I've never owned a cat, although we do have a neighbor's cat that seems to have adopted me. Other pets I've had are chinchillas, a turtle, rabbit, chickens, dogs, fish (including an eel), and frogs. When DD was living at home, we also had a snake and a tarantula. How many different types of pets have you had?

PS I spotted a box turtle or tortoise on the side of the highway the other morning and I really wanted to go catch him or at least move him somewhere safe but there was no good safe place to turn around, no good place to put him without walking into the weeds and woods, and you're not supposed to take wild animals anyway, and I imagined he was full of salmonella and I was eating my breakfast, etc etc etc.
But I sure wish I had him, from the quick glance I got he was a very handsome specimen.

Dogs Cats Fresh water fish Frogs 2 birds Rabbits Chickens Sheep Goats Steers
And an injured Monarch butterfly that I found on the car grill when I was a teen. Because it couldn't fly, I fed flowers and sugar water from a spoon. It hung on our indoor plants and window screens most of the summer.

As a child we had goldfish, budgie birds, rabbits, dogs. Too many cats to count, it was a farm they disappear.
As a adult, for my kids, we've had cats.

Too many I think . We have had: dog cats ferret turtles hermit crabs guinea pig Hamsters rats cockatiel newt finches parakeets gerbils Fish And honestly, I think we have pet squirrels which we feed by hand at the door and can identify based on their unique markings. My adult son wants us to get a rabbit and my daughter thinks a hedgehog would be divine.. If I could I would have a goat.

Mice, cats, dogs, snakes, bearded dragons, hamster, bird, and a rabbit. I'd love to get a guinea pig and a turtle. Oh, and fish. Are fish pets? I used to have an aquarium.

Betta Fish Puffer Fish-the small kind that live in brackish water. He was named Jiggly-Puff and was so intelligent.Used to follow my finger up and down the tank and would willingly roll into the net whenever I needed to take him out of the tank for cleaning. Other fish we've had in aquariums Cats Dogs Hamsters Pony Horse
I think that's it. I've had cats since I was 8 years old so that makes 51 years of cats.

I have also had a number of ‘pet’ spiders that lived outside my kitchen window. One stayed for quite awhile. Watched her grow from a tiny little thing into a good sized specimen. I would turn the light on that was over the window. It drew her food. When I realized she had gone, I grieved over her.

my brother had a snake growing up. I don't consider that a pet that "I" owned, but it did start my love for rodents...I was always trying to save the snakes food.

Dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, water turtles, African dwarf frogs, red claw crabs, hermit crabs, and a desert tortoise. We kept BIL tarantula for a summer when he was home from college, because MIL wouldn't have it in her house.

When DD was living at home, we also had a snake and a tarantula. How many different types of pets have you had? Wow!! You've had a huge variety!!! Ever since DD was young she wanted pets. So.... we had fish, gerbils, hamsters, dwarf hamsters, rabbits, Guinea pig, dog, cats, turtles, iguana, chinchillas, chameleon... That's it, but it felt like we had a farm at times!! Right now DD31 has 3 cats and I have 2 cats. Ooh, and she has 1 chinchilla in NY (she's too sensitive to move her down here to FL)... Most of the other pets were buried in my backyard and I often wonder if the buyers of my house ever tore up the backyard for projects. They'd probably think that they bought a pet cemetery!! P.S.: The most offensive smelling pets were the turtles, despite my ex constantly cleaning out their semi aquatic tank!! The easiest and least stinky pet were the chinchillas. NO SMELL!!!!

I have had: rabbits chickens budgie cockatoo duck cockatiel dogs
Apart from the rabbits, all of our pets as kids were birds. My dad loved birds and had an aviary with quails and finches. We weren't allowed to get a dog because of the birds.

when we were kids, my sister had two white rabbits. then she traded them for two huge chickens. we also had another chicken when a tenant left the chicken at the house when they moved out. we also had a bird accidentally flew away. i had a pet pig when i was under 5 years old. i want to believe it was a "pet". LOL
since we became adults, we all got our own pets. just dogs.

Not that many.
As a toddler I had a rabbit & a turtle (so I'm told, but I don't really remember them). Then some goldfish. When I was about 8yo, my parents got the first of several dogs over the years (always Yorkshire terriers) Then as an adult in my own home I've always had cats.
