This was fun! Side note, they charge for shopping carts?

This was fun! Side note, they charge for shopping carts? Yes, it's a deposit - you have to put in either a $1 or $2 coin, which you then get back when you return your trolley. A lot of supermarkets do it, and you can always tell the ones which don't - they have trolleys strewn all over the carpark! The trolleys are always put away at the ones where you have to put in a coin, because no-one wants to lose their $1 or $2. I got shafted at Costco last time I was there. I was waiting to get a trolley. Someone was trying to put their trolley back and was taking ages, so another guy who was standing there also waiting to put his back asked if I wanted to take his, and I could just give him my coin. So I handed over the $2 coin that I had in my hand and took his trolley. When I went to return it later I realised that he'd only put a $1 coin into the slot in the trolley - ripped off! He doubled his money, made a whole buck out of me!

$195 If it were DH going, he would have to take DD because she has our second card. That would end up costing a whole lot more than the original list because she loves a Costco shopping trip. That basket would be full and her dad would insist on picking up the tab. Then he'd come home and bitch about how much she bought. ' Your post is cracking me up, because that is my family too! Down to DH paying and then bitching when he gets home. My favorite was when they’d go shopping, come back to our house, we’d spend the rest of the day cooking because her apartment kitchen was small and we had all the fun gadgets, and off she’d go with her free, cooked, and packaged food. Always knew that girl was smart. She lives a couple hundred miles away now, she sure does miss all that personal service, I mean us.

I'm equal parts relieved and disappointed I didn't win. I wanted to see those 7 foot teddy bears in the pile. I really did LOL at the M&Ms.

The past couple of years we have been gradually building up DD's kitchen with good stuff so gradually she is cooking more at her house. Now if I can do something about the "shopping" in my pantry/fridge/freezer when she comes to visit.

I want to play the next time your DH goes to Costco! My DH sticks to his list, or I would start my own thread game.

Wow, the box of kitchen trash bags I buy lasts me almost 2 years! I started writing down the date I opened the box (on the box) to see how long it took us to go through it. And this is taking the trash out weekly! Once in a while twice a week. Here our recylables have to be in bags that then go into the appropriate dumpster. Ah, I see. I can't bag my recyclables--the thinner plastic clogs up the machines. So I just use the bags for trash that can't be recycled. We recycle as much as we can, thus using only one bag a week for the most part.
