Those that are saying they are going to cancel over it but don't complain about it they can't fix what they don't know about. If you don't complain they will think it doesn't matter to you. I have been lucky and things have shown up when they were suppose to but if not I would send and email or something so they knew it wasn't working out. I know I am spoiled and if i order and it says it will be here guaranteed in 2 days I expect it in 2 days. If it says it will take a few more days and I know that when I order - no big deal.
I really think if it bothers you enough that you are considering canceling you should let them know there is a problem. I know some times items under Prime are more money but when I look for non-prime options the shipping is usually a lot more and it makes it more expensive than the Prime option - not always but most of the time. I also often check locally to see if it is a good deal or not unless it is an item I want and can't find locally - that happens a lot.

I didn't read the entire thread, but this has happened to me several times, usually when the carrier hands the package to the USPS. I opened an online conversation with them about this topic, and let them know that *every* time they hand a package over to USPS, it is late. They have extended my Prime membership a month each time it has happened. (And complained about it.) Unfortunately, they can't specify which carrier it will be shipped.

Principle. I pay $90 a year to get it in 2 days regardless. I think in the past the have given me credits toward the next purchase for that?

So far we've only had a problem with one item, but DH didn't check that it was PRIME item. It came a week later. I just don't like that some of them come USPS. I don't always check my mail because it's at the end of the street and I'm lazy lol, but if it's smaller they put it in the box and I forget. The prime stuff for the most part has come in the two days. I think the trick is just to make sure the it is the PRIME items that comes faster. I don't know if that's a misconception or what not.

I've had prime items not shipped for over a week...then an estimated additional week to arrive. More and more this was happening all this summer. And I live near one of amazons big distribution centers. As far as complaining to Amazon...good luck with that. Last year I had a problem, before we paid for prime, and it was not easy finding any contact to deal with the problem. Perhaps they've improved their customer service regarding how to contact them. But bottom line, we started finding that Amazon was continually changing the price of items in our cart...so often that we'd have to write it down. Much of the time, the price was being changed before we placed the order. We use to be very loyal amazon customers but this summer we lost trust in their ethics. After our prime has expired, we will continue to use Amazon but will no longer assume it's offering good prices. I just ordered an item that was more than 25% cheaper on ebay, including postage, than it was on amazon prime.

Fedex has put a box of photos underneath my door mat before. Idiotic place to put any kind of package! I was lucky enough not to step on them and lucky that I saw them before it started raining. I have also had them launch a box six feet into the air (I saw it happen) over my fence to land in my patio. And the best part? I was home both times, they could have knocked on the door and I would have taken the packages from them. Idiots.

I hate when they put it under the mat or put a really heavy box blocking the door so you can't open the door and have to go out through the garage to move it and bring it in. Usually the drivers are smart enough to just put it to the side behind a column so that it isn't seen from the street - I hate when they put it under the mat as well.
We have common mail boxes here and they have a large locked box and if you package will fit they leave the key in your box and then you can just collect it - saves them from having to bring it to your door vs the common boxes - I think it is pretty clever. It is nice because this way no one can steal it and it is out of weather. This only works for USPS of course but still kind of nice - well it is for us as we live close to the box and don't live on a hill anymore - oh how I hated going up and down the hill to get mail at our old house. Of course most of the items we have had delivered lately won't fit - lawn mover, DH's new computer, tv mounts, furniture.

If it is in stock and fulfilled by Amazon it comes in two days without fail. If it shows as 1 of more days to process, or coming from a 3rd party, it ships in 2 days after whatever they state that processing time is.
Sometimes I pay the $4 upgrade to overnight an item If I want it ASAP. Cheapest overnight around. If you live in BFE it might take a bit longer than 2 days. If you order from third party not fulfilled by Amazon it might take longer. Look for it and if that's not good enough, when searching for items refine to search only for items fulfilled by Amazon. Half the time I get it overnight instead of it taking 2 days, but we have three fullfillment centres around town.

I just got a package in 2 days. Prime.
I have never had a problem, except that the fedex guy delivered 2 pkgs to our next door neighbor and she didn't tell us. one of the packages were needed asap so Amazon delivered it /it arrived on time! new order.
