I initially wanted just a papered feature wall and the rest painted grey but the texture is much softer and more interesting. It's gorgeous! When we did our master bedroom, I initially wanted to paint the walls navy, but the designer suggested a navy grasscloth. You are right in that it adds more interest. I've also discovered that it is much more durable than a colored paint. I don't miss doing all those little touchups that colored paint lends itself to (sewing room, I'm talking about you!)

Thank you! Navy grass cloth sounds lovely and I’d forgotten there could be retouching needed. Glad I missed that! For the past 6 years there’s either been a baby’s cot or a play house in there and to have been able to reclaim the room is an absolute joy!

disneypal , your shawl is beautiful! candleangie , I love the guitar case. Nice work on the cording! **GypsyGirl**, I love that blue and yellow quilt especially! Looks a bit like the Swedish(?) flag, if it were not 90 o angles on the cross.

**GypsyGirl**, I love that blue and yellow quilt especially! Looks a bit like the Swedish(?) flag, if it were not 90 o angles on the cross. The pattern is a Wonky Cross. It's different shades of gray, but for some reason they read more blue on screen. Just back from the quilt shop. Picked an amazing fabric for the star quilt backing, as well as some great quilting designs. Can't wait to see them. An unexpected bonus to the trip was that my Stars & Stripes quilt was just finished yesterday! I just need to sew down the binding and then I'll share some photos. Because I am trying to finish up many quilts this year, I have them quilt, square up the quilts and sew on my binding. I just whip it down while I watch tv. It's a huge time saver for me for a minimal extra cost. I'm very happy with this finished quilt.

I've started this shawl, it's by Lisa Cook and it's the Earl Grey shawl. I haven't crocheted in quite a while and I feel a bit rusty!

Made this embroidery for a friend who’s into planting flowers this year. I also bought a copy of the book “Cut Flower Garden” for her. I subscribed to the May “Crafter’s Box” so i fiddled around with Linotype printing for the first time. I finished and printed my first block. I’ll share some pics when/if I get better at it. There is an art to carving those blocks. Hoping to finish up a couple of embroidery projects that I thought I’d finish last month....the best laid plans.....sigh

I’m trying to post a picture when I tried it and it it says that my file is too big how do I make it smaller ? I email the file to myself and pick one of the smaller sizes when sending. Then save it from the email and post it.

Just in time for Flag Day tomorrow, the Stars & Stripes quilt is finished! Got the binding sewn down just in time to get some photos outside. It's a great size for snuggling while watching tv.

I decided today would be a ‘Finishing Friday’ to get several things done ready to post home to my sons and DiL. So here goes: A couple of little hats for my granddaughter. Socks for her mum And socks for my son ( not DGD’s dad; the other one!)

sueg - What a great day - Finish Friday! I need more than one day to finish all my projects - haha - love your hats and socks! I heard it used on a podcast one time, and it came to mind this morning, when I wanted to start something new, despite having all these projects that seriously just needed ends weaving in. If you need more than one day to finish everything, maybe just decide to work on finishing one day a week - eventually, it will add up and things will be done.

finsup your blanket is exquisite.
I decided to follow the chart for my shawl instead of the written instructions, why did I do that?

I'm working on some yard art. This is the first phase (plaster of paris). This weekend, I'm doing silicone molds of these "masters" and then I'll be (hopefully) casting them in concrete.
