The cashier also gave me the 10% senior discount without me asking...I’m grateful for the discount but a tiny bit hurt that I actually look over 55 🤣🤣🤣 Don't be offended. If you are a Rewards Member and have used the Senior Discount with the Rewards Number in the past, it is automatically linked together now. I was whining about this to my older sister and she told me the same thing. Makes me feel better, not that I still don’t look every minute of my 57 years 😁

I have scrapbooked a little over the last few weeks. But am putting the finishing touches on KikiPea 's August Scraplift challenge today. Need to add date and journaling after the mist dries. I have been knitting and crocheting a lot over the last month.

Yesterday I scrapped two more 8.5x11 birthday layouts. One more to do.
I find I do a lot of the same techniques and use the same stamps on my layouts. I like the look, but I don't know if I'm in a comfortable rut, or just doing what works for me.
Anywhos, I still have a 12x12 school layout that has me scratching my head. It's been sitting on my desk, waiting for inspiration to strike. I'll try to futz with it later.

The deal breaker for me is 1/2 of a 6' table. I can't scrap in 3'. Is she renting a room for the crop? If so, I don't think $40 is terrible, as there are so few crops to attend. She should be able to give you a full table. Yes, but Pine City is the same price for 24 hrs and it is Pine City!! She is renting a VFW type thing. I am trying to be very self-reflective and figure out why it is really bothering me and I think it is the food. I think my feelings are kind of hurt. Everyone else gets to eat but me and I paid the same. The last time I went and got and paid for my own food when everyone else was eating her casserole. She had said there would be some veggie stuff, she meant buns. I think I am going to skip it. Ha ha - I agree, buns are not "veggie". I can't eat dairy, so I always plan for alternatives, too.

I have a question or opinion for those of you in the loop. I have barely scraped or shopped in the last 2 years. Soon to be an empty nester and want to get a handle on finishing up my teens books. I am not a huge trend follower but I checked out the Ali Edwards thread and someone said "no one scraps 12x12" anymore, what? Is that true because every site I have looked at lately only sells 12x12 paper and 6x6 pads. I did however see 6x8 pads. I don't see much in the pocket page world either, not that I looked hard because that way never my thing. Some day I may go smaller but I have to much invested to go that route just yet. So can a few of you tell me or gave me their opinions on what is the latest in the "scrap" world. Thanks.

There are most definitely people who scrap 12x12. I do! I know that some find the size too big to store so the will go time 6x8 or the 9x12 but personally I like the size for how I scrap.

I scrap 12x12 as well! I'm considering trying out the 8.5x11 style for storage reasons, but I like the 12s. Gives me more room to play.

I'm still old school. 12x12 first choice. I like doing mini albums and 8x8 pages. At the risk of sounding OCD, I need all 4 sides to equal. I don't think I ever scrapbooked 8.5x11.

I've scrapped 12x12 since the start, and most of the women I crop with are doing 12x12 too.
I think the manufacturers are turning away from it now though because of the higher shipping costs.

We have a lot of 12x12 scrappers here. We also have some 8.5x11, some 6x8 and some TN. Not sure what else. I don’t think that size is going anywhere.

I'm not a big trend follower but I've scrapped every size that has been mentioned including pocket. I like to switch up and I think it makes me more creative. I cut the paper to make it work. Welcome back to scrapbooking!

Thanks ladies for the responses. I plan on staying 12x12 for a while but maybe mixing it up in the future. Back in the day I made bag books, 8x8, 3x3 and 6x6 books. Wish I had planned ahead for my youngest DD. I used Plum 12x12 for my youngest and now they discontinued that color! I am bummed I'll run out before I finish her Senior year book.
I am really in need of embellishments, I started using my Cricut but would like more options. I know some companies do specials around long holiday weekends. With the long weekend coming, any ideas on what and who will have sales?

I know some companies do specials around long holiday weekends. With the long weekend coming, any ideas on what and who will have sales? Just watch the forum. There is usually either one thread where everyone posts what's on sale or multiple threads where people post the deals. We are nothing if not enabling here!!

I scrap 12x12, too. I don't see it going away. I scrap 12x12 also... I think maybe I tried to do 8.5x11 early on (like 25+ years ago, now- wow, where does the time go?!?) and I did not like the limitation of the 'portrait' page orientation. I take mostly landscape / outdoor photos, in landscape orientation, and there is just not enough room on an 8.5x11 page in my opinion. I like the square canvas of a 12x12 page to work on. (well, actually 24x12 worth of space, since I do mainly double-page layouts.) I use D-ring albums, so I mix other page sizes in with my 12x12 pages-- I'll add a 6x12 page in between a 2-pg layout, or add in a pocket page here and there for some variety. I think some of those online companies and scrap 'celebs' might like to make us *think* 12x12 is going away-- because they themselves don't do as much of it-- but I'm guessing vast majority of 'regular' scrappers who shop at M's, HL, and J's would have no interest in switching to a 3x8 album or something else super-specific like Ali E. or some of the other internet scrappers do for their memory-keeping. Creative Memories does have a 6x8 size 'Happy Planner Album' type thing that they sell now, but the bulk of their papers and albums are still 12x12. Close to my Heart's main size is also still 12x12, I think.

I have scrapped 35 pages this month except for the journaling. In order for my pages to count for my competition I have to have them all the way done, but dang. I just don't feel like writing. Two days to go. I can do this, right?

someone said "no one scraps 12x12" anymore, It's usually meant ironically or snarkily in threads here because Studio Calico and their brands (and many others) have been moving away from 12x12 because THEY claim nobody scraps that size any more. It's not in any way true. They also claim that no one makes cards any more, which is also patently untrue. They just claimed that to justify that they weren't selling the kits anymore. Maybe there was some decline in their sales but that was probably because of their appalling customer service. Big brands like American Crafts who own a lot of smaller brands and designers now sell 12x12 pads and papers and a smaller size of paper pad - generally 6x8 now, because 6x6 isn't tall enough for Traveler's Notebooks. 12x12 is definitely not going anywhere, but some of the trendy kit clubs like Cocoa Daisy, Ali and Studio Calico have discontinued their 12x12 kits, mostly I suspect because of the expense of shipping anything over 12" long.

My ‘LSS’ isn’t really an LSS it’s a paper crafting store that makes its living more in card rafting than scrapbooking. None of the classes are scrapbooking classes.
