trump... ”Just out: The USA has the absolute legal right to have apprehended illegal immigrants transferred to Sanctuary Cities. We hereby demand that they be taken care of at the highest level, especially by the State of California, which is well known or its poor management & high taxes!” “Democrats must change the Immigration Laws FAST. If not, Sanctuary Cities must immediately ACT to take care of the Illegal Immigrants - and this includes Gang Members, Drug Dealers, Human Traffickers, and Criminals of all shapes, sizes and kinds. CHANGE THE LAWS NOW!” This man is such a stupid idiot. The vast majority of the folks dimwit donnie is blabbing about are here seeking asylum which is legal. The responsibility of taking of care these folks while their requests for asylum are processed is the federal government, not individual cities, not individual states, but the federal government. Why didn't the GOP do something while they held BOTH houses for years?!?!?! Since when is the State of California the highest level over the Federal Government? (bold mine) Question= is there any way for these people to be processed for asylum if they are taken to California? Could that be considered their first stop that they are able to apply?

(bold mine) Question= is there any way for these people to be processed for asylum if they are taken to California? Could that be considered their first stop that they are able to apply? As long as the asylum-seeker is physically present in the US regardless of which city, he/she can apply for asylum. I don’t know about California, but in Illinois we have many organizations and non-profit groups that offer free legal advice and assistance in filling out asylum forms and guiding seekers how to navigate the system. We also have many non-profits whose purpose is to aid them get housing, food and medical attention if needed. Trump isn’t going to do anything humane or intelligent when it comes to immigration. In over two years everything he’s done has been challenged in court and he’s been forced to back down. This latest gimmick of his is going nowhere, but he likes doing it, screaming hysterically about “illegals” that are “infesting” (like they’re no better than cockroaches) our country. And the reason he doesn’t want to hunker down and actually do the work of crafting humane, viable solutions is because he would lose his raison d’etre – the one thing he can yell about on TV and in his rallies to rile his base. In just the last few days, I have read about a dozen papers that offer a great number of workable solutions that will not run afoul of due process and immigration laws, AND respect the fact that the population we’re talking about are human beings. One of them was even published by Fox News that regularly features writings by Ali Noorani, a non-partisan advocate of immigrants. The problem is not that we’re incapable as a country to solve at least some of the more immediate immigration challenges. The problem is Trump.

I think we may be getting sidetrack with trump’s intention.
Yes California has plenty of organizations that can help asylum seekers.
trump thinks he can just dump these individuals in sanctuary cities and force them to take of them.
But the process (court) and the housing of these individuals is the Federal Government’s responsibility. Not the individual states and not the individual cities responsibility. The reason is because asylum seekers are seeking asylum not to the state of California or the City of San Francisco, but to the United States Of America. Which is the only entity that can grant asylum. Which means it is handled by the Federal Government.
If trump were to move asylum seekers to San Francisco, they would have to stay at a federal facility or the Feds would have to rent space, the employees taking care of these folks would be federal employees.
If trump were to just release these individuals in San Francisco, there is no guarantee they would stay there waiting for their day in court. They could just disappear and the City of San Francisco has no duty to keep track of these individuals because it’s the Feds responsibility. And based on how trump has let it be known how he feels about these individuals, I suspect they would feel their best chance to stay in this country is to scatter.
trump might push that it was the individual cities and states responsibility and that would end up in court. And I would suspect he would lose.

Question. Do you think trump should release his tax returns? Follow-up Question. If not, why not? Since Nixon, presidential candidates and sitting presidents have regularly released their tax returns. That is a lot of years of released tax returns. With trump stonewalling the release of his, wouldn’t a reasonable person wonder what is he hiding? Its kind of like the Mueller Report. Barr says there is nothing to see here, but refuses to released an unredacted copy of the report. As a citizen I don’t need to see a complete unredacted copy. But I do not understand Barr’s reasoning for not giving members of the Judiciary Committee in both House copies of the complete report and evidence. Congress is a co-equal Branch Of Government that is charged with oversight of the Execution Branch and as such should receive a copy of the report. In both the cases, a reasonable person has to ask the question “what is trump hiding?” If nothing, then he is his own worst enemy because these questions are ‘t going away. And they shouldn’t until we get answers. I have never bothered to look at any previous president's tax returns and I not interested in Trump's. I vote based on issues not tax returns. If congress is so damned determined to see a president's tax return then pass a law making it mandatory. While they're at it they should make it mandatory for all members of congress too, especially those on the Ways and Means and Finance committees. I'd be really interested in seeing how you become a millionaire on a salary of $174,000 a year. As for the Mueller report, Barr is following the law. Redactions are being made not by him alone, Mueller is assisting in what will and will not be released. I don't trust any of them to keep that information secret, we all know Washington leaks like a sieve. Trump has nothing to do with it, he'll see the report the same time the rest of us see it so what could he be hiding. Barr has said repeatedly that he has not spoken to anyone in the White House or the president about the report. Congress can take the issue up with the court just like they did with Fast and Furious which they're still battling over. LOL. Dems too stooopid. Setting aside the irony of SHS working daily to defend a man whose glaring ignorance of government, laws, economics, geography, and the Constitution he has sworn to protect has become legendary, this latest attempt by her is pathetic by any measure. Ms Sanders would be well-served if she started her day with a bowl of Wheaties so she may shift the brain into first gear and formulate a more intelligent retort.

