well my computer has been dieing and it did..my daughter was going to bring daves laptop from the hospital but forgot but she sees a tower in the living room.. next to a big box of computer parts and she and her boyfreind hooked this one up for me thankfullymy daughter and her boyfreind cleaned, vacumed, did tons o flaundry that was ours and theirs, gave me a shower too.. they stayed far lots of hours...I have bad news about my husband..they think it is congestive heart failure it depends how bad it is..to see what they need to do he might stay longer.. I am worried sick about him now :(I sure did not think it was this my daughter is coming back tomorrow after she goes to the hospital which is good. my son said he would come back if we need him and she told him yes which was good. I am going to ask my neice to come over again tomorrow.. I feel a bit better.....when dave was in for the month my neighbor came over daily and called me to make sure I was alright and to see if I needed anything I called him when I needed something which was great.. he also had a key to the houuse in case I fell.. my daughter is the only person that has a key. my son had moved. I called and told him and he said he would be watching out for us. He has different hours so he works at 10 pm which makes me feel better. I said I saw the weather on the news and it said rain then freeze..I was worried about my daughter going to the hospital and here if it was frozen.. I was worried about my neice saying it ws frozen but he said the roads would be cleaned so that made me feel better.

I'm praying for you, your husband, your family and sending (( hugs )) I'm very sorry you have SO much to deal with, but I AM very happy that you have wonderful family members, your dear neighbor, and a sweet doggie! Is there a chance you could have a care aide or nurse come to help you when/ if your family isn't available? I HOPE that with Huntington's, you qualify for some in-home nursing care, because it is expensive IF your insurance doesn't cover it, BUT.... aside from that, there are agencies that have volunteers who will grocery shop, clean, cook etc. and/or just come by to keep you company. Also, do you have "Meals on Wheels?" I'm sure it is very difficult for you to cook since you fall so easily. More (( hugs ))

More (( hugs )) you are right about the home care aid or nurse aid for my huntingtons..we talked about it with my dr. we did not need it then. we were talking about this yesterday for dave too. mydaughter cleans, goes to the grocery for us often. she calls him daily and offers to get him anything..grocery shopping too. only he does not ask her that many times. he is a person that does what ever needs to be done around the house. even recently he was cleaning and I said let ang do that. ang does not mind cleaning either...we certainly could get a houekeeper. Dave and I used to cook together but he mostly prefe rs to do it alone now but recently he told ang that he felt so week he did not feel like cooking anything but mydaughter offered him to cook meals for him and put in the freezer. my dr told me about these sr volunteers who will do anything for you. company would be nice sometimes too.

Do you have a local Meals on Wheels? You might try them.
I’m glad to hear that your Dh will be coming home soon. It will be great for you to have the company again. It might be worth it to look into getting outside help now for both of you - that way your kids won’t burn out and can enjoy some chore-free visiting time with you.

I am feeling a bit better I think. thanks for asking. my neice has been visiting Dave and bringing me food each day..she said that if all goes well he will be home tomorrow which sounds wonderful. Dave just called me and said they are sending him home today well my daughter isn't happy about it I talked to her.. she has thought that they always send him home way too early whether it was a hospital or nursing home for years. so Dave just called and they are going to check his blood prerssure and will be home tomorrow. I sure hope that is true. my daughter came over last night and did lots of laundry and stayed for hours which was great I went to bed at 6 am while she was still here her wiper blade broke so she called her boyfreind and they stayed for a couple more hours. my neice said that if the power goes out I can stay at her house which is great. my neice brought me soup and cleaned the driveway and sidewalk a bit. she said that we only got a dusting of snow thankfully.

well my daughter thinks it might not be tomorrow I hope that she is wrong. I have been worried sick about this frigid weather...lots of people having different problems from freezing pipes, furnace problems, power outages.

If the power goes out and lights go out I will not be able to see at all and I will fall I use the hall light to make me feel safer when I try to sleep. I fall in my bedroom lots of times..this month I fell there too .. I will not be able to be online or watch tv either. I do not have a smart phone. I am also worried about falling in the dark no matter when it was or where it was the other thing is our home phone is from our cable company and it goes off when the lights or their service goes out. I have a dinosaur cell flip phone that I have not used for soooo long I forget how..I asked my neice and she tried to figure it out and pput her and angs number as a contact but I am afraid I will not really be able to use it if I need to.

we had an energy audit of our house from a power company a few years ago. they put insulation in the attic and walls and gave us a new fridge too cause our was so old and not power saving. maybe this is why our faucets and pipes are ok today.

Do you have access to a walker? That might help you with mobility in your home. Here iin Alberta Canada the aids to daily living program would pay for most of the walkers price. Maybe your area has a prgram that could help you.We have an old rotary dial phone and an old plug in phone around that don’t use electricity. The thought is that we can use them if the power goes out.
