Down already. After being up for close to a month, I’m ready to have my living room back in order.

Always leave it up until 12th night but it will come down the day before this time because we'll be away for the weekend.

I selected New Year's but actually I always make sure it is down before New Year's Day....my mom says it is bad luck to have it up past 1l2/31 How funny... I've heard the opposite so I don't take mine down until after the new year. 😄 Ha Ha and we are both southern girls so go figure...personally I always thought it was just my mother's way of making sure all the decorations were put away before we went back to school

I usually take my stuff down the day after Christmas. But this year, Christmas sucked and I took it down Christmas night when I got home.

I usually enjoy the tree till NYE but honestly this year if it wasn't for dh wanting it up longer, I'd start taking it down today.
I wont take anything down in front of him & ruin the magic, but I've already started putting away decorations a little at a time. He'll never notice!

Used to take it down on NY day. The past few years we've waited until the weekend following NY Day.

Until the tree quits taking water or I get tired of it, usually the end of February.
The tree has only been up for 2 weeks. We have actually had trees put on new growth. At this point, it has become part of our tradition.

I usually leave it up until well into January. I might end up taking it down this weekend though because the tree is looking wilted already and we have basketball tournaments the next several weekends.

We didn’t put one up this year but we did put up the rest of our decorations. I took down the Christmas lights before we left on the 20th because I didn’t have time to get a digital switch to turn them on and off. I didn’t want it glaringly obvious that we weren’t home.
I’ll take down the inside decorations this week while I’m off work.

I leave it up until Epiphany, well actually, at least until then. I stop putting the lights on January 6th but it comes down in the weekends following as I get to it.
Since the 6th is on a Sunday this year I will likely gather up all the other Christmas stuff that day and ask DH to bring in the boxes.

It tends to come down the day after Christmas or the 27th. This year, it came down yesterday along with the lights. All we have left out is a bunch of holiday candy.

I’m nowhere near ready to take mine down.
I’m enjoying the glorious stretch of time between Christmas and back to school when no one knows what day it is and the house is littered with displays where the kids have set up their new stuff to look like a toy store. I’m not going to ruin any of that time by changing out the decorations (which is a solid 12 hr day task).

My grinch dh took the Christmas lights off the house yesterday before it started snowing since he was off work. The tree and decor will come down this weekend while I'm off work. I love all of the decor, but it's been up since the day after Thanksgiving so I'm ok taking it down this weekend. Usually I try to hold off til after New Year's eve.

At least until the ephinarh, as Christmas season begins on Christmas, not the 12 days before.
But I love my tree and would leave it up all year if I could.

I changed my answer- I first checked New Years, but changed to 'whenever I get sick of looking at it' because it might come down BEFORE New Years. (if I take it down this weekend) Or after, if I leave it till next weekend (which is Epiphany, I think?). It depends on what else I end up doing on the weekend.

I love Christmas. I love the warmth of the Christmas lights in my house. I have garland on the banisters and a soft tree in the dining room. A large tree in the center of the house and garland on on all them mantles (3 of them). Bigger garlands between rooms. Everything is sprinkled with tiny lights. It looks magical and I never want to take it down.
I usually wait until the weekend after New Year's.

The tree proved to be quite the production this year.... no chance to get a real tree, hauled the old artificial one out of storage only to find it had several strands of blown bulbs. Tried to replace those but got "cool" lights instead of warm. Then got LED instead of just incandescent. So, after three trips to get the right bulbs, I was already "over" the tree before it was ever even decorated.
I love my ornaments and having the tree but I am ready for this thing to come down and be put away for a year. I'm definitely not looking forward to the all-day project this always is but i am ready to have my house back to normal.
It sounds like a lot of us didn't have the merriest of Christmases this year and I'm right there with you. I am just ready to be DONE with it. Next year, I am going to put some serious limits on our spending and expectations.

Mine will probably come down Saturday. I’m ready to get the living room back in order. Dog toys and dog beds got shuffled around, and I’m annoyed with that now 😂

We always leave ours up until Epiphany, but we also decorate late - never before Dec 14th, as that is my younger son's birthday. DS's birthday is the 12th and we never used to put up the tree or decorate until after his birthday either. Now we look at the month and get it up earlier if the weekends between his birthday and Christmas are really busy. We take it down after NYE, so it may or may not make it the the Epiphany.

It varies. I usually wait until after Jan. 1st but I am ready for it to come down. The lights went out after 7 years on Christmas Day so I am ready to just take it down.

When we were practicing Catholics we left it up until after Epiphany. Now the Wise Men get put out the same time the manger goes up, and it all comes down New Years Day.

I took mine down today simply because it's in the way. Normally it stays up until after new years.

I don’t have a specific day, but I like to have it down by New Years Day. I may leave it up longer if we are entertaining for New Years Eve or a bowl game.
My Mountaineers play tomorrow, which is also my anniversary, so no bowl party at my house this year. The tree came down today, along with all the outdoor decorations. We had beautiful weather today, and I’m not working until January 2, so it seemed like a good day to get it done.

Just like "when does it go up?", it comes down whenever I feel like doing it. I'm ready to do it now which would be a lot earlier than normal, but since no one has bothered to turn the lights on the last two days, I'm thinking we might as well take it down.
