Has been in a comitted relationship for a year so he’s not home relaxing much. Is either at his or his sweetie’s place. Works out regularly. Very in tune with his physical health. Enjoys cooking when he has the time, but has zero room in the (teeny tiny) kitchen for gadgets. Enjoys dressing well. Likes wine tasting etc. A wine club membership would be amazing, but he has no doorman to sign for the booze, and cannot have deliveries made to work. Enjoys fine dining, theatre, concerts, and other live entertainment. New gym bag/backpack, weight belt or shoes (if he lifts), Hydro Flask tumbler or desk mug (new this year I think), Spotify membership, Fit bit, blender shake bottle with some good protein powder, wireless earbuds, GC to place that sells the brand of workout clothes that he likes. Someone recommended the LL Bean hanging toiletry bag last year and I got that for DS and he uses it all the time. Since your DS travels back and forth to his BF's, maybe that would be a good gift as well.
ETA: RFID wallet.

Bridget in MD, I use them when I'm heating something in the microwave to both prevent splatters and help the food cook faster. For example, if I'm steaming vegetables, I'll cover the bowl with a silicone cover instead of plastic wrap. I re-heat soup in the microwave frequently, and if I cover the bowl it heats more quickly and doesn't splatter. You can also use them for food storage in the fridge. I have silicone lids and never thought to use them in the microwave. Good tip!

Anyone use spotify on the Echo Dot? My mom, who is tech averse, loves music and I have thought about getting her a streaming music service card, but am nervous she won't be able to use it. Can she just say Alexia play spotify and have her account (that I've painstakingly set up for her previously) kick on? or does she have to activate the app to use it every time?

My daughter is 16 and going to Spain for a month this summer as an exchange student. A week traveling with her group in Northern Spain then three weeks living with a host family. Any good ideas for a trip like that? Not sure how much she's into history, but James Michener's Iberia is a great book. It's written story-like which holds a person's interest. It is long, but even if she only finishes half, at least she'll have an idea about the country and its customs. I spent my junior year abroad there. May she enjoy the visit and the wonderful people of Spain!

I don't have the dot, but the Google home and the mini and they both work by just asking it to play. The account is tied to our email which is tied to our Google devices so it will automatically connect to Spotify. We also have various playlists so I can tell it to play. Only thing is that I can't use the Home and DH use mini to listen to Spotify at the same time.

I have the echo dot and it streams my spotify premium account perfectly. I just say "alexa play my faves" or "alexa play my country hits" or whatever the playlist is named.

Last year, I got the packable down blankets from Costco for everyone's car. They are surprisingly warm for being so light weight and come with a mini stuff sack. Super easy to throw in the trunk!

Any good ideas for a trip like that? DS went to Poland for J Term last year. For Christmas, we got him cash. It’s what he really needed. To supplement it, he got plug adapters, a guide book, a phrase book, and a luggage scale. I also got him a leather zippered case for his adapters. The phrase book was a waste because DS had an app on his phone and if they didn’t speak English, DS would communicate in French.

Does anyone know, are these small enough to throw in a backpack when snowshoeing? I tend to get awfully chilled when we stop for a bite to eat. Thanks!

The ones I got were not in a two-pack and I think I paid $20 for them. I'm heading to Costco this morning; I'll check to see if they are in stock.

Even in the stuff sack, they could be squished down more! I got mine at the Woodinville Costco last year, but they were sold as singles.

Thank you luckyjune . I was in the 4th Ave store on Tuesday. Didn’t see ‘em, but wasn’t looking either. Might just have to swing by one more time before the holiday craziness ensues.

I didn't see them but Coscto was CRAZY and the store had only been open for twenty minutes. It's entirely possible that I missed them due to the insanity!

I just discovered cable bites the other day. The first thing to go on our chargers is the cord fraying near the adapter. Cable BitesI keep seeing them for iPhones only. Is that true? Why would they not work on android? (haven't read whole thread yet- sorry if asked already)

Answer: I am a size 10 and they fit just fine even after washing in warm to hot water. The heel fit where it should be. Christina H. · February 14, 2017 ETA: Nevermind. Looks like there was some confusion and that review may have been for a different type of socks. Sorry.

Long feet they have, which is probably why socks don't last long before a toe pops.
