Ay (like the letter 'a')-Al (like the man's name)-Ah. Just how it's spelled, really.

I would think eye-all-uh.
But when you see get in person I would stick with "Isn't she beautiful!" Until you hear her say it.

I would say it eye-AH-lah. It was my cousin's married LAST name, and that's how it was pronounced.

I went to high school with a girl name Ayala and she pronounced it Eye-la. There was no middle ya. I think that the Jewish and Turkish versions of the name have the middle ya silent.

If you're on Facebook together, can't you ask her how it's pronounced?

As a last name, I agree Ay-ya-la. however, I would say that the fact that her sister is Layla does not preclude it from being pronounced Ay-la - I went to school with sisters Stacy and Tracy.

Eye-AHL-a
And that sounds like lots of gossipy drama, like my husband's family. Uggh. Just ask her how she pronounces it.

Too bad. You put an extra vowel in your name, I'm gonna freakin' pronounce it. Ayala IS NOT the same name as Ayla. Because that's how phonics work. And I think it said that Layla is Ayala's COUSIN, not sister.
