Complain about Prime 2 day shipping or not? UPDATE 10/6

I ordered a couple of pet items with Prime and it will arrive in 3-5 days.  Whaaaaat? 3-5 days is not prime. 

What's the FedEx tracking say about where the package is?

I think if it were in town, I'd let it go.  Or maybe wait and see if it says two-day shipping or something on the label and take it up with FEDEX for being slow.  But not picked up from Amazon yet? I'm gonna write a letter when it gets here.

The thing is, I'm not sure what they're gonna do about it for you.  Two years ago, I ordered a keyboard for my sister's iPad.  I don't remember why I was so late in ordering it-- might have been that it took her that long to tell me she wanted it.  Anyhow, I ordered it and paid EXTRA for shipping because it had said I would have the package on the 23rd.  Guaranteed.  Except I didn't get it in time.  I got it the 24th, but I needed it that morning, and so I was gone before it was delivered.  

When I emailed, they apologized and refunded the shipping.  Which was fine, since the product was right.  But with your shipping "cost" folded into your already-paid membership, I'm not sure how they make it right.  (Account credit, maybe?)

Anyhow, the amount of annoyed I'd be kind of depends on where my package is on day 2.

The only time I've had an issue is when the item is delivered via USPS. I get text updates saying my package was handed over to X company for delivery. Fed Ex and UPS are always delivered within the 2 days. USPS will sometimes take an additional day. Next time it happens, I will say something to Amazon.

If it's on odd occurrence and i'm not needing the item, I generally let it go. In general the service has been good so I don't want to nitpick.

BUT if it's reoccurring or a problem for me, I have no problem complaining either. Last November I think there were several weeks where everything from them was coming late. I have no idea why because it was well before the you'd expect the holiday rush... I did complain, i'd had probably 3 or so packages late in a couple weeks. They apologized and extended my membership a month. Haven't had any issues with them lately.

If it's the first time, I'd probably let it go. I have only had it happen once.

If it keeps happening I'd definitely complain.

The 2 day shipping promise has been a disappointing joke all summer for us.  We were just discussing this.  This was our first year to pay for "prime" and certainly won't re up at the $99 price.  We ordered a lot from amazon this year and seldom was there 2 day shipping.   BUT far more important, we discovered over and over that Amazon was raising the prices.  For instance, the week before we signed up for prime, I bought three of an item for $13 each and got free shipping.  The week after we were signed up for prime, I went to order one more of the same item and suddenly it was $17.49.  Over and over again, we've found that the prime price was more than it should have been.  We now don't trust Amazon.

To me, Prime is really expensive.

It's too expensive to not get what you're paying for.

I would say something each and every time.

I use prime shipping all the time - usually the packages are on my doorstep within 2 days (sometimes one!) the delays are usually because of the shipping company, Amazon gets the package to them in sufficient time for them to deliver it in 2 days, and for whatever reason, the shipper takes another day. Most cases it is the next day, and if it was longer I would complain.

When I figured how many things we order from Amazon and the cost that we would have paid for shipping, we save money with prime. Would we order as often if we paid for shipping, probably not, but it is convenient and I do wait until I have several things in my cart before ordering.

But we use prime for watching movies and tv shows. we dropped our netflix sub because we didn't use it and we actually use the prime movies more than we did netflix.

I would say that about 1 out of 5 times I order Prime eligible items, they don't arrive in two day.  I have never complained, but I am seriously considering not renewing my Prime. 

I would let them know.  They can't find problems in the system if they don't know about it.

I've seen this, too.  I think they are getting more realistic with their shipping timeline.

But this is the way it always is with Amazon.  Put it in your cart and then watch the item.  The price on some items will often fluctuate by the hour.  You can also clear your cookies and sign out of Amazon.  Do your shopping and you can see if you get a different price.  Then sign back in to complete the order.

Amazon definitely wants to know how the shipping was when it comes from a 3rd party and not Amazon. If this was coming from a 3rd party, I'd give them feedback when they ask if it did not arrive by the estimated shipping date on your e-mailed receipt.

This is when I see late packages, too. If a company tells Amazon that they will do two day shipping, they better do two day shipping. Sometimes I need the item right away, sometimes I don't. But I need that information to know if I should order or not. But then, there is the packages that come in a day. Those guys are the overachievers!

My experience has been that the rare times it happens, it always happens with FED EX.  

If the package was delivered on day 3 at least and it wasn't an ongoing problem (frequent occurence), I'd let it go.  99% of my 2-day Prime packages have arrived on time so I haven't had to complain.

For the most part, I get my shipments by the expected delivery date and sometimes sooner. There have been several times I received orders the next day. So If it only happened once in a great while I would let it slide.

I wish they would separate the shipping from the other Prime benefits. My tv watching is about 75% prime streaming.

I'm another that doesn't get her items within 2 days. Books usually come that fast, but nothing else. I ordered something I needed that I can't get locally (specialized pet food), and paid the extra for overnight. Didn't come for 3 days. When I complained, they re-shipped the item, but it was still a few days before it got here. All they did was refund the $3.99 I paid for next day shipping. I ended up driving to a city 90 minutes away to get it because it was something I had to have. I was cursing Amazon all the way. Lol!

I have complained before about the slow shipping, but was given the same line about it being delivered to post office or fed-ex within 2 days. I've never been offered an extension of my prime membership.

I've been taking them up on the $1 credit for books or movies for slower shipping. It gets to my house about the same amount of time. But I no longer group orders together. I check out each item individually to get the most credits.

I also make sure I don't check the prime only option box while shopping. Frequently I can get the same item with shipping costs added cheaper than prime with 'free' shipping. And once again, if I'm not getting the items within 2 days, it's not worth paying for the non-existent benefit.

The only reason I still shop Amazon frequently is because the convenience. I'd much rather order something at midnight in my pjs while watching Doctor Who instead of driving into town to hit Target. I also find that I spend less on-line because I tend to get what I need only. But I can't seem to get out of Target without spending $100.

You paid for a service. The service wasn't fulfilled. Amazon needs to know.
