Hey U.S. peas, it's Super Bowl Sunday! Rams vs Patriots. I don't care who wins, but if I had to pick I'm going with the Rams. Are you going to document? I watch for the commercials. Do you have any traditions? In my family, we have Soup-er bowl Sunday. Each sibling brings a crockpot of soup. Then there's various snacks and desserts. I'll be staying home because my son has had pneumonia. I think he should be good to go to school tomorrow. I'm going to keep a close eye on him today though. That sounds like a wonderful tradition! The Rams have become my team (again, for those who don’t know they left LA for 20 years.) I will be watching. Thanks for the reminder about documenting. It’s been an exciting football season, with all of the teams I follow finally being on top. I will be so happy to see the Rams win. It will be a historic accomplishment with such a young coach and quarterback.

Is this class mainly just about doing PL weekly, or is it like a deeper dive into using pocket pages to tell in-depth stories, but not necessarily weekly for a year? I'm not sure if I'm clear on what I mean. I generally like her classes and might be interested in this. I like to get a list going of classes to buy and then wait for a sale, though, we probably won't get one until International Scrapbooking Day in May, I'm assuming. I hesitate to answer about it that definitively since I took the class 3 years ago... but I went back to the class and took a screen shot of the lesson summaries for you in case that is helpful. I took the class to help prep me for doing weekly PL and figuring out what I would want to document/capture and how after being wrapped up in documenting just about my babies for many years (albeit using pocket pages). So I had a much different focus and goal going into it. For me it was more about what kinds of details would I like to capture (or not and which ones did I never think about before) and how to pull that together into a spread. It also gave me a lot of inspiration for creating the larger spreads with an eclectic mix of photos/ephemera/etc. and how to incorporate product without getting carried away. I also picked up some good ideas for streamlining my process and using design formulas to keep it quick, easy, and interesting. But I am sure there has to be someone else here who went in with a story telling focus and walked away with more great ideas on how to work them into the pockets (if that is what you are looking for). Thanks for the screen shots and the review. I think there's always something to be learned from every class. I'll think about this one.

Like most people, I'm tired of seeing the Patriots. But I also dislike the Rams, if only because my husband is from St. Louis, and the owner really f-ed the city with that move. I'm not sure if I will watch, but if I do, I will probably document it. My husband is from Boston, so he's definitely not tired of seeing the Patriots! I really don't care though... I'm not a football fan. This year we're just staying at home and he's watching (what he likes to do when the Patriots are in the Super Bowl because he gets too into it to go to a party) and we'll have a few snacks and I'm baking soft pretzel sandwiches for dinner. I will hang out for part of it while we eat and then probably bail after the half time show so I can scrapbook

People that get into it are what make it awesome! I miss the days my team gave me something to go nuts over!

I'm officially caught up with Project Life so far for 2019. I have only had that happen one other time, maybe in March of last year.
Now to finish my December Daily...

I had a great weekend of catching up on my PL too, weeks 1-4 are now complete! I’ve been thinking of subbing to Felicity Jane, I ordered a few things in the sale that arrived earlier in the week, just to see what the quality, delivery time and cost to the UK were like. I was impressed with the quality and as I ordered mostly embellishments, stamps and puffy alphabets, the shipping costs weren’t too bad. I’ve already used a lot of the chipboard and tiny puffy stars/hearts on my layouts. I might sub just to supplement the supplies I already have.

lasteve1 Umm...totally off topic but please share your recipe for your soft pretzel sandwiches! Okay here goes. Unfortunately I don't have a source to credit because I've had this recipe for so long. I do think that I originally got the dough portion off the internet though, so I feel bad for not crediting a source, although I likely have changed it a bit since then.
Makes 6 pretzels:
Ingredients 1 cup milk 1 package yeast 3 tbsp. brown sugar 2 1/4 cup flour + more for kneading 3 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. baking soda coarse salt ham gruyere or swiss Dijon mustard
Directions 1. Warm the milk and combine with yeast, let sit for 2 minutes. 2. Add the brown sugar and 1 cup flour, stir until smooth. 3. Add 2 tbsp. melted butter, 1 tsp. salt and the remaining 1 1/4 cup flour and mix until it forms a dough. 4. Roll the dough with more flour if necessary until it forms a ball and is not sticky. 5. Place the dough in the bowl, cover it with cling wrap, and let rise for 1 hour. 6. Preheat oven to 450 degrees and grease a baking sheet. 7. Dissolve the baking soda in 2 cups luke warm water. 8. Knead the dough out and divide into 6 pieces. 9. Roll each piece into a rope and twist into a pretzel shape. 10. After twisting each pretzel, dip it in the baking soda water and then place on the baking sheet. While still wet, sprinkle each pretzel with coarse salt. 11. Bake for 9 minutes, leave the oven on and remove the pretzels. 12. Let cool until safe to touch, then remove each pretzel from the baking sheet and slice in half like a hamburger bun. 13. Spread Dijon mustard inside the pretzel, then add a layer of cheese and ham. 14. Close up the pretzel and place it back on the baking sheet. 15. Put the pretzels back in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. 16. Meanwhile, melt the remaining tbsp. of butter in the microwave. 17. When the pretzels come out of the oven, use a brush to brush butter on the top of each pretzel. Then enjoy
Tips: + If you would prefer to just have tasty soft pretzels, when you hit step #11, bake for 11-12 minutes and then skip to step #16. + If you are making sandwiches, it's best to not roll the dough into too skinny of ropes because you want the pretzel to "grow together" while in the oven so that there aren't the holes in the normal pretzel shape (I hope that makes sense). The baking soda in the water will help it grow more than you expect, so before it goes in the oven it will still have the normal pretzel shape. + You can skip the melted butter on the top, but I think it adds a little something (although that definitely includes calories, ha)

