Oh, and we just bought a new washing machine as well, and it has a steam function. You can put things like lined jackets and tailored pants in there to freshen them up, and they don't need to be ironed. That sounds pretty fancy! I hate spending the money on new household appliances but then I love to use the new functions when I do get them. I toss in a clean, very damp bath cloth in my inexpensive clothes dryer and put it on the touch-up cycle. Works very well and only takes a few minutes. I also do this if I miss taking clothes out of the dryer before they wrinkle.

We probably have less than 20 items that must be ironed. I try to save them until I have several pieces to do--to make it worth putting up the ironing board. The items that need pressing are mostly shirts of his.
I also have a small steamer that gets used from time to time.

I also iron more in the summer because some cotton and linen clothing just needs a good pressing to look crisp and fresh. I don't have any regular ironing schedule. It's just on an as-needed basis.

DH and I both iron our clothes as needed before putting away our clean laundry. I also iron my top sheet and pillowcases. I love smooth crisp sheets.

I iron while I'm sewing. Certain things I make need to be pressed.
Clothes? I only iron a few of DH's shirts. If he hangs up his pants, they don't wrinkle. I don't wear anything that requires ironing.

My husband is the ironer in our house. he irons tons of stuff.i think he did it when he was in the marine corp maybe for money too My DH is former Air Force, so he's a good ironer, too. He'll do most of the ironing. There is a lot less of it, since he retired.

Basically never. When my girls were little they had some of those bead things that you iron and they melt together. My daughter wanted to watch me iron them. She asked “Is it going to be noisy?”

Only when something is so wrinkly that it really, really needs ironing. I have a few button downs that need ironing, but other than that it’s just not something I need to do very often.

Oh - when I go on vacation, it is usually a must ! Probably because a lot of trips are for *special* occasions. I actually love to use the hotel ironing board and their iron. Usually keep it up the whole time.

I always use the iron to press during sewing/quilting. There is the occasion clothes ironing. Oddly enough, I have to iron more clothing for a 'casual' day at work than I do my everyday work wear. I also have the steam feature on my dryer--I've not used it in the 5+years we've had it. Hmmm, maybe will try it this weekend.

It’s pretty rare. Pretty much never. I hate doing it and am not good at it. I try to buy things for work that don’t need it. Dh wears khakis and shirts to work. We fold laundry as soon as it comes out so wrinkles are minimized, and he doesn’t get bent out of shape about a few wrinkles.
I’d be a bit more receptive about ironing (maybe) if I had a place to keep an ironing board set up. My mom has had her ironing board set up in her basement for years. I don’t have that space and it’s a hassle to drag it all out. Yet another reason I don’t iron.

Just for funeral apor wedding type clothes...which I try avoiding going to those types of things anything so it’s rare to iron for that.
I do iron DH suit pants and dress shirt when he goes to court hearings for work.

For sewing projects, yes.
Work clothes, no. I avoid buying clothing that requires ironing, and everything goes straight from the dryer to a hanger.
I used to use the iron to get rid of creases in clothing that had been hanging in th closet for a long time, but since I got a fabric steamer, I use that. In fact, the steamer has replaced my iron for virtually everything except sewing.

I don't wear anything that requires ironing. Not picking on you especially but I see that said quite a bit and I don't know how that works Do you look at labels and only buy things that are made of non-crease fabrics? What are those fabrics? If you want/need something in particular (maybe a navy blouse to complete an outfit) and you have to hunt until you find one made of 'that' fabric (and that you like) and if you can't see one you go without? If you just see something gorgeous but it needs ironing you don't get it? You never wear cotton or linen? I'm not being rude, I just don't think I could do that unless I'm not understanding.

For me, my pants are all jeans and no-wrinkle black pants. I don’t wear dresses or skirts. Most of my tops are knit and if those do have a wrinkle it comes out in a touch up cycle in the dryer. I don’t really assemble outfits as in I need to find a navy blouse for this outfit, so it’s not really a “go without” kind of thing. If I don’t like the fabric I just don’t buy it and it isn’t a loss. I don’t wear much woven cotton, but I do like cotton knits, and I don’t wear linen ever.

Most days my work wear is black pants, a knit top, and a cardigan because my classroom is cold. Dressier ones if I’m in parent meetings it still the basic formula, one dress for occasions where it’s needed. I set out to make getting dressed daily very easy and I’m happy with how I achieved that.

My dryer has a steam function if I need it. I only use it because I have a teeny tiny closet and way to many clothes so they can get wrinkled if it's been awhile since I've worn them. They are was and wear kind of clothes, but just too jammed in my closet.

I iron pretty much everything except socks, undergarments and towels. I try my best to hang clothes up immediately after they are out of the dryer to prevent wrinkles.

My iron gets zero action outside of perler bead projects for the kids. I hate ironing with a passion! I have a steamer that I use on the rare occasion that something truly needs it.

Every once in a while I will have a top that has a few wrinkles in the front (the only place that matters since I always wear a cardigan). I can usually just ask dh to iron for me when he is ironing. I usually wait until I see him ironing and hand him 1-2 things on mine. He is a way better ironer than me and he probably irons 2x a week. His t shirts get wrinkly because of the haphazard way he does laundry and stores his clothes and he will iron things that I would be fine wearing. I have a pretty high tolerance for wrinkles. I’d say I personally end up ironing something once every other month if that.

I tend to wear quite a lot of cotton long sleeved t-shirts this time of year and in the summer also, I like cotton t-shirts, linen stuff etc. which all needs ironing...I must be a glutton for punishment

I iron a few pieces about every 2 weeks. I used to iron while watching TV but since I took up knitting again, my ironing pile tends to grow :-) I wear a lot of knits now so that has cut back on the ironing for me but DH has decided he likes button up shirts again rather than polos so those need ironing.

I actually quite like ironing and find it therapeutic. But at the moment my ironing board is serving as a useful table

If I don’t like the fabric I just don’t buy it and it isn’t a loss. I don’t wear much woven cotton, but I do like cotton knits, and I don’t wear linen ever. This is me too almost exactly. I too almost never even buy clothing that needs to be ironed. I would have to really, REALLY love it to be bothered with something that would require ironing. I wear jeans or denim capris pretty much every single day (or shorts in the summer) and have a couple pairs of no wrinkle black pants for those times when I need something dressier. I can count the times I’ve worn a dress or skirt in the last ten years on one hand, and even then they’re also usually a knit fabric that wouldn’t be ironed. My tops are t-shirts just about every single day, otherwise I have a handful of dressier looking sweaters. I did buy a couple wrinkle resistant no iron percale button up shirts to bring on my vacations next year, but those won’t get ironed either. Wash, dry, hang, done. When shopping, I absolutely look at the care labels before buying. I refuse to buy anything that has to be dry cleaned or that will require fussy care to look decent. I have zero time in my life to hassle with laundry. If it can’t go into the washer and dryer, it’s not coming home with me even if it was free. Now having said all that, I *DO* have an iron and I know how to use it. It has dedicated its life to crafts long ago, LOL. I use it if I’m working on a sewing or craft project that requires one. If I broke down and bought a heat press for doing iron on vinyl transfers I would probably use my regular iron even less than I already do.

Winter clothes almost never. I have a lot of linen for summer that I iron. I just did a lot of ironing of my first quilt.
Ironing is one of my favorite household jobs next to laundry. It's clean and meditative and I can do it while I watch tv.

I did for many years but gave it up. I do have an iron but don’t think I have a board anymore. I will iron dress clothes if they need it but live in jeans, T-shirts and casual clothes.
