Who has been watching Jeopardy the past couple of weeks?
I watch every day and the current champ James Holzhauer (a professional sports gambler) seems unstoppable. He answers almost every question and the other 2 players practically stand there the entire game.
He is already the 2nd highest winner in the history of Jeopardy and he has done it much faster than Ken Jennings did. In the first 4 days, he answered 133 questions and only guessed wrong on 4 of them.
My friends and I were discussing him at lunch...he just seems unbeatable. We wonder if he has eidetic memory.
I wonder if Jeopardy has a limit on how long you can be on or a limit as to how much you can win. They've never had to worry about that too much (except when Ken Jennings was on) but this Holzhauer just blows everyone out of the water. Each game will go into Final Jeopardy having something like $75,000 and the other 2 people will have about $3,000.
Have you been watching? Do you think he could have an eidetic memory?

He is amazing. I have been watching him and he is a force that seems unstoppable. I think he knows a lot and is willing to risk it on the Daily Doubles!

I’ve got the last two episodes and he does seem unstoppable. Makes you feel sorry for the other contest.

My husband and I watch Jeopardy each evening and this guy is truly amazing. It's to the point now that I'll be disappointed when he finally does lose or should I say "if". We've wondered also if there is a point where they will cut him off.

We've been watching since his first win - WOW! He's making us want to watch Jeopardy! Can't wait to see what he can do that day - and he only seems to get stronger. Today's result was UNREAL. We really like him!

He’s definitely brilliant and has the buzzer down ! I think the difference between him and other winners is his profession; he’s a professional gambler and likes big risks.
As an example, in final jeopardy today he had $70,000+ while the other contestants had $3-5,000 (I don’t remember the exact figures). He bet $60,000 !!! I think most other winners/contestants would have bet nothing and been thrilled to win $70,000+. He likes to “push” his bets to the limit which is a gambler trait. To me, he has no respect for money or his winnings.
I don’t think the producers will ever have a “professional gambler” again.

At this pace he could break Ken Jennings record in 30-40 days; it took Ken 70+ days to amass his fortune ($2+ million).

I never miss Jeopardy and that guy is amazing! I had to laugh when Alex asked him if he learned in school he said he hated school.

I don't watch Jeopardy regularly (don't know why because I really like it), but will start watching tonight.

I watch from time to time and happened to see the episode which was his first. I knew I had to set the DVR after that. I can't believe the breadth of his knowledge. And his professional gambling gig makes him have no problem going all in and going after the top value questions first. I'm gonna keep watching while he plays, for sure!

He really is something else! By the first commercial break he will have as much as many people win the entire game with. The combination of his knowledge and strategy make him fascinating to watch.
I can see him easily going to 1 million. I wonder if there is a limit? It almost doesn’t seem fair.
With that memory, I’ll bet he’s banned from casinos.

We have a pea who played against Ken Jennings.
I wonder, at some point don’t people get tired of watching the same person win game after game after game?

I can't watch him. He takes all the fun out of it for me. It's like he's on a search and destroy mission. And I hate runaway final jeopardy.

We watched a few episodes. There is something insincere or forced about his smile. A couple of big wins is impressive. At this point, I am bored with him and hope they end his run soon.

Think we saw him earlier this week but haven't watched since. I guess we thought all Jeopardy contestants are like this But seriously folks.. eidetic? Not likely. Most likely more like mnemonic is that a word. I do not quite remember the word for someone with a professionally trained memory. In any case, good for him. He knows how to play the game Layce

I'm ready for him to lose. For me, it takes the fun out of the game when final is such a blowout. He is very impressive, but I just don't like him enough to root for him to break anymore records.

I can answer 3/4 of all the questions and even questions that I actually have no clue that I know.
It is part eidetic memory, but mostly remembering answers from previous games. Jeopardy uses a lot of the same questions over and over. For president questions, usually Harding, Taft or Roosevelt will be one answers. Washington rarely shows up.
Austria comes up a lot. Baltic states too.
Dicken’s works And Macbeth Sir Walter Scott and Robert burns seem to favorites along with Langston Hughs
For me having older parents and living in a very old pre- revolutionary Town helps a lot The rest is a complete mystery.

I get bored and stop watching when someone wins this much. I do appreciate his high wagers, not enough people do that.
And his smile is weird.

Maybe his teeth? It appears that his jaw protrudes on the bottom more then the top based on the little I saw tonight. He smiled more naturally while talking to Alex during the credits.

I feel for his opponents, all of whom are probably very knowledgable, who come on the show as a culmination of years of work, only to be crushed and made to look incompetant.

He seems very nice and a bit humble, quite unlike Buzzy and Austin, whom I both adore. I like the way he wishes friends and family Happy Birthday. He is fast on the buzzer and quite ruthless in his focus. I like his smile, he reminds me of someone I know, I just can't recall who.

I'm enjoying it.. I only usually catch it once and awhile.. I have now watched the last 3 episodes. I don't know much about him, except now what I have read here. I didn't realize he was a professional gambler. I almost thought he might be somewhat autistic.. he seemed so focused or something.. like not really wanting to talk or make small talk. But damn he is so fast.. He has it down. I saw Alex made another video on his health and filming the last episode. I wonder if James will make it to the end of the season. (I'm not sure how many episodes they film ahead of time).. But I do find him memorizing.
OH ONE cool fact. He got an answer wrong and I got it right.. I am an absolute idiot when it comes to this game.. I never get any right (I'm more of a Wheel of Fortune player..lol).. But I was like GIVE ME THE MONEY.. WHOOT WHOOT.. I am Soooo smart.. haha.. I don't remember the question, but he answered What is Moose and the correct answer was Elk. HAHAHAHA... I felt so smart for 1.4 seconds.

New episodes of Jeopardy usually run thru the end of July. So considering Alex’s announcement this week of this season’s filming being concluded, I’m guessing 3 months in advance.
Somewhere this week I thought I saw that this week’s episodes were filmed in February.
Maybe this season will end in June to give Alex more of a break. Dying to know if Holzhauer made it to the end of this season !!

This commercial cracks me up every single time. It pretty much is the exact same thing as what's going on with James Holzhauer.

Over $1 Million now in only 14 games - he has a 97% accuracy rate at getting the right responses - amazing. Jeopardy has now started the JAMES TRACKER
