I’m trying to make space in my scrapping area. I still have to unpack from the crop I went to last Saturday. I went to Michaels today for a storage item and ended up with the WeR word punch board. I used a 55%off coupon from A C Moore. The cashier also gave me the 10% senior discount without me asking...I’m grateful for the discount but a tiny bit hurt that I actually look over 55 🤣🤣🤣

I had to type the words “Frozen Peas” for work today and thought of you all!
I’m determined this weekend to actually do some crafting instead of just thinking about it. I’m all out of birthday cards and hate throwing one together at the last minute, so hoping to get some made.

I think I'm going to go to my first ever crop next month. I've never gone to one before, I don't know any of the ladies who will be there, and I don't think any of the other ladies are around my age, though that doesn't bother me. But I'm nervous! I have anxiety issues so I think too much about "will they like me? Is my crafting good enough to work on around seasoned croppers? Will I have a good time?" It's only $40 for a 12 hour crop, no frills, so lunch is up to us to either bring or order. Just have to get up the nerve to book a spot! Anyone have advice? Do it! I find most scrappers are very friendly. Don't bring your kids, your dog, criticize other's work, or microwave fish and you'll be fine, LOL. Wait, what? Someone brought their dog to a crop? Service dog?

Was killing time in WM today waiting for my photos to print and I noticed that they are starting to add stuff to their scrapbook aisle: it has been dwindling for the past year or so. They had some nice chunky letter dies--which I almost bought but didn't--and some Minc stuff.
I picked up a bottle of the reactive mist, brought it home and spritzed it on a couple of backgrounds I want to use tomorrow. It is really thick and goopy. Hope it dries overnight so I can run the pages through the Minc with some foil. Can't wait to see what it looks like!

Have you seen them with the strollers for their dog yet?? I've seen 2 so far. One was a big stroller and one was a smaller one. They weren't at crops just out in various places. I just searched and there are so many dog strollers out there. One was like this. Her dog looked really old so I kind of got it. But man did my eyes pop out at first.
I’m grateful for the discount but a tiny bit hurt that I actually look over 55 My DH at 45 got a senior discount at a local grocery. The first time he was quite upset. (He started going gray in his late 20's so I thought maybe it was because he was mostly white/gray then) Didn't stop me from saying "10% off, you're going to the store for me every Wednesday (their senior discount day) from now on!" Turns out they give everyone the senior day discount on Wednesday.

No strollers here, but if you show up on our yard you *might* find our collie riding on a tractor, a golf cart or a quad with dh... (Fortunately they have never shown up at a crop, though)

LisaDV My niece has a stroller for her dog. At first I thought it was ridiculous, but now the dog has a torn ligament, so I am more understanding, lol.

I've seen people wear backpacks with their dogs in them, like bags specially made to carry pets, but in my city you need to carry your dog in a bag or carrier if you're taking them onto the subway so it makes sense.

My mom has a stroller for her dog! It is a 2 pound chihuahua and it is very old, but my mom likes to walk and the dog gets tired after a block or so, so she got it a stroller, hilarious!

Yesterday I pulled out my current "Birthday" bin in prep to make cards with justjac. Then I remembered a drawer from one of my old rolling carts that I had salvaged years ago during my room reno. That drawer has been living on top of the top shelving unit for years LOL. I pulled it down and used some of the rediscovered stickers and other pieces on my cards yesterday. Then today, I dug some paper out of the bottom of that drawer that worked perfectly with the photos my ddil sent me last week of dgs's 6th birthday. The paper is as old as the kid! I KNEW there was a reason I never throw anything away !

I’ve been scrapping a little more lately which I’m happy about. I have a drs appointment next week which means a long awaited trip to Tuesday Morning 🤗 I haven’t been since March. I hope I can contain myself 😬. I broke out my old trusty Cuttlebug and am having fun with that. One of my plates broke in half oh about 10 years ago 😂 so I’m going to finally replace it. Works fine but I have some longer dies now and need the full size. I made my own tn insert and did my first little layout. I thought it’d be fun for some mini albums or something of sorts. Does anyone do travelers notebooks? I’d like to find a video of one showing all the pages in the tn, but not sure who to look up on youtube. It’s a great way to use up my scraps. Im in the RTS Scrapbook group on fb. There’s a lot of discussion after Janet’s video on base pages. I have a basket of scraps that I could easily use for base pages. I usually match photos to paper, but I have a ton of photos to scrap and this may help me speed up. I’m just glad that I’m starting to finally feel better, I’ve had stomach issues for a while and just found out I’m allergic to wheat so hopefully the new diet will get me back to where I want to be. Now I just need a maid so I can spend more time in the scrap room. Happy scrapping everyone 🙂

Yesterday I finished 2 birthday layout pages.
I currently have another set of birthday photos on my desk, waiting on me. I'm hoping I feel the mojo to work on them today.

