I liked Roseanne the first time around and enjoyed the reboot, so I watched tonight.
It felt like Roseanne without Roseanne. I think they tried too hard at the beginning, but settled in.
I like how the show touches on topics without being preachy.

I missed the beginning. But I loved the rest of it. I’ll watch the whole thing tomorrow.

I never liked Roseanne so I enjoyed watching the rest of the cast without her. The writers did a good job tying her character's addiction to her death. Who knew the subplot to the old show would be the perfect character write off.

I did - I thought it was good, better than I expected it to be. I will keep watching for now.

I watched it and liked what they did with it. I loved how well the storyline last season lent to writing her out of the series. Hoping the show does well.

We watched. I liked it. They had set up the storyline somewhat last season, so it wasn’t some crazy out there scenario.
Jackie was always my favorite, and still is. John Goodman got OLD! Well, I know some of it was his weight loss. Congrats to him on that, but when I see him now it hits me just how much time has passed since I watched it as a teen. Yikes!
I love the Grandson Mark. That kid is a cutie and I loved his scene with Dan about picking the boy he likes to sit with.

I was pretty shocked by John Goodman’s appearance. I knew he had lost more weight, but the last time I saw him on The Today Show he didn’t look that small.

I saw much of it, but the bitterness tires me out. I don't mind a little of Darlene, but there is too much of her and her daughter is awful (but a good actress! - awful character). I know they were mourning their mom, but I just feel so dreary when I watch the show.

I haven't watched any of the Roseanne shows, but she wants to remind you that she's not really dead. It sounds like it bothers her a lot that she was written out of the show.

I liked it. My husband thought they were still relying on her character for the jokes but it did ease up by the end. I think it’ll be better without her fat head taking up all the oxygen.
But when Jackie didn’t want to leave because Roseanne was still in the house, I immediately lost it. I didn’t want to leave my dads house. I live 1000 miles away. I wanted to soak up every ounce of his house before I left. My brother still owns it and is waiting to sell it to the railroad, but I knew I wouldn’t get to be there again. It’s the only place he and I were ever together.
It’s been two years and it’s still hard to type the words.

I watched it and liked it. Jackie has always been my favorite. I remember years ago when they did the pot smoking episode in the bathroom and I’ve loved her ever since.

Laurie Metcalfe is such a wonderful actress. I enjoyed watching. The triangle in the kitchen had me rolling. I think the show will do well. They connect with most Americans who struggle with day to day things. I didn’t realize Debbie from Shameless was the daughter from last season until I saw her tonight, We binged watched 8 seasons this summer. I agree about Dan not looking well. Almost as if he lost the weight too fast. There is the same hollowness to their eyes that I see in a lot of people that have weight loss surgery. (Not saying he did, but the look is similar)

I watched it and enjoyed it. I did shed a few tears because I lost my mom at a young age so I remembering the pain and sadness right along with Darlene and Becky.
I will continue to watch it. I like the original and the reboot and seems I will like the spin off (if that is what this is!).

Who knew the subplot to the old show would be the perfect character write off. Same here!! The last ep last season was a preamble to her having an opioid problem, so it was the perfect tie-in. When it all happened with her and her Tweet, I told my SO that if they came back, she would have died in surgery (her knee surgery) or OD'd on pain meds. I'll keep watching for now just to see where it goes. I do like that Dan will have a more active role now. I always loved John Goodman.

I never cared much for Rosanne as either a person or character... so I recorded the new Conners and I'll check it out. I previously appreciated the concept and the Jackie character .. but could not stand Rosanne, so maybe this new one will hold more appeal.

I didn't catch it last night as I was watching something else. I will watch it on On Demand later. I do not like Roseanne and quit watching after the first season of the original. I tried to watch the reboot with Roseanne and turned it off half way through. I want to see it now that she is gone because I like most of the other actors.

I refuse to. I like Roseanne. She made the show. Firing her was ridiculous. Don't get me wrong though she was out of line doing what she did. Hollywood is so hypocritical. When it comes down to it it was a political move. It gave them a reason to get rid of another republican actress. There have been many people who have done similar things but didn't get the same treatment. I'm getting to the point of not watching tv anymore. I am very selective on which movies I watch. This country is so divided it's insane.

I saw him on GMA too and I think he got fillers in his face which is why he looked different from the show. I thought DJ looked old. he's only 36 in real life, but his face just has aged quite a bit. www.goodhousekeeping.com/health/diet-nutrition/a19632518/john-goodman-weight-loss/

I saw the orginal and the originally Dan had died and the lottery win would have given her heart attack would have been a lot better and go with that line, if it wasn't so out there. (them winning the lottery) this was too close to home I know it's opiod crisis. But it's a sensitive issue and it varys and I kn ow shows try to touch on the sensitivity issues like that. I'm very mixed on the reboot of the reboot.
ps.. I also didn't think he had looked well. I like him a lot though. King Ralph is one oDh's favorite 'old movie ' lol!
