So I booked Vegas!! YAY. We got flight+hotel for a pretty good price thru allegiant. Staying 4 days at the Flamingo.
Sooo. Tell me what are good shows to go to?
I know we have had threads on where to eat, but refresh my memory!
Also the timing on things. So you have a show at 7pm. What time do you get reservations for dinner? I know things are pretty spread out, but I think I would try and make a dinner reservation for someplace close to the show we are seeing that night.
I think for our 1st trip we will just stay close by and not venture out too much. We will see.
THanks everyone for being patient with me and helping me plan this!

What are you looking for regarding restaurants? Celebrity chefs? Type of cuisine? Is cost an issue?
I love Chica, Bouchon and Yardbirds at the Venetian. Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. Burger Bar, Craft Kitchen. The buffet st Bellagio.

THanks everyone for being patient with me and helping me plan this! Go to the website of the hotel where your show is and look around... a lot of the restaurants have a pre-show special. (If you tell us where and what show, I can scope it out for you later if you can't find what I'm talking about.) Usually, we will go for the earlier show time and eat after, at like 9 (even though that's 11 Central, lol). We like Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY. But live music starts at 9 or 10, and it's LOUD. Enjoy your trip! ETA: or maybe you haven't booked a show yet. You can still check out the websites for the dinner and a show options. And I don't have a show to recommend, but I can suggest skipping Zumanity.

My favorite show was the Beatles LOVE! It was amazing! It's at The Mirage and that is really where most of the hustle and bustle is. You are in the center of everything. Great place to eat all over!

Mystere at Treasure Island is my favorite cirque show. Also O at Bellagio is good.
Things I do when I go there for work (and do not gamble): Bellagio fountains Bellagio gardens and blown glass ceiling Venetian walk thru shops, get gelato Caesars walk for shops, strolling Walk down by the Linc, restaurants, shops and promotional things going on Knights hockey games
Look online to see if there are any bigger concert events while you are there, the t mobile center is nice. Or also any other big events at convention center.
To eat, not too fancy: Grimaldi's in Palazzo Hash House a go go in Linc In & Out burger
Can't think of anything else right now. There's lots of good shows, like singing, impersonators, if you like that.

Just saw Mystere 2 nights ago. It was fantastic, very interesting, and a bit weird. Next on my list is O, and/the Beatles show.
A cool place to see that are not on the strip is the Neon Museum. You can see it both during the day, or at night. Both times are really neat.

I ate at the Grimaldi's by the Brooklyn Bridge - the best pizza I have ever had. I'm going with my husband and daughters in June. We are definitely going there. My kids (22 & 16) also want to go to In & Out Burger. I normally don't get too excited about going to chains, but we don't have them here and my kids want to check it out.

Show suggestions: I love Le Reve! (Wynn) Human Nature (Venetian) Carrot Top is hysterical! (Luxor) Donny and Marie put on a great show if you are a fan (Flamingo)
Things to do: Bellagio Conservatory Lina and High Roller
As far as restaurant suggestions
Yardbird (Venetian) Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips (Linq) Gordon Ramsay Steak (Paris) if you get your steak Oscar style, you get crab legs and lobster! Guy Fieri Vegas Kitchen and Bar (Linq casino) Giada is yummy but people with big appetites don’t love it (Cromwell) Martoranos is my favorite Italian-carbonara is to die for! (Paris) If you dont like spicy, I don’t recommend Bobby Flays Mesa Grill Grimaldi Pizza (Palazzo)
Have a great time!

Staying 4 days at the Flamingo. Yea!! I am so happy that you picked the Flamingo, since it is my favorite hotel there! The location is perfect and you can walk to most anything you want to see. Donny and Marie have a show in the Flamingo (not sure if they will be there when you are so you'll have to check) - they sell out pretty much every night so if you want to see them, I suggest you buy your tickets in advance. Let me tell you, their show is fantastic! So high energy and fun - non stop!! They are really good and if you are able to see them, I would really recommend it. Friends of ours saw the Beatles "Love Cirque du Soleil" show at The Mirage (within walking distance of the Flamingo) and they raved about it (but we didn't get to see it). A couple that we met in the airport and ended up hanging around with a lot in Las Vegas saw Zumanity at New York, New York and they enjoyed it. Le Reve - The Dream at the Wynn is a good show. We also went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum at the Venetian - it was fun and we got $10 off (look for those little coupon books laying about the strip for good deals on shows) There is a discount show booth located near Bally's (close to the Flamingo) - go to shows for less Of course there are some fun free things to do too: Freemont Street Experience (you will need to take a taxi/uber) - this is a must for a true Las Vegas Experience Watch the Volcano eruption at the Mirage - also visit their large salt water aquarium See the Wynn Fountain show Watch the Bellagio Fountains (note, we could even see them from our room at the Flamingo) Visit the Bellagio Conservatory (beautiful!) Bally's Grand Bazaar Shops has a nightly light show Get your photo taken in front of the "Las Vegas Sign" which is near Mandala Bay (go early in the morning - less busy) Visit the The Atlantis Aquarium at Caeser's Palace (daily dive feeds at 1:15 and 5:15) While at Caeser's watch "The Fall of Atlantis" (hourly near the Aquarium) Go to the M & M Store (free 4D movies) Go to the Hershey Store (in NY NY)

