Which smart plugs did you get? I use the VeSync. We have lights, televisions and at Xmas, we put our tree and the outside lights on them. We love them!! We also set up a timer schedule when we are out of town.

I got my mom a new Kindle. I traded in two older versions and ended up with the Kindle Fire 10 for $32! I also got a portable scanner that was a lightning deal for $103 ($75 off), a Revlon Hair Dryer (mentioned on the Beauty thread) and a printer for $19! I still might pick up some of those smart plugs for my Christmas tree. A kindke fire for $32!!! How did you do the trade in? Is there a link for this? I found the Kindle fire but I don't know how to do the trade in. Thanks!

If the kindle is on your account, then near the 'add to cart' button will be a button for 'trade in and save' or something similar. It'll give you a 25% discount on a new one plus a gift card (mine was only $5 since it was so old). I think I ended up paying around $60 with one trade in.

That’s what I decided since I didn’t see a really great deal. Or any deal.

I did find the yonana thing she was talking about but it's not on special for Prime Day. But yep, now I need to investigate making it with a blender. However... the fact that I do not actually *own* a blender (except for an immersion one) could be a problem! So, back to Amazon I go! At least I know a blender will get other uses. lol

Can someone point me in the direction of the best smart bulbs to get? When I look some say they don’t need a hub, but then they say they do in the description. I am looking at Phillips bulbs. So very confusing!

Now I am angry at Amazon. I wanted the white enamel cast iron casserole skillet yesterday. It was $30ish. I put it in my cart at 7:15 am and sat on it too long. When I went back a couple of hours later, the white was sold out. "unknown when/if ever it will be back in stock" was the tag line on the in stock question. Well, lo and behold, it is back in stock today. For $45! I guess I am going to finally have to break down and grab it since it is "in stock" again and at least less that what it normally is. Shaking my fist at Amazon and yelling DAMN YOU!!(you realize this is all in jest, right) well, sort of...

Can someone point me in the direction of the best smart bulbs to get? Personally I'm happy with the Philips Hue range and I've found them to work very well, are easy to set up and integrate easily with the Echo and have so far lasted well. They also have a good native app, can be used away from home, and have other cool things like motion sensors and portable dimmer switches. They need a hub to function whether you have just one light or 50. There are some other wifi bulbs that do not need hubs, LIFX, Yeelight & Sengled are other brands I know of, the descriptions will tell you if they work with smart speakers or not. If you aren't sure or you don't want to commit to a whole system you can buy individual bulbs and just use those. You can also have bulbs from different brands...but you'll also need to get their own apps each time. Also check out the Nanoleaf, they are pretty cool, but they don't do traditional light bulbs. I belong to another tech forum and when I was researching the consensus from all the nerdy computer geeks was that Hue was the way to go, but that was 3 years ago and there weren't as many on the market then, there's more now and some of them are cheaper than Hue and don't need the hub.

Lol and hahahahahahaha at me preparing meals for hundreds. I hate to cook. I don't actually own many appliances -- my Instant Pots, an immersion blender, coffee maker, toaster oven... all get used a LOT. We also own a waffle iron that never gets used so I'm not sure why I keep it around. But that's it. I probably should have a regular blender though, or maybe a small food processor... ? Although up till now when I see a recipe that require one or the other I just find a different recipe. lol. So I guess I don't *really* need either one.

I had my shopping cart full of various items that I placed an order for earlier this morning simply to get the 6% Amazon CC rewards back. In that order is also a new Echo and 2 new Dots to replace my originals. I have several other things on my wishlist that I hope get marked down today or tomorrow. I'm actively looking for highly rated noise canceling headphones. I'm also hoping that the Rowenta standing fan that I got last year on Prime Day goes on sale again. I love it (worth every penny) and would like a second one for upstairs to replace a Holmes brand tower fan that's essentially useless. I think I'm going to order these headphones for my husband. He has a pair of them now, but these have updated noise cancelling or something. He uses his everyday, he listens to music at work pretty much any time he's not in a meeting, so they get a ton of use.

For the person looking for a kayak - not sure if you want a hard sided or inflatable one, but just saw an inflatable one come up for sale. No idea if it’s a good deal though! I have two of the Challenger ones (the bright green and blue.) Both the one seater and the two seater. I LOVE them and one of the best purchases I have ever made. It's more work than a hard side to paddle, but I love how portable and comfortable they are.

He doesn't want inflatable but I'll tell him this anyhow and see what he thinks. I know he was hoping for a hardside one for about $100 now that's he's seen prices he might want to reconsider the inflatable ones

I got a 72 piece set of Bianyo markers (like copic) and 12 piece skin tone set - 72 piece set regular price was $160; I got it for 80% off at $32. The skin tone set normally $40 was 55% off at $18. Had rewards of $7 to apply so got both sets total of 84 markers for $42. Pretty thrilled - can’t afford nor will I pay copic marker prices so happy to get these!!
Also got the complete set of Monk DVDs regular $99 I got them for $30

I’d really like a fishing kayak, but don’t want to have to load it on the top of my SUV. My 60 lb dog and I go fishing all the time in the two person one. We literally spent 6 hours catch and release fishing in it on Sunday. Obviously we have to paddle to get to where we want, and it doesn't have rod holders etc... but as far as chill rod fishing from it in terms of durability (hooks), stability, and storage (space for tackle/cooler) it's perfect for us. If you just want to fish leisurely you can't beat the comfort! But it really is more work to paddle. Especially in a two man kayak where one is man's best friend. It does come with a skeg, but either I am doing something wrong or they suck, because I lost two before I just quit replacing them. There isn't a live well etc... so it's def not comparable to a fancy fishing kayak. If it's just me I'll take the single person one, handles way better, but it feels a little tighter. FWIW mine are 3 and 2 years old, and I use them probably 20-25 times a year, and both have held up very well.

If you don't have a steam release diverter for your Instantpot, I have this one and really like it. It's a Prime deal today.

Since the 1-seater is only $41.99 for the next hour, I decided to go ahead and buy one. I spend more than that on a pair of sandals. Even if it doesn’t work for me as a fishing kayak, I will get $40 worth of enjoyment out of it.
