After reviewing the video yesterday, I like many others have decided that I love the florals and some b-sides. But none of the icons are going to work for me; even when my DD was little, I don't think I would have used mermaids and unicorns. The dragons are cute but... This exactly! I would use one dragon something because I think it's funny but otherwise no to the mermaids and unicorns. I do like that there's a lot of navy and periwinkle blue! I would add some of the papers to another order but I am don't think I'd go out of my way to get some.

I think I'll hold judgement until I can see more in better photos. But I see some things that could work. My daughter just had a unicorn theme party so we are into unicorns here right now But those enamel dots <3

Sorry to say but I'm pretty unimpressed with this one, and I was looking forward to Shimelle's new line. I can usually use things from all of her lines, but I don't really go for this at all. Did AC make her put the mermaids and unicorns in it to keep up with what they believe the "trend" is? I bought "Let's be Mermaids" when it came out, and feel like I have seen a millions more mermaids since. Can only use them once! Same for lots of these overused icons--I used llamas--ONCE. Toucans--ONCE. I don't want them again and again!
Much prefer Echo Park's Adventure Awaits for this kind of theme.
Thanks for posting it though, love to keep up with the upcoming lines.

I LOVE Shimelle. I really like her and her teaching and i really want to support her. But the more collections she does, the further she moves from my style and I find it hard to incorporate her papers in my pages. I might pick up some of the embellishments but I find even the sticker books kind of hard to use. This sums up how I feel perfectly.
I adore Shimelle's videos and am so grateful for all of the quality, free content she provides. I want to support her collections. The problem is, I just rarely like them. I bought a few pieces of True Stories, a few pieces of Starshine (I liked this collection more but it wasn't very usable for me) and it seems like with each new collection released I like less and less and it gets less and less usable. Maybe it's because there's always so much little kid centric stuff and I don't have kids? I don't know. She does tend to have decent B sides but I'm not much of a B side scrapper. There's a few embellishments I like that I may pick up out of this line but nothing that would force me to place an order and pay for shipping.

Initial thoughts are cute! Have a soft spot for dragons (!) and mermaids

Wow, surprisingly I was really drawn to it at first sight. I've hated almost all of the AC stuff that's come out the last couple of years, so this was a very pleasant surprise and relief!
I even like some of the A sides, surprising too! and although I haven't watched the video yet, I know that I usually like the B sides much more. I *love* the colors, which I haven't been able to say about a Shimelle collection since Starshine. Glitter Girl was just too garish and random for me, but I can work with fantasy creatures (I'm not scrapping with it - mostly making cards for sick kids, so fantasy cute stuff is exactly what I like - I figure that kids with chronic/terminal illness might prefer fantasy to real life).
Not having a 6x6 pad though - that really sucks. I much prefer the smaller pages for cardmaking. Oh well. We'll see. Maybe I can get some cut apart pages and some smaller scale B sides and make it work for my purposes.

I stopped into my LSS today (over an hour away so I only get there once in awhile.) I asked the owner if she'd be getting Head in the Clouds in, and she told me that she wasn't ordering it for the store because Shimelle lines don't tend to sell very well there. She special ordered it for me along with the Pinkfresh Indigo Hills 2 I've been wanting, and they'll be in next month just ahead of my birthday

msliz that's too bad about the Shimelle lines. Box of Crayons did not appeal to me at all but once I started using it with other collections I really liked it. I wonder if the initial reaction of "OMG it is soooo bright and colorful and random" dissuaded people from buying it? I agree that her last three collections have been very different from her first five or six, but I am excited about Head in the Clouds.

Too similar to glitter girl release, I’m not impressed. That is what I thought. It is just too pink and whimsical for my boys.

It’s cute, but totally not my style. I would never have a reason to use most of the collection.
I agree. It's the kind of paper you can't wait to buy, only to find out that you never, ever find a good use for it. I think all the major designers' lines are looking over-designed these days and so similar to their earlier lines as to be repetitive. I don't need "pictures" on my paper so much as I need "patterns". I really liked Amy Tangerine's early lines, but even her newer stuff is not as readily usable.
I regret that a lot of my impulse buying has been on designer's lines, just because they were so popular, and not because they were particularly good for my scrapbooking. I won't be doing that any more - so this is a definite no.

I love the pink floral, and the Thickers are cute too. I need to use the unicorns/mermaids I have, though. Don't really need more.

Some is really cute. And then others makes me think somehow of my dh & kids new show obsession: Star vs the forces of evil.
