any subject. I'd really like to go hear him speak.

God, he’s such a schmuck. He’s not a schmuck. He’s absolutely a human who blends in with other humans while doing many human activities. He is a fine member of the human species and will definitely not do anything weird like warming himself in the sun to avoid the sluggishness that a reptile might have. Because he 100% is a fellow human and not a lizard.

This is exactly the fear he is trying to play on. Making "others" bad and unwanted. Thankfully, it's a vocal minority who embrace it in these Houston suburb towns. They're just little pockets of opposition surrounding an enormous diverse and fairly progressive city. The city votes blue, most of the little communities surrounding it vote red. But the city keeps expanding and growing and pushing outward. In the 10 years I've lived in my little Houston suburb town I've seen a lot of growth and diversification happen locally, and the same group of blowhards keep pushing back against it and complaining loud and hard. But progress happens anyway. [/quote] I'm getting that on a t-shirt!

No other candidates ever come here. They don’t have to...the election is basically a formality and has been for years. And for those who don’t know...there are 254 counties in Texas. It’s incredible that he’s been to all of them. Like we have 21 counties... But we are a very small state. Donate to Beto!!

Okay, y’all. I just sent Mr. O’Rourke a donation. And it’s the fault of TXMary and her damn picture that I pressed the button for twice the amount I’d intended. But in true liberal carpetbagger tribal style, I have conditions. Illinois conditions. Chicago conditions. Screw California. I’d like to flood Texas with 1. deep dish pizza (we don’t eat it, anyway), 2. excess body hair (keeps us warm), and 3. what is the biggest crop in Illinois? Yup, soy! So, more tofu and such. (Especially for my other tribe, post-menopausal women.)

I don't think either us senate candidate has been to all 21 counties. I guess they both figure that everyone has already made up their minds.

I just hope and try to help Kim knock out McArthur, he is truly bad bad..

Even the staunch conservatives I know don't like Ted Cruz, he gets their votes because he has an R by his name. He's notorious for avoiding his constituents. His entire campaign has been to smear Beto and liberals. The fact that Beto's gone to every county is a really big deal. Politicians here cater to their donors and base and ignore everyone else. Add in heavy gerrymandering and your representatives are often ghosts. I've been to several of Beto's events and he really does listen and speaks respectfully to not only those singing his praises but those who are skeptical or on the other side of the aisle. It's not that he's wishy washy or changes positions it's that he holds those positions while explaining where there is common ground. Unlike Cruz he wants to make things better for everyone, not just his base.

Time to put the razor away anyway. Soy...this post-menopausal breast cancer survivor avoids soy like the plague! Love the donation though!
