Last night with the help of the cats and dogs the kids were only able to get the lights on the tree. It was also in part because DH loves lights and wants there to be no exposed tree, just lights. (Kidding, but it's close to reality. )
So this morning we were all in the living room and DD decides to put a few of the pseudo-unbreakable balls on the tree. Less than a minute later it hits the floor.
I told the family we just need to put the tree skirt under the tree and place the balls directly on the floor, artfully arranged, of course and cut out the middle-man, or in this case, middle cat.
DD finally gave up after several more hit the floor. DH took the ornament containers and set them on the floor next road the tree. And there they shall sit for who knows how long.
And I realized I has better post a photo of the culprit as per two peas rules.

You know there are people who get all of their Christmas decorations up during the weekend after Thanksgiving. Others have professional decorators to get their house looking festive. Still others have beautifully coordinated decorations.
And then there is our family.
So it's another CraftedbyS family Christmas decorating. This year we couldn't even FIND the tree--i thought it was at my parent's house still, I even sent my brother a text asking if he took it. No, it was stuck up in our attic. I thought we had a live tree last year.
So DD and DS opened the box and started putting the tree together. Before it was completely put together our 1 year old orange cat, Zoe Bartlet, was already trying to climb it.
Not to be outdone, as soon as it was together and plugged in, while DD was trying to fluff the branches, our older Black cat, Izzie-bella, managed to climb all the way to the top of the tree, which is a feat considering Bells is what you might call, thick . Or you could just call her fat. And there go the branches slowly drooping under her weight.
Then Zoe decided to knock over a plant and spill dirt everywhere then go after a random ball that was on the floor.
DS just hung some Christmas balls in DD's hair, another longstanding tradition.
DH and I have been married for 28 years. We have collected all kinds of beautiful ornaments over the years, including many crystal and glass ornaments from our time overseas.
I also have a beautiful China advent candle ring with nativity scenes on it. And an all white Delft porcelain nativity scene.
And what decorations are we using again this year?
The ugly unbreakable plastic ones from Walmart. Which arent, FYI, actually unbreakable.
So all this is going on with White Christmas playing in the background, and we are reciting all of the lines along with the movie.
The dog just stole a candy cane and was trying to eat it cellophane and all.
In other words, this is a typical chaotic Saturday night in December. I know in future years when it is just DH and I, I will look back on this fondly and miss the noise and mess, but for now I will just pour me another glass of wine.
Merry Merry from CraftedbyS and family.
