All that angst and yet a good outcome... the definition of teenage years. Haha.
She's beautiful. I'm glad it all worked out.

Senior photos are pointless. I rarely think photos are pointless. They provide a springboard for memories unlike almost any other object for me. Said the mama who's over $600 into sitting fees and initial photo orders. Why you gotta rain on the parade of those of us who like them?

I picked out a favorite of each of my kids' pics and had them printed on a 18 x 24 inch canvas. They are priceless to me. They hang in my bedroom and make me smile each morning. Kind of a "Yeah, I made that" feeling.

Senior photos are pointless. Well, that's fairly rude.

Oh she's really pretty. I hope you got some great shots after that hiccup. Thank you. As her mother, of course, I think she's gorgeous. I think we got lots of good shots. After all that mess, she was very cooperative with the photographer. I really appreciate everyone's supportive words. Parenting teens is not for the faint of heart! This child has had some major struggles over the past couple of years, but overall, she's gaining in maturity and resilience, and developing her kind and generous heart, and I love her so much. Yes, I want the photos that commemorate who she is right now.

Yes, I want the photos that commemorate who she is right now. This is true. I am a objective third party though, and I can agree with you. I hope you'll post a few when you make your choices. It sure is not. I am not a parent to teens, but being an adult now I have so much empathy and appreciation for my mum and what she put up with from me. I think despite my at times angsty teenaged self, I managed to turn out a pretty decent person (I think, lol) - and that is thanks, in no small measure, to her. She said seeing glimpses of the person she was sure I'd become, was what kept her sane some days. LOL.

I hope she did get some shots wearing red eyeshadow though! That way, in 2045, she can contribute to a message board (or whatever the thing is) about “show off your crazy hair and/or makeup trends from the teens”. (Teens meaning her age and the years 2013-2019–see what I did there?)
Glad it went better than how the day started!

Parenting teenagers is f&%$ing hard work! My oldest was a dream until his senior year. Then I couldn't wait for him to leave. He pushed back on everything. Now, he is a lovely adult again. I think they just need to challenge every little thing at that age to prove they are "adults". For what it's worth, my youngest hated and still hates having his picture taking. In every photo, he looks like Chandler Bing in his engagement photos. He fights having to dress nice for them as well. But his senior portraits turned out amazing. Seriously, despite my bias, every single one was perfect. So I hope your day goes well and your DD has fun. this is my youngest exactly. he has a co-worker that is going to do his....eventually. he's sending me over the edge

Even though we don’t do senior photos here, I totally feel your pain - that would have stressed me out for sure. I’m glad she came to her senses. Oh, and her hair is amazing, she’s gorgeous.
