Y'all, please take a moment to visit nordstrom.com. The homepage should be a large advert for "Gucci Cruise" apparel. Is this man with the Genghis Khan coat wearing pants or not? It looks cold, like you would need pants. Why is there a poor little calf on the "cruise"? Is that Velma from Scooby Doo? It's raining...take off your sunglasses! Maybe I am just a cranky old lady. sigh

Oh, my. I'm truly not sure what "fashion" message is being conveyed there.

Is it strange that I feel really bad for the calf?
This is why I could never be the a model (besides the fact that I'm too short, too fat and too old). I would be throwing out the "WTF" every time I was asked to do something.

I have no words. Did you click the link and see some of the clothes? I only looked at the first page and that was enough. I can't believe people actually wear that stuff.

GUCCI AD CAMPAIGNthanks for the link - I'm in Canada so it kept going to the Canadian Nordstrom site and this wasn't on there. WTF is all I have to say - super weird stuff for sure!

I grew up with Nordstrom’s having lived in Seattle. It was a big deal. But about twenty years ago I discovered it had jumped the shark for me...I simply don’t shop places like that anymore and find them boring. Remember this is a Seattle company so rain and grungy probably makes sense to whomever is in charge. So happy I escaped from Seattle...I love sunshine too much.

The reactions here are hilarious. I guess I'm the only Pea who saw there opening page and thought "Wow. I love it".
ETA: Especially Velma's glasses.

Why is he holding a gasoline container? Are those open vats of acid? I'm worried about the goat.

High fashion ads are often just weird in general. They set the clothes in weird situations and take weird artsy photos, and the models look weird and disconnected.
Caught in a rainstorm on a boat with a sad little calf is kind of a weird message to convey for a cruise collection. But who knows what the art director had in mind.
The only piece I was interested in getting a better look at was the coat the guy is wearing. And it's not even part of the collection that I could tell, it's just a prop.
But the collection itself is typical Gucci. Mostly preppy - classic with some streetwear thrown in. I liked some of the accessories, and I bet there will be cheap knockoffs of some of the shoes, sunglasses, and bags hitting the stores soon.
I've always loved fashion. But just can't take it too seriously. That photo though...just WTF?

That’s a cruise I don’t want to go on! Ha ha ha! That was my first thought as well! They all look downright miserable, right down to the sad, wet calf!

The clothes in the ad reminds me of something that came from the prop room for some of 70's theater group.

Loved the video. The clothes were ugly, but the animals kept it kicky. The first picture on Nordstrom.com? I had to do a double and triple take at what was between the guy's legs on the left. Why is he not wearing pants? Why is there a large cream colored thing (maybe rolled towel) placed there between his slender legs? I didn't even see the cow.

my first impressions: "WTF?!?!?" and "all those extremely expensive clothes are getting RUINED by the water."
that doesn't make me want to click to see their cruisewear, at ALL!!! It takes the 'haughty' model look to a whole new (low) level. Now instead of just looking 'haughty' or 'stuck-up' they look absolutely MISERABLE.

You know that dream you have, where you show up to work realizing you forgot to put on pants............
Dudes nightmare just became reality.

Ya'll are cracking me up... The irony is that they probably spent hours on hair and makeup to look this way. Meanwhile I got that look naturally last night, when I got caught in a rainstorm while I was out at the bookstore.

Oh my gosh, that is so funny! I think I've mentioned before that I like to read all the comments here and imagine it in my head before looking at the picture (usually real estate posts) and this one was even better than I could have ever imagined. I giggled when I saw it.

I could pay $1,100 for this: vinyl floral tote bagor pay $1 for something practically identical at the Dollar Store. ETA: and thanks to whoever posted the video- I still don't get it, but at least the boat, rain, and cow make a SMALL bit of sense when put into that context.