Love it when I can do several projects in one theme. Yesterday I used the stuff I had pulled out for birthday cards to make a birthday LO. This morning i I want to go back to my camping papers. Hope to use KikiPea’s August sketch &/or scraplift today.

Trip photos are my favorite photos to scrap. It's like visiting all over again. 😀 I heard a good quote about traveling that sums this up... it was something like "the two best parts about travel are the anticipation and the recollection." (I don't quite agree, because being ON the trip is also fun- unless you have problems, lol- but scrapbooking is a GREAT way to sort of 'relive' a trip or a happy memory, isn't it? I'm going to a 12-hour crop at my CM consultant's house on Saturday, and I haven't planned a THING to do. I'm not going to stress about it though (deep breaths, lol); I'm going to take a few page kits--I'm NOT going to take ALL my stuff with me this time!! And even if I don't have photos ready, I'm still going to have a good time just socializing.

I'm going to a 12-hour crop at my CM consultant's house on Saturday, Ok, honest opinion time. As in, give me your honest opinion. I get invited to these CM crops all the time as one of my besties has a bestie that is a CM rep. I have all my own stuff, I don't use CM stuff. I bring my own food as I am a strict vegetarian and the lady (CM rep) doesn't accommodate for dietary preferences/issues. So for a 12 hour crop it is 40 dollars. You get 1) use of CM tools, 2) half of a 6 foot table, 3) continental breakfast (storebought muffins and juice) 4) cold cut sandwiches and chips for lunch and 5) some sort of goulash/meatloaf type thing for dinner. Last time I paid the 40 bucks and brought all my own food. I did ask if there was any sort of discount for doing this, as I literally had chips and a bun from her food, and she said no. She said in order to do the event she has to have a commitment of 40 dollars from each person. I feel like I could have had 40 dollars to spend at TM. I certainly don't expect her to cater to me, but if she is not going to provide a meatless option (what she said was that since I am the only vegetarian it did not make sense to leave out the meat and she needed to cook what was easiest, so that is why she did a baked stroganoff thing) why should I be expected to pay for the food? Guess I am just interested in others opinions. I do really like the ladies who go to the crop.

My honest opinion? That sounds crazy!
My CM rep's 12 hour crop is $25... she'll probably have snacks and lunch or dinner, and I don't have dietary restrictions. I think last time, we did a make-and-take (layout with CM papers) and also made a card or two. I didn't necessarily like the layout, so I just kept the papers to do my own thing with them later. Her crop runs from 10 am till 10 pm, I think- I don't remember what we did for lunch/dinner (we probably got sandwiches delivered?); I just remember that there were snacks. She has a pretty big work space in her family room, but yeah, it's not a 6-ft table to myself. I do use certain CM tools, and will sometimes buy selected CM papers and stickers (strap-hinge albums = yuck!), so I'll use her tools and/or maybe buy a new punch, etc.
In your shoes, I would ALSO rather have the $40 to spend at TM. The crop cost of $40 per person HAS to partially to cover the food costs. I think it would be perfectly reasonable for her to reduce your price because you're not eating the food.
My CM rep's weekend HOTEL CROP is only $140 for 3 days of 24-hour access, an entire 6-foot table to yourself, and snacks, games, etc. that go with the crop theme. Your bestie's CM rep friend is price gouging for her day crop (IMO).
The main reason I'm going to this 12-hour crop at her house is because I haven't scrapped in a while, I don't get time to myself to scrap at home, and I won't be able to go to the weekend one this fall... I'd much rather go to a weekend hotel crop and get all the extra stuff, space, and time to myself.

If you are a Rewards Member and have used the Senior Discount with the Rewards Number in the past, it is automatically linked together now.

The deal breaker for me is 1/2 of a 6' table. I can't scrap in 3'.
Is she renting a room for the crop? If so, I don't think $40 is terrible, as there are so few crops to attend. She should be able to give you a full table.

I am trying to be very self-reflective and figure out why it is really bothering me and I think it is the food. I think my feelings are kind of hurt. Everyone else gets to eat but me and I paid the same. The last time I went and got and paid for my own food when everyone else was eating her casserole. She had said there would be some veggie stuff, she meant buns. I think I am going to skip it.

Pasta with random meat? Cheap. So I guess it depends on her hall rental fee? I doubt I’d pay $40 to pack my stuff all up, drag it to/from crop to scrap at 1/2 a table. But I’ve never gone to an actual crop either so what do I know. Edited a typo
