I think it's interesting that only one person is doing 3x8. I feel there might be some pressure on the last deciders to do 3x8 now... Although Ingunn and Jess Forster will be using the size for their back-in-time December albums so? Kelly Ishmael has amazing and oh-so-delicate photos so I'll be keeping an eye on her DD project as usual. On a more selfish note, I kind of want to see her photography paired with something a little more dreamy than Ali products. Her photos + Vanessa Perry's handlettering and minimalist watercolour designs would've made a perfect pair. But whatever rocks her boat (plus, Vanessa has stopped designing ). joblackford Thanks so much for reminding me about Shimelle's Christmas in a Box kit! I added it to the OP. anniefb Lovely (and super simple for once) JM technique! Thank you for linking us up. Now, if only I had a laminator... I asked if Ali knew what size she was doing (since she wasn't listed) and was told she didnt know yet. I wonder if she will cave and do 3x8? The 3x8 is my favorite album (that green!!) but the width of the spine is a no-go for a month long project. I have thought about that size, though, to get last years done. I, roughly, have stuff for about 15 days. So if I did a 'highlight' type album, it would work. And the limited space would make it easy to accept not doing every day.

Ali shared a teaser with the 3x8 album as a "5 Things" style album a couple of weeks ago.
My guess is that she'll do the 4x6 AND 3x8, with the 4x6 being the 'main' album and the 3x8 being a "5 December Traditions" (or something) album. Similar to what she did last year with the travelers notebook as a break from the main size, only this time they'll be 2 stand alone albums.

Shimelle is talking in some detail about her Christmas in a Box kit on her Fbk Live today (Monday Sept 16 for people reading from the future), starting around the 14:00 mark I think (not sure if this link will work but hopefully, and btw you don't need to use Fbk to watch www.facebook.com/glittershim/videos/520814152004252/ ) I recall she had problems last year with it being delayed, but hoprefully things will run smoother this year. I think it might be an option for some Euro and UK Peas, and US too - I think she has someone ship kits from within the US. She talks about how the leftovers should integrate easily into regular stash - they may have festive elements but are not strictly Christmas supplies. I haven't seen her kits to know if they're good value but I generally trust her so I'd assume they should be. Just thought I'd mention it as an option to add to the list ETA: probably about $50 she'll be listing the Christmas in a Box this week (hopefully) kits ship from UK and US, stamps all ship from her Oz/Nz and the rest of the world she recommends buying the stamps from her and then sourcing the other parts of the kit you like locally because shipping costs are killer I picked up her kit last year and it’s a fantastic value. For $50 shipped it came with 30-40 sheets of 12x12 paper, 2 sheets of 4x6 stamps, Thickers, color shine, embellishments... it was a packed box with a value of well over $50 (probably close to $100). I was super impressed. I had a personal crises on Nov. 30th and didn’t end up doing a DD, so I saved my kit in tact, along with the Pinkfresh kit I ordered, and will use both for the upcoming holiday season. I will probably order Shimelle’s new kit, as well. I even saved the “thanks for ordering” card with Shimelle’s signature on it! Silly, but I appreciated receiving a note from Shimelle in my box.

craftymom101 thanks for the firsthand review of Shimelle's box. I'm not in the market for myself but when I heard her talking about it in the Fbk Live I thought it sounded like a good option that we hadn't talked about here this year, especially for UK Peas. And it did sound like a good deal, a great stash builder for those who are in that mode. I'm glad to hear my faith in Shimelle is warranted I'm looking forward to seeing what you got even though I don't need any supplies!

Thanks for sharing. I can't help but notice the album is completely full without photos and real life ephemera. And the burn of offering Echo Park pocket pages with the Simple Stories binder. What's going on?...

I think so too. She was asking about favorite traditions. Well, wouldn't you know? That sounds very Journal Your Christmas-y. Speaking of...I finally purchased JYC last year. YEAY! Will there be automatic emails to follow along this year, or will I have to go into the online site to be able to follow for this year? If any peas have done multiple years of JYC and can pipe in, I'd be very grateful.

@zingermack Let's get shakin'! I'm trying to be as proactive as possible to beat the dreaded winter blues this year by getting in the mood for Halloween and Christmas (and filling my agenda with loads of things to look forward to) but we still have 30°C/86°F daily here so I think I'm a little early with the strategy...

One last question about the scrapbook.com coupons. How often do they come out -- the free shipping ones?
I was waiting to hit $55 in my cart and did not have enough. Now I'm more than good.
I won't ask again after this, I promise!!

They already have pretty competitive prices for the products they carry so the free shipping is a bit of a lucky extra.

It does work, thank you! Even if you don't have Facebook I must've missed this one last year. TBH I'm more interested in being nosy at her new place than in the scrapbooky stuff. lol.

You should be given a log in right away where you can see all of the previous years discussion boards and the prompts and past videos (in case you'd like to get pre-inspired). And then you'll start getting emails on or just before Dec 1st, and every day until Jan 6th forrrreeeeever! unless you beg her to stop! Yay!

I haven’t found their shipping to be outrageously expensive though. I mean some places shipping is ridiculously high for something that could be mailed for $4. Scrapbook.com shipping has come up rather fair cost for me. ( but I’m not over seas or anything )

Scrapbook.com shipping has come up rather fair cost for me. ( but I’m not over seas or anything ) They are the best international retailer for non-US scrapbookers. I don't bother with their offers because I rarely place orders over $50. I just place smaller orders through the year and if I don't exceed a certain weight, they ship it to me with the lowest international rate at $6.99. It's a very, very good shipping quote.

I was really surprised as I don't ever remember thinking their shipping was bad at all until now. I wish ACOT had the album. I would have bought it by now.

I’m sorry for the glare on the photos!
The only disappointing product (for me) in the box is the Happy Jig twine. I don’t have a Happy Jig and I’m not a huge fan of wire in my scrapbook albums. But this is a small quibble and the value of the box far exceeds the $50 I paid for it. I counted the papers and there are 22 patterned papers and 3 specialty papers.

Ok, I did a search on Pinterest for DD and it's nothing but ads, ads, ads and stuff that is not DD. Then I looked through my Pinterest DD board and I've tried out most of the ideas I've saved. And I just don't use Pinterest anymore.
I'm going to look through the books archived at A Stitch in Time. Then head to Studio Calico to look at what's posted there.
Where can I look for some inspiration? Any newbies posting good photos that I might have missed last year? I don't have it in me to watch youtube videos.
Would love some fun ideas.