Why does anyone think it’s a good idea for a Russian Company to build anything in this country??
Molly McKew..
”You can't make this up, tweeps:
Company of sanctioned Russian oligarch & election interferer DERIPASKA -- granted unexplained sanctions relief by Treasury --announces it will build totally pointless aluminum plant in Kentucky, home of McConnell+Rand Paul”
”The facility will use aluminum imported from Siberia and other people's technology to roll metal. Sure. Whatever.”
”RUSAL and Braidy Industries will construct a green field aluminium rolling mill in Ashland, Kentucky
15.04.2019
Moscow, 15 April 2019 – RUSAL (SEHK: 486, Moscow Exchange: RUAL), one of the leading global aluminium producers, and Braidy Industries Inc., a US base holding company which owns both Veloxint, an MIT-incubated lightweighting solutions company, and NanoAl, a Northwestern University incubated materials research and technology company, announce an intent to establish a joint project in Ashland, Kentucky, USA to produce flat rolled aluminium products for the US automotive industry.
The design capacity of the rolling mill will amount to 500 thousand tons of hot rolled band and 300 thousand tons of fully finished cold rolled products on an annual basis. It will be the widest US-based cold rolling mill with a width of 104 inches. The output from the mill will aid towards rebalancing the anticipated deficit of the auto body sheet in the US market.
The mill will operate with state-of-the art equipment provided by industry leaders. This will ensure market leadership whilst providing a sustainable competitive advantage in the long term.
RUSAL will supply aluminium (both in slab alloys and as a primary metal) for the new rolling mill from its new Taishet aluminium smelter that is currently under construction in Siberia. Delivering value added products (“VAP”) to the new Kentucky mill is consistent with RUSAL’s commitment to increase the share of its VAP offerings as part of the Company’s total production and sales.
In exchange for its investment RUSAL will earn a 40% share. Braidy Industries will keep the balance 60%. The project debt will be raised from several financial institutions.
RUSAL and Braidy Industries have entered into an exclusive Letter of Intent which details the commercial conditions for the joint venture alongside providing details for any future negotiations going forward. The binding documentation for the Project is expected to be signed during the second quarter of 2019 after the final decision about the implementation of the Project is made.
The demand for flat rolled products in North America has demonstrated the robust growth over the past 5 years and this will continue above average rates all over the world, especially in the automotive sector. The key driver of this demand growth is the Corporate Average Fuel Economy regulations (CAFE) that cause an increase and immediate switch from the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to aluminium-based components. The chosen location of the mill that will be in close proximity to a large number of automotive supply manufacturers will ensure efficient transportation of the finished products.
The joint project with Braidy Industries is an excellent opportunity for RUSAL to expand the Company’s diverse expertise in one of the key areas of aluminium downstream products. It will also reinforce the Company’s presence on the strategic market.

linkRyan Goodman... ”I poured extensive research into this article. Could not imagine a better time to publish it. "Barr’s Playbook: He Misled Congress When Omitting Parts of a Justice Department Memo in 1989" From the article. Sound familiar? ”On Friday the thirteenth October 1989, by happenstance the same day as the “Black Friday” market crash, news leaked of a legal memo authored by William Barr. He was then serving as head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC). It is highly uncommon for any OLC memo to make headlines. This one did because it was issued in “unusual secrecy” and concluded that the FBI could forcibly abduct people in other countries without the consent of the foreign state. The headline also noted the implication of the legal opinion at that moment in time. It appeared to pave the way for abducting Panama’s leader, Gen. Manuel Noriega. Members of Congress asked to see the full legal opinion. Barr refused, but said he would provide an account that “summarizes the principal conclusions.” Sound familiar? In March 2019, when Attorney General Barr was handed Robert Mueller’s final report, he wrote that he would “summarize the principal conclusions” of the special counsel’s report for the public.

Well, Trump is like a god...he knows everything (in his own tiny little fake tan addled brain)
Despite not being a pilot and knowing nothing about planes, he's giving advice to Boeing now:
link Add features and rebrand - sure that's going to fix all the problems, just call it something else and pretend the bad stuff never happened. He might be on to something though...it worked for him and his base
Gah and I hate that "what would I know?" crap when the person saying it obviously thinks he knows it all.
