I’m almost done filling out my ballot, and then I guess I’ll drop it off at the polling place on Tuesday, because I don’t want to take a chance on it getting there in time if I mail at the last minute. This is certainly the most important midterm election in my lifetime. Hoping for a happier morning-after than I experienced in 2016.

USA Peas: Check in to let us know you have voted in the 2018 midterm election. I don’t care who you voted for, but in honor of Virginia/ compwalla , I think that we should just shout out when/that we have voted. Voted, then supervised the voting of dh and my dad. By supervising, I really mean advising (or strong arming according to my dad!) on the local elections which were more than a little crazy this year. I did a lot of research.

DH and I just got back from early voting. I’m in Florida and that idiot Matt Gaetz is my Rep, so I’m hoping we can get him out. One of my main motivating factors is that our rep is an idiot too, Dana Rohrabacher - "Putin's favorite congressman."
For those voting on Tuesday, I really recommend taking your child into the voting booth with you. It made a big impression on my (now adult) ds.

I agree 100% with taking your children! DH and I always did, and they were always given stickers too. DS has not missed a single opportunity to vote since he turned 18, and DD 16.5 said she would have rather been able to vote, than get her drivers license this year.

I voted. This is the first election EVER than over half my ballet did not go to the Republican Party.

I’ll be voting early Tuesday morning on my way to work. Researched my state questions that will be on the ballot and filled out my cheat sheet ballot already. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

DH and I voted by absentee ballot in mid-October. DD mailed her ballot from school early this week.
I'm still waiting to hear if I'm scheduled to work on Tuesday...I really hope I am cause I'm not sure I'll handle the anticipation well without something to distract me.

I cast my throw away vote by absentee a month ago. I'm the blue dot in the very red state. It isn't going to matter but it is important enough to me to make it happen.

I voted on Tuesday. Honestly, early voting feels a little anticlimactic.

I do want to tell a funny story about DD. She's 19, and this is the first "big" election she's voted in. She did vote in the local elections last year. She was filling out her ballot and was stuck on the judicial retention section - there were maybe 40 judges on it, and she hasn't heard of any of them. She asked me about it and I told her that if she didn't know enough to make an informed decision, she could leave parts of it blank. She immediately said "NO, MOM. It's too IMPORTANT to not make the right decision." Really indignant tone as she said it...she took this SOOOOOO seriously!
She said that every day since early ballots for voting were mailed she's been asked several times when she arrives on campus if she voted. They are being very pushy at her university! (It's random people, not university personnel or anything.)

All the Republicans I voted for were in local elections (commissioners, etc). None were at a State or National level.

Yes, mailed our ballots in last week. Normally we vote in person, but didn’t want to deal with any possible lines this year.

Did we need some humor? I did need this humor, thank you. I have the pleasure of being on the Illinois side of St Louis, so we are bombarded with political ads for Missouri and Illinois. Voted yesterday, straight ticket. Did that for the first time in the 2016 Election, still leaves me feeling uncomfortable. But it’s my only voice right now, and no Republican will get my vote until this travesty is over.

I tried to early vote yesterday on my way home from work. DD had voted there the day before and said there was only 1 other person.
Well Friday evening I couldn’t get into the parking lot and then would have to stand outside to wait. So it didn’t happen. I drive by it daily for work so hopefully Monday it works out better. Otherwise I’ll just wait for Tuesday.

I hope that will not always be the case.

This past Monday, I had Jury Duty, I didn't get picked for a Jury and was released about 1:30 pm. I left and then went to vote. I went to Jury Duty and Voted all in one day - I felt so patriotic

Today I got a report card for my voting record. Since 2010, I have missed one vote. It was 2014 and I remember something happened at work that kept me there late and I didn't think I would have enough time. I think we had a music performance. So out of 5 elections, I have voted in four and they said my voting record was AVERAGE. Humph. Eighty percent is average. I'd like to think I am above average, but there you go.

No early voting in my state so I've made a date with my sis for 11:15 Tuesday. I'm only working half a day so we're going as soon as I get out at 11.

I voted early and have worn a “I Voted” sticker on my jacket ever since. I got another sticker to wear next week to remind others. Remember what Chicago Mayor, Richard Daily, used to say: “Vote early and vote often!”
