Just wondering if there is any information (or rumors) about a new Silhouette Cameo being released this year? I need to replace my Cameo but don't want to do that right now if there is a new Cameo coming this summer or fall.

I believe new products are usually announced at the annual Silhouette summit which is usually held in May, so you are likely to hear something shortly.

It has more power and pressure, so it can cut heavier materials. It has a roller blade and an exacto blade, like the Cricut Maker, for cutting fabric and for balsa wood. It can cut longer lengths than the Maker.
It's a machine to compete with Cricut Maker, but with far better software!

Wow, looks like I better hurry and wear my current Cameo (1? 2?) out. Ha ha!!
What I find interesting is that I purchased a Bosskut Gazelle years ago, and it had enough cutting force to cut wood, leather, etc (but the program was a nightmare to use). The Silhouette is a much easier machine to use, but it seems they are just now "catching up" to some of the older machines as far as cutting force.

It looks awesome! I will definitely be getting the Cameo 4. Upgrading my original Cameo to the Cameo 3 was a big disappointment so I’ll probably wait until I hear user reviews before jumping in, but I can definitely see this in my future!

I don't need to cut heavier materials so will be sticking with my Cameo 2 for now, but it's good to see they are continuing to develop the Cameo.

I'm still using (intending to use at some point would be more accurate) my original Cameo. Maybe if I start using it more, the 4 would make a good upgrade.

I have an original but the 4 looks great. I’m definitely considering an upgrade!

Did you see it said something about voice commands? I am wondering what that means.

I have a 3 (I think a 3? It has autoblade so I think thats the one). Anyway, I can see where I will want a 4 but will wait to see what the reviews are first.

Voice commands could be entertaining. “God damnit, I didn’t want to ungroup everything. Stop that! Move the words together, not just the freaking T.”
These are some nice upgrades, but nothing I need I am happy with paper and vinyl cutting.

If the 20" has the same cutting force and upgrades as the 12" I may be holding out for that one.

Well $600 converts to an eye watering NZD$1000.

There aren't any rolls of 20" vinyl available either... maybe the market will support that when they release it...

That might only be on the Silhouette Cameo 4 12" though... that machine is going to be style more like the Cricut Maker, and have craft blade and rotary blades available. The bigger ones won't.. but they are all in the prototype stage yet, so nothing is firm on that Edited - sounds like the bigger ones will have that deeper cutting force! Wow! They are still in the prototype/design phase and things can still change.

Sounds great ... would love it if they would announce a new portrait? I don't think anything is on the slate for that. The new Portrait 2 was just last year, and they didn't have anything at the Summit for the Portait.

There aren't any rolls of 20" vinyl available either... maybe the market will support that when they release it... Sure there is. Just not at the big box stores. But you can buy it online. In the early days when you wanted more choices, you had to buy wider vinyl and cut it down. The advent of the Cricut and Silhouette products brought 12" vinyl to the mainstream audience. That's a pricey machine. I see that Melissa is saying to buy a Cameo 3 now if you don't want the new features. The new machines will be in limited supply this fall and not everyone needs the pricey upgrades. I'm still working with my Cameo 2 and it's going strong. But I'm tempted to upgrade to the Cameo 3!
