I hate vanilla-scented stuff, too sickly sweet. Anything claiming to be Ocean breeze/spray/mist etc smells like toilet cleaner to me.
This might be weird but the smell of any type of lager or beer makes me gag.

Dislike: patchouli, eucalyptus, lavender, linen/cotton, most florals are gross to me and give me headaches. Green apple and watermelon candy smell disgusting. I HATE the smell of coffee brewing, it makes me want to puke.
Like: With the few noted exceptions above, most food smelling things are tolerable to me so I like them better. Vanilla scented anything is my most favorite but I also like cinnamon/cinnamon roll, gingerbread, cookie or baking scents, citrus particularly grapefruit, coconut, pineapple, honeycrisp apple, marshmallow, caramel, chocolate. I also like the Thymes Frasier Fir scent.
A lot of strong scents give me and my DH nasty headaches so we don’t tend to have a lot of scented things in our house other than hand soap or shampoo. Our laundry soap is unscented, we don’t use dryer sheets or air fresheners, don’t burn candles, etc.

I hate the smell of rose and vanilla unless it's real roses and real vanilla.

What scents do others like but they are weird to you? For me it’s lilies. They smell like cat pee to me and give me a nauseous headache. I love cilantro if that has any bearing on my dislike of lilies. Lilies smell like death. Specifically, I imagine that is what that big rotting corpse death plant also smells like.

Patchouli is horrible and anything that's in Kirkland's. I cannot go into that store. And right now it's Louis- he smells like a bag of Fritos.

Mrs Meyer's anything - they smell so fake/wrong to me. The basil smells nothing like a basil plant. (which I love) Neither does lavender. I have found good lavender candles in other brands.
The smell of fruit flavored processed foods - like poptarts, nutrigrain bars, Gerber puffs etc. And kids toothpaste. Blueberry anything is the worst. (blueberries are my cilantro haha)
Indian food. I think this is lingering from my pregnancies because the smell grossed me out so much then and I've never gotten over it.

. I HATE the smell of coffee brewing, it makes me want to puke. . Oh yes, I’d forgotten I can’t stand the smell of coffee brewing either! We just don’t do it at home; DH’s instant coffee smell is bad enough but I can just tolerate it. We only burn candles when there’s a power cut and those are unscented. Through trial and error I’ve finally found some melts that I like and we use electric warmers so I’m not struggling with the tealight flames which also give me a headache. The electric warmers are pretty too so I’m pleased with them.

DH planted a gazillion lilies and likes to cut them and put on our kitchen island. I do not like the smell of lilies. I do love the smell of roses and peonies. I also like sweet scents like seasonal candles, pine, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, etc. One of my favorite scents is oud which is impossible to buy here. I also like musk scents. I do not like patchouli. I can’t bear musk or patchouli, they immediately affect my head. Oh, I agree ! They are the worst !!

Anything that is chemically scented gives me migraines so I have to be careful with all products like perfume, laundry soaps, scented candles, hand lotions, shampoos, etc. If a product is scented with natural scents by using essential oils for instance I'm fine and won't get a migraine. For that reason I buy hair products that are scented with essential oils, unscented laundry products, hand lotion or soaps with essential oils, and beeswax candles.
What scents do I like? I love lavender and citrus scents (if they are natural), coffee smells wonderful to me when it's brewing. I love the smell of the cologne my German grandmother used to wear called 4711. It was first made in 1792 and still uses the same formula today. It's made with essential oils so I can use it. It has a citrus scent and is light and refreshing. When I went back in 2005 (have been back since) I bought a few bottles to take back with me. I love the way fresh herbs smell when I chop them for dinner like cilantro and basil. I like the smell of cinnamon-it's such a warm, comforting smell. I love the way flowers smell (real flowers). I love the smell of the sea!
What scents do I hate? There is a certain Christmas tree (an evergreen tree) and I don't know which one it is but it smells to me like cat pee. One day I'll have to figure out which evergreen tree it is. There are many artificial scents I hate because to me they are so overbearing and strong. Gas, motor oil and those sort of things-I don't like the way they smell. Artificially scented candles-yuck! I can't even go down the laundry aisle at the grocery store because the scents are so strong.

I can't even go down the laundry aisle at the grocery store because the scents are so strong. My mother wore 4711 all the time! Your post reminded me and I’ve just ordered a stick from Amazon! Great for rubbing on the temples and wrist points for a lift. I know what you mean about the evergreen too but I’ve not worked out which it is. Years ago I heard a parfumier say if you could NOT smell a scent on yourself a little while after applying it it meant it was most suitable for your skin chemistry type, not that it had faded and you did not need to apply more. I loathe it when folk put on so much perfume/cologne it’s like a cloud around them and I can taste it.

I don't know whether other people *like* this smell or not, but I cannot stand the smell of rubber tires-- like a whole bunch of them, in a store. <blech!> When I was a kid, we always shopped at Farm & Fleet (it's similar to Tractor Supply, Farm King, etc.-- farm stuff + household stuff, Wrangler clothes, etc.) and whenever we went there I would immediately get a headache and get sick to my stomach from the tire smell. I remember a girl I went to high school with who loved the smell of gasoline... ick!
