I just started watching Season 3 this weekend, I'm on episode 6 and the most exciting thing for me so far is seeing Law and Order SVU's Christopher Meloni on as the Washington DC commander!

I think the surviving handmaids and marthas will quietly slip back into the households while any killed in that battle with the security guard and Rita can be seen as the scapegoats for the whole thing. Although I'm not sure how they will explain away June's gunshot wound.

Yes, but the Martha's kids are gone...so how do they explain that?

Yes, but the Martha's kids are gone...so how do they explain that? Exactly. After I watched the episode again (with closed captions) it looked to me like the women left in the woods after the plane left, the ones who gathered around the fallen June and carried her through the woods, were all handmaidens. What happened to the Marthas? Did they all get on the plane and make it to Canada? I think I saw a Martha or two in the bunch that threw the stones at the security soldier at the airport but maybe I'm mistaken. Am I going to have to watch this a third time? I don't think my hearing is going but sometimes I hear words mumbled, or don't quite catch them. That's why I like watching certain shows with the closed captioning on. This time I didn't hear June saying anything about Hannah's death like I thought she did the first viewing when I didn't have the closed captioning on. I figured out I must have been really tired the first time I watched this episode and fell asleep a couple of different times. I remember now the reason Hannah didn't make the flight is because she's in a different district and June hasn't been able to find out where she is. I don't think handmaidens can simply slip back into the homes they're associated with. They've been gone overnight and as far as I can guess this absence won't be able to be explained away-look how very tightly every minute of their lives are regulated, how they can't go anywhere alone. Plus they need to get June's gunshot wound treated. Hopefully one of the handmaidens is a former nurse or doctor-even a veterinarian. That would really help! They'd have to steal supplies but having the knowledge among themselves as to how to treat June would be fantastic. I'm hoping they form a resistance group adding others to their number and start taking down the powers that rule Gilead along with Canada. We'll have a year to figure out for ourselves where we think season 4 will go. It'll be fun to see what we come up with. I'm really looking forward to the publish day for Margaret Atwood's "Testaments" which will be on September 10. It takes up right where the first novel "The Handmaid's Tale" ends. Or season 1. I just decided to reread "The Handmaid's Tale" this week to get ready for it since right now my mind is filled with season 3.

Although I'm not sure how they will explain away June's gunshot wound. That’s what I thought at first, but too many kids are gone. Too many Marthas and Handmaids involved. It will be interesting to see how it gets written. I haven’t a clue!

Agree. Yes, it looked like all that stayed were handmaids. I saw Martha's throwing stones too, but ya know how that goes. If they take her back to Commander what's his names house, he will be able to help her cover it up. I'm not sure they can get rid of any more handmaids can they? I mean..the population of them is decreasing daily.

Remember the doctor who offered to impregnate June? Maybe he'll fix her up.

I just binged watched the first 5 episodes last night. Glad I read a few spoilers because I don't have time to keep watching, or staying up all night to watch. Too many seasons starting this week!!!
Why did June think that the Martha had something to do with the McKenzie family leaving?

Ok I am way behind in watching this last season (3), but have just finished and I have to get some things off my chest, lol!
- why the heck did they feel the need to keep showing June glare with her angry/determined glare into the camera. So lame, especially after the 200th time.
- I don’t know why, but I was surprised Aunt Lydia survived!
- Someone in this thread mentioned that June thought the Martha was responsible for Hannah’s family moving, but I don’t understand why she would think that?!
- I really, really wish Jeanine would have been able to get out of Gilead. I love her and want her to have a happy ending. Loved how June told her Caleb was in Ca, and that she did not tell her he died.
- June beating up the commander aka handsome Chris Meloni - whoah! I love him but his character was a big time jerk!
- I wanted more scenes with Nick, but I can understand why it wasn’t really necessary.
This season was quite boring overall, in my opinion.

Did anyone watch the episode that was released yesterday? 7/17? **spoilers** I found it boring. I understand Lydia was punishing June for her recent bad behavior by forcing her to sit and pray for her walking partner for months on end, but sheesh... the episode felt like it lasted for months. I am late to the party watching this series (just finished binge watching last night, since we recently got Hulu)...but I honestly felt like this too.

Just realizing that I've all but forgotten everything about the plot. All I remember is that by the final episodes I was totally bored with this series. It plodded along too slow towards the end, nothing ever resolved and nothing major happening to steer the storyline along.

You really threw me for a loop today when I saw this thread pop-up and thought it was a new thread. All I saw was "The Handmaid's Tale" is streaming SPOILERS and my heart skipped a beat. For a several seconds I thought it meant season 4. My mistake for not catching the Season 3 which was right there front and center.
