My KP order is missing the Red letter press numbers page too and my 4x6 white cards are hole punched upside down. Crap. That's being very unlucky. Did you get an extra/unexpected gift in your parcel at the very least?

I didn't think so at first but I ordered some label stickers and in the brown bag they were in was a white alphabet sticker sheet.

Did you also know the reindeer are FEMALES? My girls found out that little tidbit and loved it.

*swoons along* And my mother is an avid knitter! She's making me a lovely Norah Gaughan sweater for Christmas. I need this, right? YES you need that. I think I like that collection better than anything else that's been shared here this year. (Except Geralyn's yeti.) I only learned that some people call Donner "Donder" last year when we did caroling and the song sheet used that name in the lyrics. I like the reference to the Dutch Thunder and Lightning! That's very cool. Christmas (especially in the US) is such an accretion of cultures and traditions from all over, which themselves have layers upon layers of meanings. I read a book by a religion professor who was responding to the people who want Christmas to go back to the "pure" thing that it once was, that showed that Christmas never was what we think it was - it has always had these layers and tensions, and in "the good old days" it generally wasn't even very significant/a holiday (Easter being far more important to the early church). It was an interesting read! www.goodreads.com/book/show/1493195.Christmas Christmas: a Candid History by Bruce David Forbes, in case anyone wants to check it out.

Thanks for the Donner/Donder reference sleepingbooty. I may print out the story and put it in my DD with the card.

My KP order arrived today ( a day earlier than expected. Yay!) I got the December Details kit, which is lovely. The 6X8 red letter press # page is missing, however. Ugh. I will contact CS. I also got the Jingle All The Way Kit. Also lovely. Curious to me is the 3X4 letterpress card with the names of the reindeer. She used the uncommon (per Wikipedia) spelling for Donner. She used Donder. I’ve not seen it spelled this way before 🤷🏻♀️ My gift is the color 3X8 cards. Very nice. My KP order is missing the Red letter press numbers page too and my 4x6 white cards are hole punched upside down. I don't mean to be rude, but are you sure it's missing? Mine was kinda stuck between my 6x8 pages. It's definitely not the usual way I've received her kit with that binder thingie. Definitely not saying you're stupid and/or shipping didn't include it, just saying mine was definitely not "HEY HERE I AM". The extra 3x8s are also double sided, whereas the ones in my kit weren't... odd? Just me? Ok.

Thanks dawnnikol. I took the binder clip off and went through everything carefully. No letter press # page Same for my 3X8s, extras are double sided, kit ones aren’t.

I don’t think they mean for you to put it in your album as is — it seems to be more of a way to bind them together for shipping/keeping them pristine during shipping. I think we are meant to trim them.

Isn't it more work to do that instead of leaving them loose? Anyway. I hope she gets you two sorted out quickly.

Aw, shout out to Troy, NY... it's a suburb in my area. And thanks for the background, I was wondering the same thing when I saw the KP card. I think of the name as "Donner" so I would have a hard time using that card, even though I see it's not technically incorrect. You totally *have* to use that card now! How cool is it that you live near a town where they printed a poem that would lead to such an iconic Christmas song and story about Santa's reindeers? It appears that you can find a facsimile of the original Troy Sentinel issue containing Account of a Visit from St. Nicholas at the Troy Public Library. I think it's really fun and interesting to read such little anecdotes. The US is a true melting pot. Funny that the Dutch Sinterklaas is part of the origin story of Santa's reindeers (especially since the Dutch have him on a horse that is called "Slecht-Weer-Vandaag" in some modern versions of the tale, that literally means "bad weather today", seemingly a wink to Donder and Blixem/Bliksem.) I love that KP's card has led me down this Christmassy literary rabbit hole. Don't tempt me to pick up that kit too now! Ha.
I might go check out the original newsprint though... I will share here if I do. So neat to hear that about Troy, which is already a super neat town for being so small. What they are best known for is being the birth place of Uncle Sam (although that might only be something people are aware of in the USA?) They have Uncle Sam stuff all over town though, they should add in some reindeer, ha!

Beautiful album cover, mom! Did you tie the elastic in the back or is it tied behind the TH metal bar?

If anyone is on the fence about getting the Crate Paper "Snowflake" the two videos that I have seen and the graphics don't do the collection justice. It's beautiful and the color scheme is really muted with the most beautiful copper foiling-- as if copper and rose gold made a baby. I do believe when people find out how great it looks in person it will be hard to find like Merry Days.

http://instagram.com/p/B3xPEDEFCRw Ali Edwards digitals are available. The promotion to get the hybrid class if you spend $50 on digital stuff is odd. That is a lot to spend on digital products. Again the previews and descriptions are not great. On the template pack I had to zoom in to read the tiny text at the bottom of the picture to see the sizes offered. This specialty card set looks blocky. I guess it is a gold effect. Not readable. I wonder if it would print properly. aliedwards.com/shop/december-daily-2019-digital-specialty-journal-card-set

Beautiful album cover, mom! Did you tie the elastic in the back or is it tied behind the TH metal bar? I tied it on a bow at the back of the album. My plan is leave it the way it is until I’m all done and then tie it securely and tightly. I’m afraid to make it too right now and then have to redo it all later.

I know someone was looking for Crate Paper "Merry Days" a few pages back, but I can't find the post. At any rate, I just saw a shaker sticker set and a stamp set from that collection at Tuesday Morning today. They weren't there last week. I'm not sure if there will be more to come, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone is still searching and wanted to check their store(s).
Cheers!

I was going to dare and say the exact same thing. It’s darling in person and Merry Days was my top CP Winter/Holiday collection. Something about the foil color and color palette feels good! UPDATE: Merry Days is still #1 and now "Snowflake" is #2.

Is Crate Paper's 12x12 paper pad foiled? I know with some paper pads, you don't get the foiling. They do have foiling on their 6x8 paper pad. I’d assume the 12x12 does as well?