I ordered the Pinkfresh Everyday Musings journaling cards & pockets. I was really disappointed to the card quality. The printing is not very crisp, reminds me of the SC cards before they switched printers. One of the journaling pockets was cut incorrectly.
Normally I'd let it slide but the messed up pockets was one of the cutest so I thought I'd email Pinkfresh - I was pleasantly surprised, they responded very quickly and will send out a pack of replacement pockets. The gal also commented that they would be paying more attention to card quality, but you know how that goes.

I have a 3 day crop coming up Mar1-3. I go every year and take those 3 days to get my new album up to date. But I’m still not done with 2018, so tgere’s That also. Usually in a big catch up spurt I keep it super minimal

February recap for me: 1. Birthday month and birthday celebrations for both of us here. We managed to keep it simple and I think our desire to spend time with friends and fam' is finally getting through to them: several people have gifted us restaurant outings and even a stay in a little cabin by the sea owned by the parents of a friend of mine this summer so we can have some alone time right here on the shore but away from the city. Yay! 2. Winter sales were good this year. I got my Adidas Triple Black Sobakov for a third of the original retail price by waiting patiently for the price to drop and then add a code right at the end of the official sales period (France is very strict about these retail sales) and some nice bed linen;
4. Managed to escape for a day at Disneyland Paris again and a weekend in Lisbon;
6. Kept up with the delightful Schitt$ Creek which is finally getting some major love on the interwebz. The audition had me in tears. And yes, I totally bought A Little Bit Alexis for my music library (available from Apple Music, Amazon, etc.). "Vroom vroom, bitches!" If you're not watching this show yet, what are you doing?; 7. My mother had an accident and is currently stuck in bed; 8. Which means she needs a lot of help and I'm doing as much as I can; 9. Which means I've been sick for ten days now (allergies due to her kitties) and exhausted from going back and forth; 10. SPRING IS BAAAAACK with tree blossom everywhere, clear blue skies and temperatures heating up, JOY OH JOY; 11. Alfonso Cuarón/Roma and Period: End of Sentence winning at the Oscars; 12. My SO had some good news at work; 13. Dries Van Noten killing the competition at Paris Fashion Week F/W 2019/2020; 14. Karl Lagerfeld passing;
That's all. My month has been dominated by my mother's tumble and how that's impacted my daily life, sleep schedule and health with the allergy. Come share your PL must-adds for February if you haven't yet! It's a great help to get the documenting done (or started, in my case for the past month)!

I have a list for the first few weeks so far so I know what I'll do for the 52 stories version: wk1 prancing and plunging into the lake on New Years day wk2 Portland Cello Project concert performing Radiohead's OK Computer album wk3 a really delicious fried oyster appetizer we had wk4 probably the 24in48 readathon coming up this weekend wk5 walking the new highway 99 tunnel before it opens and the Seattle Viaduct before it's demolished Quoting myself for context. I have made a start on my digi project, making layouts for weeks 1, 2, and 4. They're not great, but they're not bad. Luckily I can tweak them as I go. I think as I do more pages I'll get more familiar with the process and find my style. I still haven't figured out how (or if) to integrate books, movies, podcasts, and random nonsense. My highlights for the weeks of Feb: 6. Snowpocalypses 7. Ditto (ugh!) Snowshoeing to the post office (so many snow photos, it's going to be hard to chose! We don't usually get much snow) 8. Behold the Dreamers book/author event 9. DITL collage page of some kind I'm trying to be really good and only buying digi supplies if i have a specific place where I know I'm going to use them on my page. My style so far has been really minimal so I'm not finding much need for extra stuff. Half of the supplies I already have are AE Story themes from the first year. So far nothing from there has been useful for this project and I don't see that changing. I have my eye on some IACB digital stamps and a few Liz T stuff from the-lilypad.

I’ve been working on 12x12 layouts lately, but I’m going to put those albums aside for a bit and get back to pockets this month. Lots to catch up on from last year!

Still need to finish up 2018 😒 I have the pictures but finding the time has been a struggle! I've been in charge of a school wide project for the past month, between planning, creating and now finally this week implementing it has taken ALL my creative energies! Looking forward to this being done and getting back into personal creative projects. Although I'm seriously reconsidering even doing PL for 2019 since I haven't even started yet, especially the weekly approach. If anything I might try the monthly approach because then I'm only 2 behind instead of 10 🤣
