What scents do others like but they are weird to you?
For me it’s lilies. They smell like cat pee to me and give me a nauseous headache.
I love cilantro if that has any bearing on my dislike of lilies.

Eucalyptus stinks to me. It also makes me sneeze.
Also, Paperwhites. I forced the bulbs one spring, because they are so pretty. DH and I came home and said WHAT STINKS? It was the flowers. I had to throw them away.

I love the smell of real flowers (roses, gardenias, lilies, lavender), but HATE floral scented candles, lotions, bath products, perfumes. I will throw or give away any floral scented items that I am given.

I'm not a fan of any "sweet" scented soaps or candles. Vanilla, pumpkin whatever, sugar cookie, anything sweet like that from Bath & Body works is icky to me.

Most scented candles. It might say ‘fresh apple’ or ‘field of lavender’ but they all smell horribly artificial and not at all pleasant.

I can't deal with "clean cotton" scents anymore. We once had a critter die in our walls and after it was removed, I used those candles to help get the stink out of the house - now all those clean cotton scents smell like rotting carcass to me.

DH planted a gazillion lilies and likes to cut them and put on our kitchen island. I do not like the smell of lilies. I do love the smell of roses and peonies. I also like sweet scents like seasonal candles, pine, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, etc. One of my favorite scents is oud which is impossible to buy here. I also like musk scents. I do not like patchouli.

Definitely can't stand sweet food-scented anything other than citrus (perfume/cologne, air freshener, candles, etc.) - vanilla, sugar cookie, brown sugar, coconut, apple pie, pumpkin anything, etc. Some of these are hard to avoid because they're quite popular and a lot of people love them. Lots of people love to use coconut oil in some form (hair products, body lotion) and the scent just makes me gag. Same for vanilla - those two are the worst for me!
I go for citrus, fresh, or botanical scents, and even a few florals (very few). I'm very picky about scents.

I have more than one friend that likes the smell of gas. Whenever they fill up their cars they stand there and practically huff the gas cap. Just the thought makes me feel like my brain is going to melt. 🤮🤢

I like almost all scents, floral, fruity, whatever. But one scent that I absolutely can't stand is cucumber. Blech

I'm pretty sensitive to a lot of smells - especially perfumes - they all seem to give me a headache. I love my church family but can't wait to get home after church because my clothes reek from the smell of so many perfumes on my clothing from receiving hugs. I like the hugs but all the perfume really does leave me with a headache.
Two scents I cannot stand to be around are CK1 (Unisex perfume/cologne) and Patchouli.

Any and all scented candles, oils, colognes, body products, room "fresheners, LOL".
There are some shrubs in CT that flower in the spring that smell like pee to me. I can't stand the scent of paper whites, lilacs, lilies, and hyacinths, to name a few.

I'm very sensitive to smells, but I don't intensely dislike very much. My biggies are anything pretending to be vanilla which doesn't smell anything like vanilla, and white coffee or the breath of anyone who has just sipped a white coffee - smells like vomit to me.

Puppy breath. And puppy feet. Some people go gaga over the smell of them. Yes, puppies are cute, but that doesn't mean I like their breath <blech>

I don't like food scented body or home fragrance products at all. Citrus and some other plain fruit scents are okay, as well as spice and vanilla. But vanilla bean, not vanilla cupcake. Fresh apple, not apple pie. Lemon, not lemon bars. No pumpkin spice, salted caramel, cinnamon bun, pecan maple, berry buttercream, etc...
I like most flower scents, especially white flowers. Except lily of the valley. Nope...something about lily of the valley just bothers me. I can smell it in a perfume even if it's just a background note.
And the generic "rain" fragrance. Something about those watery fragrance notes bothers me.
In perfumes specifically, aldehydes, cashmeran, and ambroxan notes bother me.

What is white coffee? Coffee with cream, or over here, usually instant coffee with milk.

I hate vanilla scented things (real baked goods are OK, though, lol). Unfortunately, DD LOVES them.
Patchouli gives me a migraine. A couple of fragrances always do, as well, even though I don't dislike them in the slightest - Aromatics Elixir, and Angel.
Not a huge fan of most food scented things in general, but I'm OK with some of it if it's in season, like a cinnamon apple thing in December or something. In July, no.
And a lot of the "clean" or "linen scented" things are just too overwhelming. I don't mind the scent itself, but it always seems too strong.
