I have always wanted to try it, but it's expensive, so I haven't tried it yet. But really considering buying it to get my feet ready for flip flops!
If you tried it, do you have any tips? I believe I was reading something about it years ago, and people had some tips beyond following the directions on the package.

I haven't but I know several who have. It does work. It's gross and I really should have done it a month ago. You do not want to wear shoes that show your feet while this stuff does it's magic. I think it takes around a week and a half to 2 weeks to be totally done.
Tips: I'll add as I find out but I do know it was suggested to wear socks in bed at night. Helps keep the skin all in one place. Not all in your bed.

I used it and I thought nothing was going to happen because it took a full week before any peeling started. Unfortunately, I did it like a week and two days before a trip, and my feet didn't look great during that trip. Once my feet finally started shedding, it was almost another week before they were done. So, for me, I'd do it two full weeks before any event/travel.
Soaking your feet beforehand makes it work better.

It works. You have got to soak your feet for 30 minutes, and pat dry and then put on the booties. Also soaking your feet for the following 3 days or so for 30 minutes also really helps with results. Its gross, but in the best way possible! lol It's not that expensive for how long it lasts. $25 and you can use a coupon at Ulta.

I used this version from Amazon: foot maskIt was impressive. I had several scars on my feet that were "erased". Pets really hate the smell of the booties -- probably something that is aversive or toxic to them in the booties. |

It works and works well. Be prepared for two weeks worth of peeling. You will have to wear socks and vacuum/weep relentlessly but it works really well.
I never soak my feet but will put the booties on right after a shower or bath (which probably counts for soaking).

Do soak your feet really well before using the booties. At least 30 minutes. I take a long hot bath. Use a little pumice stone on them and then put the booties on for an hour - don't shorten that. I put a thick pair of socks over them, but you will still have trouble walking -so plan some down time.
Then it will be several days to a week before it peels - soaks help.
If its the first time, and you have a lot of thick calluses - you're going to freak out! LOL It comes off in sheets and gobs, but your feet will be smooth and soft!

After reading reviews and questions, I purchased another brand and have used it several times. My concern with the Baby Foot was the size of the booties - I wear a size 12 shoe and needed one with large enough booties to fit without tearing.
Soak first. Then sit with your feet flat on the floor while wearing the booties - if you lie down and have your feet up, the solution will settle in the heels of the booties and won’t work on your whole foot.
The directions on the brand I got said to soak for 10 minutes or so each day afterward. I try to do that and it seems to help.
The first time I used it, it took almost a week for the peeling to start and I had been thinking it wasn’t going to work. So be patient. It does take about a week for the peeling process once it starts.

I haven't, but I'm trying a home version I found online using asprin and lemon juice (because I am WAY too cheap to buy that baby foot stuff). DIY Foot PeelSupposedly I'll start to see results in 5 days - tonight is day 3. I'll try to remember to report back here in a few days if it works. Just the soaking and moisturizing alone have already improved the condition of my feet though, so even if my feet don't peel, I won't be mad about the 2.99 I "wasted" on aspirin and lemons. |

I think because the plastic plus the moisture makes your feet slip around in the booties? At least that's been my experience with the plastic wrap in the DIY version. |

I did it last year and just did it again Sunday night. I read a tip to use one bootie for both feet, so I did that. It takes more time (one hour per foot) but then you get two uses out of the package. IIRC, I also soaked my feet daily in the shower (just plug the drain when the water is running), as that was suggested here or in the product reviews. I think my feet peeled for about a week. Best to do it now while you aren't wearing sandals yet (or at least we aren't yet in MN).

I have used Baby Foot, a Japanese brand that was much less expensive,(TONYMOLY) and the home version. The purchased versions were much, much better in my opinion.
You don't think they are working unless you wear socks. Holy cow. I washed a pair of socks and went to put them in the drawers and it looked like snow flakes coming out of the socks. Gross and yet so satisfying.
The Baby Foot version is really slippery. Plant yourself after you put the booties on. The Japanese brand (on Amazon) didn't come pre lubricated. You put the booties on and then pure in the liquid. It wasn't as slippery, but both of them kept my heels pretty soft for about 6 weeks. Much cheaper and longer lasting than a pedicure.

I did it and it took 2 weeks to really start working. Then another week to fully shed (shudder). My feet did best when I soaked them for 20 minutes a day once the peeling started.

I generally just stay sitting while I have it on, but I also put a sock over the plastic bootie to keep it in place and allow for walking if needed.

I used the baby foot version and some other version I got from amazon that was cheaper. I should probably get some more.
Definitely soak your feet before and on the days after the treatment. I thought it didn’t work at first because I only soaked before. Nothing happened for a while. Then I took a bath one day and basically degloved my feet. It was horrifying and gratifying. My feet were so soft after. I didn’t notice a big difference between brands. Soaking the days after I did the treatment seemed to make them peel more, but not all at once.
DH wouldn’t let me be around him with bare feet while they peeled. He said he didn’t want to catch leprosy or grayscale or whatever zombie disease I had. I’m going to try to talk him into doing it with me this time. His feet are hella rough. I don’t know if he can handle seeing his foot skin slough off like that though.

I am sad and extremely jealous, reading everybody’s results. I bought my first package of Baby Foot from Amazon. Followed all the extra advice everyone gave in the reviews. Soaked beforehand, left booties on longer than the directions said, soaked my feet every day for a week afterward. Nothing. Really.  . I thought maybe I got a counterfeit package or something, so I bought the second package at the plastic surgeon’s office, and did all the extra stuff again. There may have been a tiny bit of shedding on the tops of my feet, but all dead heel skin and calluses were perfectly intact. I guess I either have superpowers or brontosaurus feet. |

I want to give them a try, but with my hot flashes I'm not sure I could sleep with socks on and I'm a bit nervous about the idea of waking up and finding a replica of my foot between my sheets. |

I thought there was a thread about foot exfoliant once and someone mentioned it helped with their toenails as well. Thought I bookmarked it, but I guess I didn't. Was it you? I always think of that because I think my toenails need help too! So I guess I should remove nail polish on my toes first? |

If you haven't tried it yet, find some Flexitol Heel Balm. Link is to Walgreens, it's cheaper at Amazon, and I got a smaller (2oz) size at WalMart to try it out for about $5. I was at the dermatologist in February and asked about my feet. I have a couple of good calluses but the heels were all weird, and I'd read somewhere a long time ago something about "maybe it's not dry skin, maybe it's a fungal infection," so I wanted to check in case I needed to be putting some Tinactin on it. But she said it was just dry skin and recommended that I find something with urea. Now, what she actually said was "40% urea, you can get it on Amazon." But all of the options were kind of pricey, and I'm tired of spending money on stuff my derm suggests that doesn't really work. I remembered the peas talking about Flexitol, and it turns out that it has 25% urea, so I thought, well, I will start with that because it's cheaper and see if it even kind of works, and then I'll get the 40% urea product if it's promising. (Derm explained that urea breaks down keratin, which is what all that dry skin build up is.) I followed the instructions on the flexitol for like three days (use it twice a day) and my heels were noticeably improved. Do I have the smooth skin of someone who successfully did a baby foot peel? Nooooo. But my heels at least look reasonably normal. If I stuck with it for longer than three days, they might even look better. LOL. (I don't like how it smells, and it's pretty thick, so even rubbed in, and even when I put fuzzy socks on it, it kind of transfers to my hands and carpet, and then I catch a whiff of it now and then.) But I might make sure I use it for a week or two before vacation, because I know I'll want to go sockless. Anyway, even with my not-very-dedicated use of it, it seemed to help, so for $5, I'd recommend trying it out. |
