www.allrecipes.com/recipe/10477/chocolate-mint-cookies-i/I got this recipe from a similar thread here maybe 8 years ago. Every time I make these cookies I’m asked for this recipe. It is fantastic. You’ve inspired me to bake for dd’s birthday today. I usually make cookies for the loot bag. If I don’t have the mint candies i just use some mint chocolate chips in the centre of the cookie at the end. You let them melt a bit then spread the chocolate around.

Are you looking for easy or impressive? For easy I like THESE Powdered Sugar Cookies. Easy, quick and everybody loves them. For impressive, I have a bunch of options but THESE Mini Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies look so pretty on the tray and are a little different. I always have to make a double batch (at least) because my family eats them all before I get around to giving any away! ETA: If you make the Chocolate Thumbprints, word to the wise, you might want to double the glaze recipe right off the bat. I end up putting more like a teaspoon of the glaze on each cookie which looks and tastes right for a perfect ‘frosting to cookie’ ratio. If you are like me, you will run out of glaze way before you get them all filled so just make extra to begin with. You’re welcome, LOL.

Can you buy those mint wafer things in the grocery store?

Mini Chocolate Thumb Print Cookies recipe now printed and I'm excited to make them! The best cookies I made this past year were also the prettiest cookies I've ever made. They look like they belong in a bakery and I'm not THAT talented, I promise. I'm going to make them as gifts with M&M Holidays baking chips. Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip CookiesAlso, anyone who's doing holiday baking, these are mini muffins but they are AMAZING. Very well received. Pumpkin Butterscotch Mini Muffins

Lemon Sugar Cookies
With all the rich, heavy desserts that are offered up at this time of the year, I enjoy a light, citrusy cookie for a change. Plus, these are pretty foolproof.

I made the mint chocolate cookies last year after a Refugee Pea had posted it. Not sure who it was.
They are so incredibly addicting. Serious tasty little devils.
I bought the Andes mints at a large grocery store. They have a holiday sweet aisle.

Very rich. IIRC The dough tends to be a little on the dry side, so I usually work it a little with my hands before scooping / rolling the balls and that seems to help.

I've make these Raspberry Almond Shortbread Thumbprints and they are gone quick and simple to make. Sometimes I don't even bother with the glaze but it is a little added extra "yum". When I brought some to DD the first year of college, those that tried them were all asking for the recipe. I explained that I couldn't share because it was a secret old family recipe. Then I sent the link.

I think I recommended these once before: Chocolate Toffee Cookies
Notes: I don't make them "giant" as they are very rich. I leave out the nuts because my husband is allergic and they don't feel like they're lacking anything to me. *Most importantly--do not overbake. The edges should not be allowed to brown and crisp; the tops should be dry and cracked as the recipe says. They should be a soft and chewy cookie.
