Hmmm, what is this "iron" of which you speak? Is it a noun or a verb...? LOL, my thoughts exactly.
We still have the iron we got for a wedding shower gift.....just celebrated our 20 year anniversary
But I did need to iron the front of the chambray shirt I wore for the GYPO challenge the other day.....thankfully I'd recently read the ingenious idea to use a flat iron Worked like a charm!

I do but I hate it. I try to do it regularly so I don't have a big pile to get through at once.

I don't wear anything that requires ironing. Not picking on you especially but I see that said quite a bit and I don't know how that works Do you look at labels and only buy things that are made of non-crease fabrics? What are those fabrics? If you want/need something in particular (maybe a navy blouse to complete an outfit) and you have to hunt until you find one made of 'that' fabric (and that you like) and if you can't see one you go without? If you just see something gorgeous but it needs ironing you don't get it? You never wear cotton or linen? I'm not being rude, I just don't think I could do that unless I'm not understanding. For me, it's more of I really don't own anything that requires ironing. I don't own a single blouse. The majority of my wardrobe is jeans and t-shirts (the joy of working as a crafter from home, no dress up required). The dressy shirts I do own are silk/rayon so steaming is recommended. When I do need to dress up, I'm usually wearing a dress. My dress pants are hung up on pants hanger so they're not folded and get worn maybe once a year? I have pressed those as needed. I have like two or three "business" or "dressy" outfits I can wear that don't involve jeans and sweater. So it's not really a case of I look for "easy care" or "wrinkle free" labels. I simply do not have a lifestyle that requires clothes that need to be pressed. DH doesn't care if I press his pants or not. A few of his shirts don't wrinkle if you hang them up right away (easy care label) and a few need pressing no matter what. Makes sense?

My husband is the ironer in our house. he irons tons of stuff.i think he did it when he was in the marine corp maybe for money too I paid a boy in the Army to iron my uniforms. He did a much better job than I did. Forever people would ask me if they could pay me to iron their uniforms and I just passed his info along. I'm sure he made bank doing this. I sew, so I iron. And I do like ironing linens, but clothes, not so much. If I had room to keep my board up I might do it more. Funny story, my sister had an interview coming up and had to break out the iron. Said sister had a rule with her girls that if you didn't play with something regularly it had to go to someone who would play with it. 5 year-old niece puzzled over the iron that had appeared on the dining room table and eventually asked my sister what it was. After a lengthy description of what an iron does, my niece looked at her and said, "This iron doesn't get used regularly. You should probably give it to someone who will use it." Lol. My sister got the job, and gave her iron away. That was nearly 20 years ago. ETA: All of my European girlfriends iron. A lot.

I'm not being rude, I just don't think I could do that unless I'm not understanding All of those. I don't wear cotton...and NEVER linen based on how much it creases, even if you iron it 2 hours later you look like you slept in it anyway. I never wear cotton shirts (esp not white) from all those years of wearing them as a nurse uniform, it just makes me feel like I'm in work clothes.
Let's face it we never "need" an item of clothing so badly that we ever have to buy it in a fabric we don't like. There's always going to be 100 others that are machine washable and can be tumble dried or hung up. Sometimes there are tops I love and then I think...ugh, I'd have to hand wash that and iron it...so I put it back.
In shops I often do the "scrunch test"...get a small handful of the fabric and scrunch it in your hand for a few seconds then let go. If it stays a ball of scrunch and a mass of wrinkles, it goes back on the rack, but if they creases fall out as soon as you let go, or only leave faint lines, then we're good to go.

No. I mean maybe every few years perhaps. But that's it. Dh is a contractor, I work in a very casual office and dd is still in high school and works one or two days a week in the kitchen of a local tea restaurant in our small town. Everything is wash and wear. Unless we are going to a wedding/funeral or a very nice restaurant, we just don't dress up much and our regular clothing doesn't require ironing. I fluff it up in the dryer or hang it in the bathroom while showering etc for a few wrinkles.

I iron my clothes everyday. Our ironing board is set up in a corner in our room and never comes down. I feel weird if I don't iron.

I don't buy anything for myself that needs to be ironed because I hate ironing but dh is a realtor who wears dress shirts that need ironing I don't work at this time so I iron his shirts ... if I go back to work that arrangement may change

Only a very few number of work tops and when I absolutely have to. Most of the stuff I buy now doesn't need ironing.

I don’t iron, sometimes I use our steamer on stuff I can’t put in the dryer. My husband irons his own stuff.

Only as a last resort. I bought a steamer because I’m too lazy to iron. I recall my grandmother ironing ALL day on Mondays. Always , Monday. As she finished taking the clothes off the clothesline, she would “sprinkle” the clothes with water, roll them up, and place them in a big zippered bag. They would then get ironed, on Monday. She ironed “ hankies” ( handkerchiefs) and pillowcases. Probably the sheets as well. She also use to scrub the floors on her hands and knees and scrubbed the toilet with a rag by hand. She worked HARD.

Yes, I iron nearly all my clothes. Even the no-iron things get hit with the iron because I find it makes them look better, especially since I don't dry them in the dryer. I don't really wear t-shirts or jeans, so other than workout clothes, undies and pjs, not much gets put into the dryer. My ironing board is always set up in the sewing room which is next to the laundry room so it really isn't a problem to iron.

I used to iron nothing, but since starting GYPO this year, I've purchased nicer clothes and iron every once in a while now.

I only iron when necessary, which isn’t often! I use the delicate or air dry setting on my dryer and I hang my clothes as soon as it’s done for less shrinkage and wrinkles.

Occasionally I will, but there is only a few things I have that really need it. I do have a hand held steamer I use a couple times a week to knock out the laundry pile wrinkles before week if needed. It’s just faster and easier!

I iron what needs to be ironed as it comes out of the dryer when I do laundry. I do laundry twice a week.

I wear quite a bit of cotton but find I don’t need to iron it and I’d never iron a t-shirt. I might toss it back in the dryer on the steam cycle. But I hang or fold my clothes right after washing/drying and it’s rare something needs to be ironed. I’d be more likely to use my clothes steamer. I’ve been known to take my hair flat iron to a collar or pocket that won’t lay straight on a shirt or blouse. I might use my iron a half dozen times a year.

Nope, but dh irons his work slacks and dress shirts. I HATE to iron. He doesn't mind it. He gets a movie on his chromebook, laptop, or ipad, sets it on the counter by the ironing bord, and goes to town.

Only when absolutely necessary, which thankfully, in not often. It kind of makes me a bit ashamed because my dad meticulously irons all his shirts to this day, just about every day.

I own an iron because my brother in law had to run to Target on my wedding day to purchase an iron and ironing board because I'd forgotten to send my dress out to be pressed ahead of time.
Does that answer your question???
Also: I'm an RN. I basically wear pajamas to work 5 days a week. So I'm only wearing 'real' clothes on the weekends, and then only if I end up going somewhere. I have an extensive pajama collection (mostly old T shirts and a variety of stretchy pants). Plus, I have a high wrinkle tolerance and no issue throwing something in the dryer with a wet towel if needed.

Usually just when sewing. I have a garment/drapery attachment for my steam cleaner that I use more often.

I'm retired so rarely wear clothing requiring ironing or pressing. As for ironing tee shirts I try to buy 50/50 blends. Even all cotton ones don't require ironing, although are best when taken out of the dryer promptly. I'm really feeling people in other countries might be more fastidious about their clothing than us in the US. Maybe we should iron more!
