I am having so much trouble finding a sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast all over my face (and body). I feel like it's all rubbed in, but then my family constantly gives me a hard time about the white cast all over my face. I haven't worn sunscreen much because I am too embarrassed of what I look like. I always try to use the for faces sunscreen for my face, maybe that's the problem? There must be something out there that works. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated. We would love to go to the beach, and I don't want to spend the week in the condo.
Also, is there anything fragrance free? For some reason, the sunscreen really bothers my eyes! Crazy, I know!

I LOVE this one. It is tinted to get rid of the white cast, but not like full coverage like foundation or anything. It sits well under IT CC cream, and by reviews, other makeup too. Hot and Flashy on Youtube recommended it for the last couple of years. Australian Gold
ETA: The one above is for your face. It has a smell, but not heavy fragrance, that goes away quickly as it dries. There is one also that is not tinted, for the body. I use it on my arms. I do not get the white cast from it, but I am fairly light skinned. Reviews are mixed for olive skin and darker. It also is fragranced and the smell lasts for a while. I do not use it on my face.

The white cast typically comes from physical sunscreens (zinc oxide/titanium dioxide) - try a chemical sunscreen. My favourite is La Roche Posay Helios.

Check out Neutrogena face sunscreens, as well as Supergoop!. I've had good luck with both as fas as unscented.

I have an ulta giftcard from Christmas and I believe Ulta carries this brand. Maybe I need to use tinted for body sunscreen too.

Check out Neutrogena face sunscreens, as well as Supergoop!. I've had good luck with both as fas as unscented. About 15 yrs. ago Neutrogena had a gel sunscreen that was amazing! I would wear it and didn't feel "gross" from wearing sunscreen. Then they stopped making this. Where do you find Supergoop?

maryland I just ETA to my original while you were posting, LOL. I use the tinted only on my face. I think the color would come off on clothes and towels if you put it on your arms. There is one for body that is not tinted that I use on my arms. I do not have a problem with white cast from it, but I am fairly light skinned. Australian Golds are mineral/physical sunscreens.

Where do you find Supergoop? Just google and you will see lots of options. They have their own website, Sephora & Nordstrom sell it, along with Amazon.

I wear sunscreen daily. For my face I like CeraVe AM. If I’m out swimming or being more active, I still use the CeraVe in the morning but also use a Neutrogena face sunscreen over the top.
If I’m wearing make up, I touch up my sunscreen with Colorscience powder sunscreen.

Check out Neutrogena face sunscreens, as well as Supergoop!. I've had good luck with both as fas as unscented. My son has very sensitive skin and we use Neutrogena face and body. I use it as well. Once summer he had a very bad chemical/dry skin burn and now we only use this. I've never used it under makeup, only at the pool.

I'm sensitive and allergic like you are, so I normally just use my moisturizer (it has 30 spf), and I don't get burned. I did just get 50 spf sunscreen just for faces, for DH. The sun has been so strong that he's been getting red. I'll let you know if it's decent. The name is Aveeno Positively Mineral for sensitive skin (for face).

I use the Australian Gold linked above on my face/neck everyday - I prefer a physical sunscreen to a chemical one. It is a little less expensive if you order it from Amazon link

Another Neutrogena user here. It doesn’t feel greasy, easy to apply and my ridiculously sensitive skin likes it. It also gets great ratings for actual protection.

I use this Murad sunscreen/primer as my primer whenever I'm going to be outside or even in the car a lot during the day. It's clear, so there's no white cast at all. It is expensive, as most Murad products are. It feels really nice on the skin. (I think Sephora might have a travel size.) I love this Tarte powder sunscreen. It's quick and easy to apply. Great for part in your hair if you tend to burn there or your ears, back of neck, etc... I am pale and burn easily, and used this when I walked around all day at the zoo a few weeks ago, and I loved having this in my purse. I haven't tried this Derm-E powder sunscreen, but it looks just like the Tarte one. I usually follow up the Murad SPF primer with a foundation or tinted moisturizer that has SPF also. I use the Tarte powder sunscreen to set my face after I've done whatever makeup I'm wearing that day. I'm going to Vegas next week, I'm counting on those things to save me.

I like farmacy's green screen. Almost no smell, no white cast. Ah, I see according to google/farmacy's website, it's now called "Green defense." I recently got a sample of Coola's sun silk creme, I think from my sephora play box. This one does have a bit of a white cast. However, I was impressed by how very little I could smell-- no sunscreen, no covering fragrance. Nothin'. I'm not sure if it's in Sephora stores yet. But I put some on my hand out of the box and had to immediately buy some because of how actually fragrance free it is. Then, I got a sample of Coola's dawn patrol in my birchbox. That one does have a smell (Ulta calls it cucumber, but I'm not sure about that). However, I didn't find it to be terrible and it didn't last too long. It's a clear primer like sunscreen, like the Murad invisiblur. I like it a lot too... and am resisting the urge to buy a full bottle of that since I have the other one AND a full tube of farmacy. LOL.

I saw on hot and flashy that she stopped using the cerave am because of white cast or it didn't work well for her under makeup (but she still uses cerave pm). Someone commented that cerave has another am with sunscreen that works better, and I found that at the store yesterday. I think I am going to use that as my face sunscreen. When we go to the beach, I will just make sure to reapply often as it's spf 30.

I will try that for body sunscreen! Thanks! I heard that spf 30 feels "better" on that 70. Maybe that's why I get a white cast because I usually use a high spf at the beach. I think I will try lower spf for the beach. We are always under an umbrella, so not much time in the direct sun.

I would love to try a powder sunscreen! I don't use face powder because when I have, I noticed more wrinkles that I thought I had. I will see if ulta has one with a tester so I can try that out first.

Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Daily Moisturizing Lotion spf 30 is my favorite for my face, neck, and chest for beach days. My skin is sensitive to the sun and sensitive to skin care products. Not only did I not burn at all, but I also have had no reactions like bumps or breakouts. It's a mineral sunscreen but the white cast is minimal. Its consistency makes it much easier to rub in than other mineral sunscreens.