I've only booked flight and hotel. Haven't booked any shows yet. Depending on what shows we can get is where I was going to do dinner. What's wrong with zumanity? Zumanity is good, but it isn't the most popular. It is semi-naked people doing lots of sexy things in water. The other O shows are much more spectacular. The O show in the Wynn is awesome. It is a water show. Blue Man group is always good and there are comedians at the MGM that are generally quite good also. If you are into people watching at its finest, take the bus or an Uber down the strip to the original casinos on Fremont Street. If you go at night, there is a light show on the "ceiling" outdoors that is pretty cool and free. It is about 7 minutes long every hour on the hour after dark. And boobies. There are lots of regular old boobies hanging out there too. The casinos there have a better reputation for being a tiny bit looser with their payouts.

I would say see a Cirque show above all, my fave (I have seen them all) is Beatles LOVE at the Mirage. For casual but special dining, I have never had a bad meal at an Emeril Lagasse restaurant. Out of your way is the one in the MGM. He also has one that is a sports bar at the Venetian/Palazzo. Buddy V's in the Venetian is my family's fave.

I've only booked flight and hotel. Haven't booked any shows yet. Depending on what shows we can get is where I was going to do dinner. What's wrong with zumanity? Zumanity is the show that explores human sexuality. The performers themselves were fine. But we did not know that there would be Random. Audience. Participation. Now, it's not super weird participation-- IIRC, it's mostly a little playful banter (it's been like 3 years since I saw it, so I don't remember the specifics)-- but even the remote possibility that I might be called on in a room full of strangers is a nightmare for this introvert, so I didn't really get to enjoy the show for what it was because I was too worried they might call on me. (We were in the 2nd row.) Maybe that's not the sort of thing that would bother you, though. But I've seen many people say the other Cirque shows are better anyway. We went because we had a buy one get one free ticket offer. Had I known then about them calling on the audience, I might have picked another show, or at least seats further away from the stage. If I were going when you are, I'd want to see if Penn & Teller are available. I'd like to see them, even though some of the reviews for the show are iffy. But we usually go in the summer, and they are off then. We saw Kathleen Madigan (comedian) at the Mirage last time we were there. It was a nice theater and a good show. We have tickets to see a different comedian when we go next. (Part of their Aces of Comedy shows. Not sure if there will be a show while you're there. Looks like Michael Carbonaro on March 29... I think he's an illusionist?)

Timing wise we found it easiest to eat at restaurants at the same hotels of the shows we went to. Call the restaurants and ask what time they recommend. We ate at Picasso’s when we saw ‘O’ at the Bellagio. I highly recommend both. That is still my favorite Cirque show and we’ve probably seen 10-12 of them. DH’s is ‘Mystere’. If you finish ‘O’ early you can wander the Observatory. Otherwise take in that and the Chihuly glass in the lobby before you leave. We actually loved every restaurant we ate at when we stayed there, but I think only Prime Steakhouse and the buffet are still there.

I saw that Donny and Marie are there while we are there. I LOVE Donny. ha. I hope my dh is up for them. Many men come to the show (probably because their wives made them) but they end up enjoying the show more than they thought they would. If you have the extra money and are willing to spend it, get the meet and greet tickets (every show night except Saturday) - you get to meet them after the show and they will sign photos (provided to you) or whatever you want to them to sign - Marie is especially fun to meet!

It has been ages, I’m sorry I don’t remember. Some shows we went to dinner before the shows, some we ate after. But the restaurants will be able to tell you pretty precisely, they deal with it every night. The concierge at your hotel can probably guide you as well.

I'd like to make some of the reservations before hand, and right online, so I have confirmation. I'm sort of one of those people that like to plan ahead.
Does anyone else know?

I love Michael Jackson One. We've seen it 3 times and I love it every time.
If you want a great show and don't mind raunchy (& I mean that.... Do not go if you are easily offended), I love Absinthe. I nearly peed myself from laughing so hard.

I think I’m misunderstanding something. You can call the restaurants right now and ask what time you should book your meal for a show that starts at a certain time. And I’m pretty sure you can work with the concierge before you get there. I know we did.
